Leaving 20 September until 30 October. Going to be a shitty time in the field. Probably going to be a week after that before I even think about writing again.

I really appreciate your patience
Oliver jumped just a tiny bit when Sanguine was stepping out of the armoury at the same time as he was. She seemed pleased by his choice of equipment, but he just shrugged in response, not sure what to tell her. She explained that she'd arranged for their transportation home, and that sounded good to him. He chuckled when she expressed worry that their npcs might cause some issues. "Garreth and Jan will sort them out." he assured the guild leader. And if they weren't sorted out by the time they left, they would be sorted out thoroughly when they got back. "Ready when you are." he agreed, nodding, and gesturing for the vampire to lead the way. He figured it would be best to let the glorious leader lead the way. Plus he didn't mind the view at all, and thought it prudent to take advantage of such an opportunity since it had presented itself.

It wasn't a long walk to the teleportation room, but it was definitely an enjoyable one for the Paladin. As long as his boss was in front of him, the Cleric was perfectly happy to follow. Of course, he paid enough attention to his surroundings that he could avoid being caught, should such evasive maneuvers be required. He hadn't put so much time and energy into training to be a peerless warrior just to be taken down by not paying attention. He wasn't so concerned about the vampire's opinion, since she seemed to like him at least as much as he liked her, but he didn't know how she felt about their underlings being aware of such shenanigans, and didn't want to upset her unnecessarily...
Sorry about the wait again, this week has been crazy
All righty. I haven't had much in the way of ideas, but I will work on it.
That sounds... interesting...
Nope, it really isn't. Especially changing units again and dealing with new shenanigans at an old unit.
sorry about the wait.
Oliver didn't know what to tell Sanguine when she said she missed regular food. He supposed even the best flavour would get old if that was all you could taste. He considered that while he enjoyed the delicious variety of things he had in front of him, until, too soon of course, he was full. Before he could do much of anything, though, it seemed that his glorious leader already had plans. The paladin couldn't argue with that, so when she handed him letters, he supposed that would be a good place to start. She then headed off to do something else, while the warrior took care of his own tasks.

This time, he hefted his massive sword onto his shoulder, the hilt poking out backward, as he headed off to find Garreth and Jan. There was a fifty-fifty chance he'd find them together, probably fighting, or they'd be at opposite ends of the guild hall working on whatever shenanigans kept them occupied while they weren't fighting either each other, or the guild's enemies. He lucked out this time, and the two were in full armour, arm-wrestling like their lives depended on it. It didn't matter who won. It never did. This was just another link in a mind-blowingly long chain of competitions the two would engage in.

"Aaand, it's a tie! Cut that shit out." the sword-toting guild warrior declared as he walked up. The two generals begrudgingly ceased their struggle so that Oliver could toss letters at them. "Jan, put together a ten man troop of light cavaliers. Garreth, put together a section of warriors. Not spearmen. Make sure they don't mind roving around a lot. Your soldiers are going to pose as mercenaries. There's more instructions in the letters. And, this isn't a money-making scheme, so make sure that they undercut the competition a bit. They aren't rivals either, so don't start that shit. We're here to make a name for ourselves as quickly and as positively as possible."

With that, he turned and walked away. The generals could handle it, they just needed to be reminded of the big picture occasionally, when they were being people, they tended to get caught up in their rivalry. So while they took care of the mercenary business, the Cleric decided he should go and pick out some equipment. Since they were just adventuring around he figured it would be better to look the part, rather than roaming around like the demigod he seemed to be in this place. He picked over the armoury, kitting himself out more like a common mercenary. He traded his kukri and greatsword in for a bastard sword and a tomahawk, and he traded in his favourite custom armour for a more typical hauberk, though he still refused to carry a shield.

Outfitted like this, he looked a lot more like any old mercenary, though there was still an air of lethality about him that most mercenaries didn't get until they'd gone grey. Now he just had to find Sanguine so they could take off. He didn't remember her telling him where to meet her, though, so he supposed some more wandering was in order...
Oh neat!
Oliver got dressed slowly. He was supposed to be in charge, so he saw no reason to rush. He picked out a practical but still handsome outfit, and got himself ready for the day ahead. He wanted to look like a real adventurer for when they went to join the guild, but realized he didn't know what a real adventurer looked like around here. He supposed that back when this was just a game, he'd worn whatever had the best stats. He wasn't sure that was still a thing, but supposed that strange attire couldn't be too far out of the question. Eventually he went with comfortable. Once he was dressed, he strapped on his weapons, electing to lug his gigantic sword over one shoulder, rather than sling it on properly. He was just going to breakfast after all.

And of course he was late. The only person whose waiting he really cared about was already sitting down. "Morning! Sorry I took so long..." he offered the vampire, noting at the same time that she looked exquisite, as always. He couldn't help but smile at the sight of the woman, wondering how long she'd actually cuddled with him the night before. "What's for breakfast?" he asked the room. He wasn't sure if their glorious leader was already informed, or if it was a surprise. Either way, he was sure it would be delicious, and he prepared to sit down as quickly as he could. First he had to do something with his sword, though, and he couldn't very well hang it off the back of his chair. After a couple of seconds, he gave up and leaned it against the wall closest to his seat before getting settled.

He was just in time, too, as the doors to the kitchen were thrown open as he got comfortable. A small parade of servants was whisked in and out, each of them dropping off a single item critical to their leaders' enjoyment of breakfast. Each of them got their own assortment of morning meal accouterments to go with their most important banquet of the day, and Oliver was incredibly excited to watch the covers come off the serving trays. Eggs from barely cooked to over hard, and from plain scrambled to Benedict, a whole variety of breakfast meats, including several things he didn't recognize, bread and bagels in multiple styles, and a platter of neatly diced fruit, and any and all the condiments one could imagine for such a feast. There was no way he could eat even half of it. He supposed he would just have to hope that someone else would be eating breakfast after him. He was about to start helping himself when he realized he hadn't see what Sanguine had for breakfast. He wasn't sure what vampires would even eat for breakfast, so he took a quick peek over the veritable mountain of breakfast to see what she'd been served. He just hoped she found it as delicious as he was convinced that everything in front of him was...
