Current Trying to get back into the swing of things (for a 2nd time!)

Bio

Hi there I'm Rultaos, or simply Rult as some of my friends call me. I first got into RP'ing on two different sites back when I was in High School. The forums of the games Minecraft and Spiral Knights. Both had game-related RP's, as well as off-topic ones regarding fantasy and sci-fi. This was around 3-4 years ago. I wasn't really good at it back then, but I met a lot of great people and feel like I really improved since then.

For any of you who are curious, this was one of my biggest RP undertakings before I got into this site (My username also comes from this as a tribute to it!). It's not really a very well-written roleplay (or a very well-managed one for that matter). But it really meant a lot to me because of how far it went, how long it survived, and how it inspired my fellow players there. It always fills me with a sense of nostalgia whenever I glance at it in my bookmarks...

I got into RPGuild back when it was still using the old server (the one that got taken down after Mahz got behind on his pay and the providers ended their service without warning). I was pretty bummed when this happened because I was already actively participating in a number of roleplays, and I could only stay in contact with a select few guildmates on the Facebook group. Eventually, the long wait was over, and the site was given renewed life after a few bumps in the road that guildmaster Mahz faced in his attempts to resurrect this place. It was a good day for many including myself when this site slowly started getting more and more features.

2014 was my second year in college and was a very stressful time for me. Mostly concerning academics, with a few occasional problems regarding friends and fellow students alike. Because of this, I had to suddenly drop out of roleplaying for a while in order to have the time to get my real life back in order.

Now, I've returned to the site, and am hoping to get back into the groove of roleplaying and make more great friends and have even greater adventures through whatever huge universe your brilliant minds can think of! If you wanna invite me to play, or even just have a friendly chat about anything, send a message my way and I'll reply as soon as I can =)

For those of you who are wondering, my roleplay interests include: Sci-Fi, Military, sometimes Fantasy, a Fandom one if I'm familiar with the source material, heck I'd be willing to dabble in an Apocalypse setting as well. I'm also willing to try new things as well if it seems fascinating enough. So hit me up with an idea any time and I'd be happy to share my thoughts with you.

Well, I feel like I've used up enough for your time. Thanks for caring enough to read all this, and I hope you enjoy your roleplay adventures as much as I have in the past and the present ^_^

By the time Varkasan had finished shopping at the bazaar, not only did he have a sword, but he also had other pieces of useful equipment. He had some grappling rope for climbing walls, a secure liquid container, a small telescope, a lamp powered by light energy, and a better bag to place these things in. He felt that the sword would be all the new weaponry he would need, so long as he could keep on improving his light spells to enhance his existing armor.

He had ran into Conrad again, and this time Sylvestra just as he was finishing up and took kindly to the Vanguard commander's words. She seemed a little more lax and less distant than before, and Varkasan hoped that meant they would be able to work together better in the future. Just as he was considering what he should do next, a messenger arrived for him, telling him to meet immediately with The Grand Inquisitor.

Upon arrival at the designated location, Sebastian told them that they were to meet with the inventor of The Stinger: The Dwarven Grand Technicar. Varkasan was fascinated at the prospect of being able to meet with one of the greatest minds among the Dwarves. After hearing so much about them, it would be interesting to see how their lead inventor was like. Sebastian warned them that he was a little on the insane side though. "That's to be expected. Those whose minds are above others must be difficult for most to understand" He thought.

Varkasan followed closely behind Sebastian and the other candidates as they went through the maze of caverns made as the home of the Dwarves. A little while later however, they began hearing terrified screams. "Something is attacking the Dwarves!" Varkasan shouted as he ran forward with the rest of them to investigate, his new blade at the ready. A few seconds later, and they would realize what was causing the panic.

Blue crystalline formations were scattered around the area. Most wouldn't recognize the danger this presented. But for people like Varkasan who witnessed the kid of carnage they caused first-hand, such a sight could induce fear. "Don't touch the crystals! They'll cover you whole if you come in contact with them, sir!" Varkasan warned Grand Inquisitor Sebastian. Before any of them could fully react to the crystallized dwarves however, The Azure Sorcerer suddenly backed out of (what appeared to be) The Grand Technicar's workshop, with gigantic crossbow bolts firing out towards him. One missed and embedded itself firmly into a wall, while the rest were blocked by Rivain's crystal magic. Once the Mage was outside the structure, the entryway was sealed with a stone slab. "These Dwarves truly know how to fight using their weapons..." Varkasan thought, remarking how fiercely Dwarves inside the Grand Technicar's workshop had to have fought in order to force The Azure Sorcerer himself to fall back.

