Lucina Cobbs/ Benjamin Daniels/NPC Goons
Cheers and playful banter emanated out of the military trucks as they sped down the back roads of the city. Everyone was looking for them, the news anchors on the flat screen TV above Luci scrambled to be the first station to have news on the attack on the Library as the goons kept changing the channel each news station was the same; mass confusion, chaos, mobs forming in the streets asking about their loved ones, something that Luci couldn't bear to watch as she lowered her gaze to her lap. Blood speckled her hands and forearms making her want to gag for the millionth time that day, all around her the goons seemed content with their bloody appearances, some much more covered than her.
Their happiness and jolly left a strange feeling in her immerse awkwardness overcame her as she struggled to look as casual as she could. How could they feel such a way? They killed a dozen people in the blink of an eye? Wait…she was responsible as well. At the realization she took a sharp intake of breath and let out a shaky breath, ‘It’s all…my…fault…’ If she hadn’t of knocked the guards out and given the people the guns they wouldn’t be dead, she could of just snuck away! The guilt she felt spread pain all over her body as the flashback began;
Luci found herself bringing up the rear as the goons ran down the libraries corridor having found that Kennedy’s Manifest they were searching for, she had never heard of such a thing and could only assume that it is very bad that they had it in their possession. She had tried to stay in the vault and wait till everyone had left but she was ushered into the running leaving her trapped. Once they came to the entrance she felt relieved that Jackdawl promised to let them live but slowly that relieve turned to dread. Panic swept over her and she began hyperventilating it growing worse once they pointed the guns at the people and fired. Her screams were muffled and everything went blank…
And now she was here, in this military truck. Her hand reached into her vest and felt the think vanilla folder and she smiled slightly, she still had it. It was her ticket to freedom really, something to get Akira to get her out of here. She reached into her pocket to take out her cellphone, “Hey Angela you ok sugar?” She froze looking up from behind the visor to see a brunette elf like man looking down at her with confusion and worry in his features, she swallowed and nodded and in a tiny voice, “I’m just really tired.” He smiles and yawns, “Ya we all are been up since four in the morning and didn’t finish till now huh?” Someone throws a can at his head and he flips around punching the guy square in the jaw, laughter erupts again even the guy who got punched is laughing, this terrifies her further.
With the attention off her once again, she quickly reaches into her pocket and pulls out her phone. The batteries low but she doesn’t care as she punches out the fastest long text she’s ever sent, ‘Akira I’m not in the library anymore the missionaries came and the terrorists left…and I’m with them. I had to disguise myself in order to get inside the vault to save someone, but I didn’t save him actually I have no idea where he is or if he’s alive but he saved my life today and I just wanted to repay the favor. I have official information on OF with me from the vault as well it’s pretty thick. The terrorists don’t expect a thing but that could change soon but don’t try and follow me it’s not safe. I’m…well im alive and I guess that’s all that matters, I’ll try to text you the address and go from there. Be safe.’ She sent the message and leaned her head back against the wall silent tears falling down her face.
