ROLE: Mind
Name: Agate (for the small agate stone she found when she woke)
Age: 21
Height/Weight: 5’6”, 165 lbs.
Body type: slightly curvy in the hips and rear, but nowhere else. Definitely non-athletic.
Scent: clean and fresh, like a cold fall wind
Texture: soft, no hard places at all. Hands have never seen hard labor.
Appearance: Wavy brown hair, brown eyes, pale skin, round face. Paler than this picture.
Face markings: are invisible during the day, but glow in the moonlight:
Action tags: constantly brushing her hair out of her face, unless she’s upset, then uses it to hide her face. Stands with arms crossed, hands hugging her upper arms when upset. When at ease, clasps her hands behind her back. Leans on one leg often. Bites her lips when nervous. She keeps her agate stone in her pocket and plays with it sometimes for reassurance.
Verbal tags: “Um…” Speaks quietly, yet evenly most of the time. Medium-paced speech. Has an occasional stutter depending on her emotions. She has a high, fluty voice that is easy to miss in large conversations, but she can be shrill when she wants to.
Personality tags: Earnest, unassuming, sensitive, diplomatic, persevering, rational. She enjoys being of use to others, and will put aside her own needs to help out. She likes playing mediator in heated arguments--thinking like a lawyer gives her a sense of satisfaction.
Skills, Abilities, and Talents: She has an eye for sketching out what she sees. She is a good listener and knows how to get to the heart of the matter. She has wonderful insight, and will give advice when asked, but usually reserves her judgments for extreme situations. Her ability to see things from any point of view gives her the skills to find the perfect compromise.
Personality: Agate is a shy young woman who enjoys harmony and loves to laugh. She loves being a part of a group, but prefers to stay out of the spotlight. She is a tranquil presence, and rarely becomes upset. When she does feel down or off, she tries not to show it.
Admirable personality traits: Her unflappable demeanor. It’s difficult to offend her. She likes to find the bright side in every situation, despite her rational side.
Negative personality traits: She is intensely private. She is extremely uncomfortable with her own needs being seen to by others. However, she also secretly yearns for someone to take care of her. She bottles up her frustration and unleashes it in times of great stress.
Things that make her angry: People who are unwilling to compromise are infuriating to Agate because she sees them as averse to progress.
Fears: Any bug with more than six legs: spiders, centipedes. The way they move creeps her out. Intimacy. Casual and romantic touching scares her deeply. She instinctively keeps an arm’s length between herself and others.
Method of handling fear: Freezing up and running away. She stiffens when touched unexpectedly. She tries hard to suppress any romantic feelings she may have and pretends she feels platonically. She may squeal or shriek when startled, but extreme fear will strike her silent.
Bad habits or vices: Blowing up unreasonably and screaming with her high-pitched voice. She loses her voice easily when yelling for long periods. Sometimes she bites her lips so hard they bleed.
Most painful experiences in character’s past: She was raped as a teenager and sometimes has flashbacks that she doesn’t fully understand.
Summarize character’s Fatal Flaw: She wants badly to be truly close to someone but feels afraid and unable to express it. She needs to learn to express herself properly and let herself be vulnerable.
