Name: Cornelius Burrstone
Age: Thirty-three years old
Gender: Male
Nickname: ‘The Wry Slaver’
Race: Human
Skills: Cornelius skills do not lie in the area of physical ability, aside from being extremely good at cracking a whip. No, rather he relies on his quick wit and intelligence to get him out of an unfavourable situation or to turn the tides in his favour. He also speaks fluent Elvish, from a time when he had been very deeply interested with High Elven culture, and owns a vast collection of books, both fiction and non-fiction, old and new, of which he exhausts to no end.
Profession: Slaver
Religion: WIP Being from the North, Cornelius was taught to worship Norbr, God of Snow and Ice, naturally as his blessings were the ones of most relevance to the people of that region.
Equipment: Cornelius is dressed primarily in black wools, with the exception of his boots, which are fashioned out of high quality black snakeskin. A black woollen cape drapes over his left shoulder, hiding a whip of braided-leather, 10-metres long and wound at the hip. Two slaves accompany him, one a gaunt middle-aged man with sunken-dead eyes and a limp in his step and the other a halfling, with long knotted dirt-clod hair and a nervous smile. WIP
Personality:
Cornelius is a master of deception, who is able to twist and manipulate people to his accord if only on a whim. His heart has become cold and black from a lack of genuine interactions with others and the teachings his father instilled in him as a child. He believes that a relationship can only bring hurt and pain and misery and so chooses to avoid getting too close with another person. He is a hard and unforgiving slave master, who in the past has been known to dispose of slaves who step out of line. In public, however, he is well-mannered and kind-hearted, and walks with an air of likeability about him. His act is so flawless that people hardly ever second-guess it.
Backstory:
Cornelius was born at Rye; one of last remaining strongholds in the north and the oldest. His father, Percy Burrstone, was head of the Crow’s Council, a group of individuals who founded and controlled the new global slave-trade – a practice that has been outlawed since the early days of Amaroth’s destruction. From birth Cornelius was expected to follow in his father’s footsteps. At 14 he was given his first slave, a boy of 16 by the name of Khalzar, who Cornelius quickly became friends with. A few months later, Khalzar was sold off to an elven marauder for an undisclosed amount of money. This lesson was to teach the young Cornelius not to grow too attached to people, as it would only cloud his sense of good judgement as a slaver. The day after his 18th birthday, Cornelius officially joined the business.
