Hello, there really isn't much to see here. :^D

In case you were wondering, yes, I drew my profile image. Do you like it? I think it has a depressing sort of beauty.

Disclaimer: I can sometimes be a little too honest, and my standards might be too high. People don't like that. But let it stand on record that I also view myself with the same light. I would not criticize others if I am not willing to take criticism myself. Be mature. Don't hold stupid grudges. If you've come here to scope me out, to find some shameful detail or quench some personal spite because my honesty upset you in some way, -- I'm sorry but there is nothing here for your desperate attempt at self-validation. I will settle the pettiness with an apology. Sorry. Happy?

I can't do anything more than that.

With much deliberation, I've come to the conclusion to leave this roleplay.

I've tried starting a few drafts over the past week, but after the initial burst of excitement, I've slowly found myself unmotivated to continue on. I find it disrespectful to keep making promises I cannot keep. I still think the overall concept is still great, but it's not where my heart lies at the moment. I'm sorry.

I'll promptly remove my sheet and you can determine my character's fate in the story.
Cheers, and good luck to all of you.
@Aristo I apologize for our rapid pace going forward. As the GM, I can't help but feel like it was failure on my end, regardless if it this something that had been warned about in the beginning. Even so, I am happy you told us about leaving at all. I was afraid you'd just disappear, as so many others surely would've gone that route.

You have my utmost respect, and I hope you best of luck in the future.
@RedXCross Since I was asked by the Co-GM, I will take the liberty to clear up your misconceptions. :^D

First, as stated by the title, this is a Modern setting with a Fantasy blend mixed in. Keeping that in mind, 'the world’s your oyster in the world of weaponry!' when it comes to the Warbrand. So long as it pertains to either genre, the type of weapon it may transform into is rather generous.

But they either have to be a 'Weapon' or a 'Machine'. The former being an actual weapon, in the most literal sense. You use it to bash people in, shoot 'em up. Whatever. While the latter is more abstract and serves to afflict enemies is less direct ways. It doesn't have to be scientifically sound, since this is part of the 'fantasy' aspect, but it still has to have some logic to the function. At least, that's how I interpreted this part of the Warbrand differentiation. There is a bit of vague and inconclusive data on this part, so we will convene with the GM to clear that up soon.

if you need an example, my character 'Terry' uses a special gas-controlling mask, which would be considered a 'Machine'. Be creative.

."..However, the select few who survive their initial touch of the Warbrand’s violent aura develop what we in the business call a Saving Grace. This grace is what holds you together, what drives you to fight. The love of a family member, the desire for vengeance, even the malicious contempt towards death itself. This will to survive..."

Their intention does not have to be malicious, nor do they have to be psychotic. Take my character for example, they view it as a means to prevent more pain, round-about as it may seem. Some might see it as a way to escape their current life-style, a way to grant a wish. There are many ways to go about this, you simply have to think broadly.
That's too confusing, Mr. Krabs.

TLDR; It's a theme (This one being based on six specific 'perceptive' senses) that helps give the all characters a specific feel that fits into the roleplay. Often it plays large role in the concept of the character and their warbrand, but it can be subtle too. That's about all there is to it.
@Obscene Symphony Should be the 'Zero' post in the character tab. :^D
Name: Terry Walshe
Age: 19

Appearance: Took the time to draw a short sketch of the character myself.

Description: Terry seems to be carry about an unending plague, a pale girl who doesn't seem to stop coughing into her handkerchief and addresses people with a sore and worn apologies. She is always sick with or to something. Flu, nausea, joint pains, migraines; you name it. Add in a laundry list of allergies and you'd have a life of being bed ridden like Terry. Luckily, with advancements to medication able to alleviate her, the young girl is able to live a somewhat regular life. At least what was once normal. Her body is naturally very frail, lanky and modest at most in regards height. She despises the thought of going outside. But at the same time, absolutely loves it. Rarely spending her time sleeping or idling, when her body allows her of course, her amber lit eyes are sunken with deep bags which seem to never go away because of her constant activity. Whenever she can, Terry leaves the confides of her cluttered room to take pictures of nature to help sooth her crumbled psyche. Her signature outdoors attire is a thick black and blue raincoat, olden film camera slung around her neck, and labeled pill-container sectioned with all the necessary medication tucked in her bag. Her departures often lead first with a hope that a simple debilitating fever is the worst of what she would inevitably contract.

Sensation: Smell

Warbrand: Her weapon in it's natural form appears in a puff of mist from her hands, the signature guard-less silver shortsword. Her skill with the weapon seems more granted than practiced, as though it is guiding the fragile girl during her haphazard swings. But one shouldn't take this lightly. Terry is a horrible warrior by nature, however, the weapon has found ways to turn her into a very capable killer.

Even in the base form, the weapon is noxious and steals the very oxygen and life from the air, leaving those around to be wracked in slow, hellish pain as they gradually get choked out. The slightest nick from the blade will also leave the wound overcome with a violent and festering disease. When fully transformed, the warbrand turns into an odd beaked-mask of sorts, resembling the infamous plague doctor's mask. At first one might question the nature of such a 'weapon', but would realize quickly to avoid the plumps of smoke bellow from the sides when she exhales. Serving also to sedate the troubled girl, it manifests her darkest emotions. Not only does the vile substance cover an area around the thin girl in obscurity, the mysterious black gas rapidly corrodes and rusts all it grazes and touches. With just one tiny breath, one would be wracked with unimaginable pain, their bodies viciously rotted from the inside out within mere moments.

The range is rather small when trying to cover a wide area. This is because there is a set amount of gas to her disposal. About the volume of a 15 x 15 square foot room. It bends to her will and she can guide it in streams or unleash it in a short shockwave.

Saving Grace: A photo of her friends in the children's hospital kept in a dull bronze locket. The guard on her warbrand dons the symbol of a dove, Terry's favorite bird and the sign of peace and innocence.

I was gonna ask to use that character again, but then I saw they were already included in the current roster. You know me too well, mate. Guess I'll chill here till things pick up. Cheers!
The only thing of value I can see you picking up would be the Lanterns, but I doubt any will survive the end of this encounter. Though, i won't say it's impossible to acquire one of these things, or fix them back to usable shape somewhere along.

EDIT: OH. You meant the guns too. Haha, dunno why I forgot about those... sure, why not.
Color my interest, laddies. If we can get even just two others, I'd be happy. Small groups are my favorite. :^D
Ah, hitting two birds with one stone, I like it.

With your character's ability, and considering that he had a chance to recover some stamina, doing something like that in the nick of time is simple enough. Though Aiv would take a form of recoil from the blast, as a result. A big recoil. Imagine a point-blank shotgun to the face kinda recoil. It's gonna hurt too, like a lot. He'll be taking a chunk of shrapnel somewhere. I'll let you determine the place yourself.

Won't do anything as of now, but accumulate enough of these minor injuries, and things will start to look pretty grim.
