Current Trying to get back into the swing of things (for a 2nd time!)

Bio

Hi there I'm Rultaos, or simply Rult as some of my friends call me. I first got into RP'ing on two different sites back when I was in High School. The forums of the games Minecraft and Spiral Knights. Both had game-related RP's, as well as off-topic ones regarding fantasy and sci-fi. This was around 3-4 years ago. I wasn't really good at it back then, but I met a lot of great people and feel like I really improved since then.

For any of you who are curious, this was one of my biggest RP undertakings before I got into this site (My username also comes from this as a tribute to it!). It's not really a very well-written roleplay (or a very well-managed one for that matter). But it really meant a lot to me because of how far it went, how long it survived, and how it inspired my fellow players there. It always fills me with a sense of nostalgia whenever I glance at it in my bookmarks...

I got into RPGuild back when it was still using the old server (the one that got taken down after Mahz got behind on his pay and the providers ended their service without warning). I was pretty bummed when this happened because I was already actively participating in a number of roleplays, and I could only stay in contact with a select few guildmates on the Facebook group. Eventually, the long wait was over, and the site was given renewed life after a few bumps in the road that guildmaster Mahz faced in his attempts to resurrect this place. It was a good day for many including myself when this site slowly started getting more and more features.

2014 was my second year in college and was a very stressful time for me. Mostly concerning academics, with a few occasional problems regarding friends and fellow students alike. Because of this, I had to suddenly drop out of roleplaying for a while in order to have the time to get my real life back in order.

Now, I've returned to the site, and am hoping to get back into the groove of roleplaying and make more great friends and have even greater adventures through whatever huge universe your brilliant minds can think of! If you wanna invite me to play, or even just have a friendly chat about anything, send a message my way and I'll reply as soon as I can =)

For those of you who are wondering, my roleplay interests include: Sci-Fi, Military, sometimes Fantasy, a Fandom one if I'm familiar with the source material, heck I'd be willing to dabble in an Apocalypse setting as well. I'm also willing to try new things as well if it seems fascinating enough. So hit me up with an idea any time and I'd be happy to share my thoughts with you.

Well, I feel like I've used up enough for your time. Thanks for caring enough to read all this, and I hope you enjoy your roleplay adventures as much as I have in the past and the present ^_^