However, Rivain took notice of the new Paladin arrivals shortly after being locked out. Sebastian ordered The candidates to stay back, and Varkasan complied, walking backwards and crouching behind some stone debris with his shield up. He kept his sword ready in case The Inquisitor would suddenly call for their assistance.

Rivain wasted no time and immediately launched the same spell that blasted apart Inquisitor Levran. Sebastian however, managed to survive it, but lost his armor in the process. Varkasan couldn't understand how Sebastian was able to survive that, and still have the energy to taunt Rivain. The Mage was angry, without a doubt, and sending powerful spells against The Grand Inquisitor. But Sebastian was too fast. He would keep on moving out of the way of the spells. It reminded Varkasan of the way the female Mage who accompanied Rivain back at the abandoned village managed to dodge and weave around all of the combined attacks of The Paladins. It was truly impressive.

However, Rivain seemed to have anticipated even Sebastian's lightning-fast movements, and was actually counting on him to be in the exact spot that he was after launching his spells. The Mage brought The Inquisitor high up in the air, and used the sigil that was formed on the ground by his other spells. But Sebastian managed to survive once again, and kept Rivain on his toe; sending Light Orbs against his Crystalline Armor.

It was a fierce fight, and eventually, The Mage used his Trump Card: Greater Shockwave. Varkasan quickly ducked out of the way of the force, diving down to the ground away from it as a majority of his cover was destroyed. When he looked up, he saw that it was a blast so powerful that it managed to create an entirely new tunnel using that one spell. For a moment, Varkasan had feared that not even Sebastian could survive such a direct attack given his current state. But to his surprise, The Grand Inquisitor was still standing, though barely.

With a final attempt, Sebastian assaulted Rivain using his orbs of light, but the Mage escaped in a flash, causing the explosions to damage only stone. "So, he raided the vault, didn't he. Blasted Teleportation Crystals... And now, I would really appreciate some medical attention." Sebastian said as he fell to the ground.

Varkasan ran to his aid and picked him up with the help of the other candidates. "We have to get him help and medicine!" He said. By now, Dwarves and Paladin guards had arrived on the scene to see what was going on. Varkasan turned towards one of the Paladins. "Which way is the infirmary?! The Grand Inquisitor is gravely wounded!" He asked with urgency. After the man pointed them in the right direction, he and his friends made a dash for the place, passing by a surprised Alicia, and being followed by Paladins and Dwarves trying to offer their assistance.
Well... These last few days have been hectic for me. Sorry about that >_<. However I should be able to get a post up by tonight (possibly 14 hours from now...) Just gotta head somewhere today and do things. Though if I have the opportunity to post earlier than that, then I shall.
I think my post may actually be a little delayed. I spent a little too much time writing a post for another RP and now I need to get going somewhere >_<. I'll write it up as soon as I'm free.
Lionel

The helicopters were already in the sky, and Colonel Lionel stood at the front of one of the aircraft, looking at the eight soldiers seated before him and holding onto the railing on the ceiling. As the sound of the motor engines filled the air, he raised his voice to a shout, to make sure his orders could be heard. "You already know your objectives from the briefing on the ground, but I'll go over them again to make sure you don't forget it." He said loudly.

