Mimi sat up straight in her bed. She was only half awake, still shaking off the fuzzy feeling.
"That was odd..." She mumbled to herself, slightly shaken by the more vivid details of the dream.
"...I wonder why they were all named mon?" With a slight shrug, Mimi brushed off the memory. Getting up and getting dressed, she went downstairs to find her mother preparing a breakfast suiting a conqueror like Mimi. She happily ate the breakfast, quickly feeling revitalized. Before she left, her mother handed her a bag of snacks to share with the other kids. What a great servant she was. What should a kid do without their snacks, after all?
With her backpack full of snacks, a package of bandages, and a seemingly misplaced pair of jeans, Mimi went outside. Outside, she saw there was no one else around yet. Usually there'd be several kids waiting to follow her around. Shrugging off the oddity, she headed to the grove where she usually gathered the others before embarking on her adventures. As she arrived there, she was once again surprised to find no one present. Climbing in the tree, higher than she was allowed to go, as she usually would, Mimi sat down on a thick branch.
"Odd." Would be her only comment before she noticed the shining light in front of her. Ever stranger was when some kind of...tiny cellphone? Materialized from it. After rubbing her eyes, Mimi could still see it. She piched herself, letting out a short
"OW!" as she realized she'd sqeeuzed to hard. The odd device was still there however. When a voice resounded from its general direction, Mimi jumped a little, before tilting off the branch...
Now staring at the device upside down, nothing really came to mind. The voice had said something about great peril, though, that was odd to her, very odd. Frowning at the device from her upside-down position, she figured she might as well see if it's real, since clearly she was awake. Reaching for the device, she found out it was just too far away. Mimi climbed back on top of the branch and carefully made her way over to the mysterious machine. As she once more reached for it, she was slightly disappointed. She now had it in her hand, but nothing special happened yet, or at least, she didn't feel particularly special. She figured speaking to whatever had spoken to her would be the least she should do.
"Um, hello? Mysterious, dramatic voice? What was that all about?" She'd continue poking the device, to no avail, until she eventually made a breakthrough. She finally realized why no one was here. They'd told her they would have to go to some picture thing, most of them, anyway, so she'd have to spend the day without them.