Well... I should be ashamed of myself. all I had to do was write a short reply and I never got around to it. Things have been very busy for me, but I guess that's not much of an excuse considering I didn't need to write much... I'll get it up soon. For real this time. Sorry again, things have just been really hectic that this just slipped my mind a lot.
Reporting!
Sorry I haven't posted my reply yet. I've been lacking inspiration to post onto this for a while... However, I should be able to get a post up for this within the next 7-8 hours after I get some sleep. I was hoping someone else would've posted something to keep things active, but it seems that didn't happen.. In any case, I apologize >_<
At the failing walls...
------------------------------------------- "Thalius... I REALLY hate it when you're right!" Brachen said once again as he notched another arrow and let it loose. The soldiers of First Reach were losing ground, and the army of dark creatures were constantly advancing. They had already breached the streets and their allies were being slaughtered. The lady who had appeared before them moments ago, had abruptly leapt off the walls and began taking the fight to the ground. Thalius was trying to focus on taking shots, but at the same time gauging whether or not they should retreat to a fallback position. Then what he was fearing had begun happening... Their enemy had started placing down ladders in the further sections of the walls, and the stairs to the ramparts were being assaulted. The Mages and Archers were now under direct attack. "Our position has been compromised! Regroup and defend yourselves!" Thalius commanded as he put away his longbow and drew the smaller crossbow. He took aim at one of the stairs the Dark Creatures were advancing from and saw one of them climbing the stone wall next to the stairs. It seemed like it was trying to sneak up on the defenders desperately holding the top of the stairs. "Trying to flank them... Better take him out" He pulled the trigger and put the bolt into the target's cranium. The corpse fell to the ground as Thalius loaded another bolt. The rest of the rangers had stopped using their longbows and were now trying to defend the ramparts with their crossbows. "Thalius, Brachen, should we head to our fallback position?" Leonhard asked as he watched the Dark Creatures push forward on another distant set of stairs. Suddenly however, a swordsman in plate armor came up to the position, limping wearily up the stairs. He was cut badly, and his armor was dented. "Ryndall?!" Brachen exclaimed. "Help him up!" He ordered his men as a couple of them took the wounded warriors by the arms and held him up. "Sirs, I'm sorry... My squad is dead. We... couldn't stop them. More of the creatures are on the way here..." Ryndall said through pained breaths. Brachen's eyes widened under his helmet before he shook his head in disbelief. "Damn... DAMN!" He exclaimed. He then turned to Thalius and the others. "Ryndall and his squad were guarding our exit path to the fallback positions. This means the enemy has overrun that route and we're trapped here..." Brachen announced. "Trapped?! By the Gods... That's it then. We're dead... We're all going to die just like everyone else!" One of the younger rangers said as he put his hands on his head. A female ranger grabbed the man and shook him. "Pull yourself together! You are a Soldier of Veradan and you will not falter no matter what happens!" She shouted at the panicked man, who simply put his hands down and held his crossbow tightly with a hesitant nod. Meanwhile, Thalius assessed their situation. The other sections of the wall were stating to be overrun as enemies climbed up both stairs and ladders to assault them. The Mages and Archers were not really meant for close-combat, so the enemy already had an advantage there. Not to mention that they were severely outnumbered. The defenders were trying to push the ladders off the wall, but it was only doing so much against the never-ending horde. He looked over to one of the wall sections to their left. It led to the gatehouse of the wall. As far as he could see, it was the only neaby structure they could reach. And if they could regroup with the other defenders, it would be more defensible than the ramparts. "Stick close to each other. We're going to fight our way to the gatehouse. If we can fortify that position, we have a better chance of holding them off than standing out here. We also need to regroup with the other squads and Mages." Thalius ordered. As if on cue, a few ladders slammed onto the wall section that they were one and planted themselves firmly on the ramparts. The growls of unholy creatures could be heard right below them, as well as the shaking of the ladders as the enemy scrambled up to them. Wasting no time, Brachen ran to one of them and knocked it to the ground below with his hands. Thalius ran for one of the ladders as some monster with a bent back started creeping over the rampart. Thinking quickly, he pulled out his sword and drove it through the creature's head from above before it had the chance to defend itself. Sending blood spurting out of the wound as Thalius kicked the ladder down as the falling monsters screamed. "Move... MOVE OUT NOW!" Thalius shouted at the soldiers as he put away his stained blade and prepared his crossbow. Acknowledging the order with a nod, they all started running for the gatehouse. They were dashing across the wall at full speed as battles below them were erupting and ladders were being planted across the area. Thalius was keeping his eyes ahead of them. Up ahead a small fight was taking place between a small group of Rangers trying to stop the ladders from staying planted within their vicinity. However, some creatures managed to get on top and began engaging them, stopping them from keeping the ladders down. "Targets up ahead. Garret, Glynas, Larcon, prepare to fire. We have 4 enemies, pick your targets and wait for my signal. I have the one with the scimitar in its hand." Thalius ordered and announced to his squad. "I got the hammer wielder!" Garret replied. "Leave the one with the two daggers to me!" Glynas said. "The one with the golden helmet is mine then." Larcon. "Keep going and wait for my orders. Brachen, Leonhard, I'm counting on you two to have your men take out any more that come up and knock the ladders down as soon as they area's clear." Thalius continued. The group kept heading forward until they were around 10 meters away from the combat. At this point, one of the rangers engaging them with his short sword was wounded and struck down as he shouted in agony. More of the creatures were climbing up and Thalius could hear Leo and Brachen shouting orders at their men. "Halt and aim!" Thalius ordered as they stopped and his squad prepared their crossbows. "Fire!" With that, they let loose their shots and each one nailed their target. A couple shots even hit those that were just peering over the ramparts. And if a shot was not enough to kill them, the nearby Rangers quickly finished them off as they staggered. The Veradan soldiers then started knocking over the ladders as Thalius spoke to the other Rangers. "We're retreating to the gatehouse up ahead. The walls are being overrun and we need a better position to defend from. Come with us and give us a few extra shots to work with. Unless you'd rather take your chances out here." He quickly explained. The leader of the Rangers there, wearing some kind of hard leather armor, along with a green bandana on his head (just like the rest of the rangers). "Strength in numbers as I always say... Lead the way then!" He said. "Good. Stay close, and dont fall behind." Thalius said. "Boys we got trouble!" They all turned around as one of the Veradan Rangers pointed behind them. One of the stairs in the distance had been overrun and undead warriors along with the spear men were climbing up. Plus a majority of the wall now had ladders placed on it as the weaker but numerous creatures started flinging themselves onto the ramparts. "If those spear-wielders reach us we stand no chance of surviving... Keep going! Move move!" Thalius commanded as he ran while loading another shot into his crossbow, and the group started their sprint once again.