"The first teams to be sent in have been split into three groups. Alpha Squad, Bravo Squad, and Charlie Squad. We are Alpha Squad. Our job is to go inside the city before the rest of the rescue force, to find and secure a landing zone and command post for them to drop soldiers and supplies into. Our helicopter will drop us off on the roof of Unwavering Faith Hospital. Bravo Squad will land on top of a large parking building to the east of the hospital. And Charlie will be dropped off on the roof of an apartment complex to our west. These are some of the highest spots in the city where a helicopter can land. Each squad is going to survey the city from the roof and look for a good open area to set up a camp. Afterwards, we make our way down the building and meet up on the way to the area each squad agrees upon. I will remain in radio contact with the other squad leaders at all times to make sure each person knows the status of each squad. If I should die for any reason, you have orders to retrieve the radio and re-establish contact with the others. The other squads have similar orders." He explained

The pilot spoke up. "Sir, we're nearing the L.Z." He said. The Colonel looked out and saw Valhalla City below him, wrecked and decayed. From high above, he could see no signs of life in the dark streets and buildings below. Though surely some survivors must hear the sound of the helicopters above them.

"Alright. Again, once we've selected a site to set up camp, all three squads will clear the area of infected and set up flare signals to show the other choppers were to land. Just stay close to each other and work together. Follow your orders and you WILL get out of this alive." He finished saying. He looked out the helicopter once more and saw the target hospital just up ahead, the helicopter quickly closing the distance. "It's almost time..." He thought. He felt a little apprehension at what they were about to do, but it had to be done, and none of them had any right to walk away from this now.

"Everybody, masks on and guns loaded!" The colonel ordered as he strapped on his gas mask and helmet. He took out his rifle and flicked off the safety switch. The pilot stopped the helicopter in the air and slowly descended. "L.Z. Is clear, sir. Alpha Squad is free to drop." The pilot said. The doors of the helicopter opened. "Go! Go! Go!" Lionel said with a muffle from his mask as he hopped off the vehicle and onto the roof of the hospital. He aimed down the sights of his gun and scanned the area while the rest of Alpha Squad jumped out and did the same. "I want two people covering that stairwell door! Make sure no infected bust through it. I want eyes on the east and west. Make visual contact with Bravo and Charlie as soon as they land!" He ordered, gesturing at each location.

He flicked on his radio as his men got into position. "Bravo, charlie, what is your status?" He asked. "This is Bravo, we've just landed and are securing the L.Z." A muffled voice answered from the other side. "This is Charlie, we're preparing to drop now." Another voice answered. "Good, once you two have secured the landing areas we start looking for a place to set up camp." Lionel replied. "Roger that, Charlie squad ou-"

"This is Bravo! We got contact!" The voice shouted. Thinking quickly, Lionel headed to the east side of the roof and put his goggles up to his eyes. Aside from nightvision, they could also be used as regular binoculars. He zoomed in and saw Bravo Squad in the distance, opening fire on two infected running wildly at them. On the lower levels of the parking lot, some infected heard the commotion and began climbing out of cars and debris to investigate. "Bravo, hold your position, take them out, and drop their bodies off the roof! But whatever you do, keep your distance while they're still standing!" He ordered into his radio. He then turned around to face his own squad.

"I need a sniper over here now!" He shouted.
Well, people joining in the middle can still have interest. A friend of mine is running the GEARS Roleplay (if you've seen that in the forums) and somehow he's managed to keep interest alive for so long, as well as attract newcomers. So I don't think trying it would be a complete waste of time.

Also, sorry for my lack of posts at the moment. Been trying to find inspiration for quite a while... Though I should have one up in about 10 or so hours. I just need to get some sleep (as it's already night for me) and I'll write something for this RP as well as another one as soon as I wake up. Or at least, as soon as my head isn't too sleep-dazed to write something coherent XD
Well, I'm feeling better now. And I should be able to get a post up in around 10 hours (Just need to get some sleep and then wake myself up enough to write something that isn't complete gibberish). I just hope there are still people around to play XD
Are we waiting for the Mages to post at the moment? Me and the other Paladins seem to have already posted ._.
Glad to hear it, guys =). I'll get the soldiers moving along soon as well. I just need to find a bit of inspiration to write again, since my girlfriend started becoming distant... =/
That sounds like a pretty awesome RP. I'd probably have played as Ratchet from the Ratchet and Clank series. It was one of my favorite childhood games. Right next to Kingdom Hearts and Sly Cooper =)
I'm a little concerned by the lack of activity on here...

Well, as long as you fellas post OOC and keep me updated I wont be too worried about it dying XD. Though I do wish the people RP'ing the troops would answer my question. If you don't, I'll just move it along soon.