My apologies, since it was so slow for a while I kind of got out of the habit of looking at this all the time. And I'm also getting back into my character. So just bear with me please, I'll get back into the groove of things. >_<
Don't worry Kumori, everyone here (even I am) is partially responsible for this speed xD. Besides, I'll probably need to go through my Character Sheet here again so I can remember how to play Naganori XP
Allure's Mist Debriefing
Upon returning to the outpost, the crystals were almost immediately taken from them by what appeared to be a Dwarven craftsman. With barely a word to the recruits, he took their items and began processing them into whatever he was working on. Varkasan never did understand the way the Dwarves worked when it came to their machines, potions, or even simple crafting. Though it did interest him, and he considered studying it in more detail whenever his duties did not keep him busy. After having a filling meal (in which Zalfn commented on how Dys could probably consume a week's worth of field rations in one day), they were led back to their sleeping quarters, which Varkasan was pleased to see was now a large tent. Bunk beds were already set up inside for them, as well as other pieces of furniture, and a corner for keeping their belongings in. "It seems like they're pampering us a bit too much. This is quite a lot of convenience for being a frontier outpost. But then again, after everything that's happened, I guess we could all use something to smile about. No telling when our next hardship will come upon us..." Varkasan thought to himself. After stripping off his armor and weaponry, and depositing them on the storage area, he made his way to the bunks wearing a white sleeveless shirt and shorts. He was sharing a bunk with a recruit he had seen in training, but wasn't really acquainted with. He was an older-looking fellow with balding hair who didn't seem to say much, but had the decency to vacate from Varkasan's bottom bunk and climb up to the upper one. Varkasan tried to make conversation with the recruit, but only managed to get the name "Hyner" out of him. Any other questions were answered only with silence. Varkasan took this to mean that Hyner didn't wish to speak about himself much. Nor did he show any interest to Varkasan's stories. A bit later, the heat seemed to start getting to the recruits, and Alicia even stripped down to her underwear, much to the surprise of a number of recruits. Though they were just as fascinated with her sudden undressing as they were with the odd tattoo she had on her stomach. Varkasan had caught a glimpse of it once during training. He remembered accidentally tearing her clothes at the belly during weapon sparring. After apologizing and asking about the mark she had on it (as he first thought it was a scar), she revealed it was a family tradition among them. Varkasan thought it was a strange one, but had the politeness to keep his opinion to himself. Eventually, he himself could barely stand the heat either and removed his shirt as he wiped the sweat off his body before trying to get some sleep. It helped somewhat, but if the temperature kept up until tomorrow, they would be baking inside their armor. He shut his eyes, and heard someone pass by his bunk, muttering "...can't believe someone took all the damn wine... Supposed to be ours... Never should've trusted Ulrich to watch it... Blooming idiot..." It said. Paying it little mind, Varkasan went back to sleeping. He knew he would need his energy for whatever awaited tomorrow.
Aegis' First Assignment
The next day, they were given their breakfast, and a new name for their unit: Team Aegis. It felt special to be given an official name recognized by Overlord Levran himself, but Varkasan knew they would need to live up to it as even their new captain, Aela, trusted them to grow into respectable warriors. They had a new assignment as well: they were to locate and raid a nearby cavern being protected by swords-for-hire, and confirm whether or not any illegal activity was taking place there. It sounded simple enough. "But then again, our bandit ambush mission sounded simple too... And it became anything but simple... Varkasan thought. As easy as this sounded, they needed to be ready for anything. One tragic defeat was painful enough. After the briefing had finished, they had went to retrieve their gear and arm themselves. Varkasan put on his Guardian armor, latched his shield on his back, and sheathed his sword. Thankfully, the heat had somewhat subsided and being inside the armor wasn't so punishing. He also packed some water and dried meat for the journey. Some troops were making idle chatter while waiting until their team was fully armed and ready to move out. "Ready to burn down some more brands, Team Aegis?" Alicia asked them in a joking manner. Though not a lot responded well to this attempt at humor, it was surprising to see the stone-cold Alicia trying to make merry. Dys supported her statement and clapped her strong hand on the girl. "I like the sound of that, Alicia von Eternus. Team Aegis, I know we've been through a lot, but we can get better for it. We are better for it. The horrors we saw... that's the reason we're fighting against the tyranny of Magic, right? They cannot be allowed to use lives, even the lives of bandits, as nothing more than playthings. Mages!... Mages, or bandits, or mercs, we'll teach them all what it means to be a Luminous Knight. We live to protect, and we live to serve. We'll be smarter, craftier, and more aware of the dangers of next time. We'll make our fallen proud, and our living prouder!" The Dwarf woman said with an energetic Dwarven salute. Varkasan saw Freiya sitting on one of the supply crates, grinning at what was happening. Though he couldn't tell if it was happiness or amusement. Either way, he added his own voice to raise their morale. "Indeed we shall! Together we will bring honor to the name: 'Aegis' and we will traverse even the entirety Altea to bring all who oppose her to justice!" He said with force as he raised his fist into the air. It was almost as if they were getting ready to charge into a bloody war, even though they were just going for a half-day trek and raiding a mercenary camp. But nonetheless, Varkasan thought it best to treat even the simplest of duties seriously so that they do not forget the importance of their role as Luminous Knights. Besides, half a day of walking was long, and keeping the morale up would be important to make sure no one got tired or lagged behind too quickly.
Another slow-posting bout... Well I'm not complaining that much, I've been busy these past few days due to various reasons. But I hope we can pick up the pace soon.
Back and no longer drowning in work, Thank Heavens... I'm gonna work on a post now. It probably wont be too significant, but it'll at least help us move along.
Am here. I'll try to write a post now, but if I can't finish it within the next couple of hours, I probably wont be able to post until Sunday as I'm going on a trip in a bit and I won't be able to write for any RP's until it's done...
Nariata decided to make the post a collaboration (I should know because I'm the person the collab is with). It's actually quite a long post, and things do start to get pretty hectic. I don't want to give too much details so it's not spoiled, but we will run into a couple interesting NPC's
