History

Biography|

Eliza Nguyen grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other. Born to a Vietnamese father and French mother she was raised under the pressure of academic excellence along with a younger sister. It was because of this she developed bad eating and sleeping habits that took a heavy toll on her body. Stress eating was the only way she could cope with trying to be a perfect child. Unfortunately, her peers didn’t take too kindly with her appearance as she didn’t fit society’s impossible standard of “beauty”. The outcome of this was severe bullying throughout middle and high school. Even her younger sister joined in the taunting. Eliza became severely self-conscious and fell into depression.
It wasn’t until she got away from the hellish town and went to college did she aspire to quit her habits and improve her health and body. She became so self-absorbed with becoming fit that she cut out her past life completely. After graduating college with an exercise science degree, she disconnected herself from the small town and her family.
Eventually she opened a blog titled “Strength and Love” that focused on the fitness and fashion aspect of her life garnering a reasonably large number of following. After a while, she moves to Suncrest to accept a personal trainer job with a top-level gym. Doing everything in her power to leave what she considered a shameful past behind and try to leave a more positive impact on herself and others around her.

A Memory|

Towards the end of senior year Eliza opens her locker to find it trashed with spoiled food and slurs written all over. Pictures of the incident collected on social media and the few friends she had were too embarrassed to associate with her. Later finding out that her younger sister who was a Sophomore at the time, helped orchestrate the cruel prank. It ended up being a trigger in Eliza’s life to leave everything behind and start anew.

Struggles|

Eliza is still too self-conscious about herself and runs away from her past even if it means losing her family. She has not yet figured out what she truly wants to do with her life; career or romantically. She was too busy transforming herself to even consider dating. But at the moment she is struggling whether or not the possibility of being bisexual. In terms of experiencing bullying, she tries hard to never come in contact with those who have bullied her in highschool. She hasn't spoken a word to her younger sister ever since she left the hell hole.

Family|

Father: Thanh Nguyen; hardworking man who immigrated from Vietnam to America to pursue a better life and works hard owning a restaurant to ensure the success of his two daughters. He and his wife continually tries to contact Eliza to check up on her to no avail.
Mother: Elle Nguyen (nee Durand) co-owns a French-Viet restaurant in a small town. Cares for her daughters but is also strict and not easy to please.
Siblings: Sister Alice Nguyen; 2 years younger than Eliza they haven’t spoken since Eliza left home. Was mean and critical towards Eliza throughout their childhood because of her appearance calling her the “Ugly Duckling” of the family.

Avatar: The Fallen Order

Fire Nation Capital Order Embassy

It has been 2 weeks after the incident with the avatar being revealed. The world was in a panic as to what would happen next. The thought of her goal never left her mind when it occurred and since there was no word from the higher ups yet, she put all of her focus on training. The young woman vigorously sparred with a couple of Order grunts. Successfully taking down 4 of them with ease. The years spent under harsh training paid off, as Nora became a superb bender. She was going to be turning 19 in just a month, yet she was better than a good half of the older benders that are still stuck doing grunt work. Of course, there was always room to grow, she wasn't nearly as good as the top benders in the Order. One of them being her father, who she hasn't even seen in a week since the avatar revealed himself.

Nora finished up training and headed back to her room within the embassy to change out of her sparring outfit. There wasn't much in her room, a bed, a closet, a few scholar scrolls. She devoted her life to the Order, and never stepped anywhere outside the Fire Nation Capital.

Suppertime was almost upon them and Nora was ready to head to the dining hall when a knock on the door took her by surprise. Then entered her father followed by 2 bodyguards, one of them holding a small red box embellished with gold.
"Father, what brings you by?" Eliza bowed at his presence.
When she leaned back up, the man placed a hand on her shoulder.

"My beautiful strong Nora. As you know the news of the avatar has been spreading around and by now everyone is on the hunt for him." He spoke in a solemn tone. He continued,
"There are now rumors that the avatar escaped to the Earth Kingdom. Some of our own agents are already out there on the hunt for him, I have spoken to the council and they've agreed to let you do the same." Nora couldn't believe the words coming out of her father's mouth.
She bowed once more, "Thank you for this opportunity father I won't let you or the Order down." Her heart pounded with excitement as the day that she dreamed of finally arrived.

"Because it will be your birthday soon, I have a gift for you." One guard steps forward with the box and lifts up the lid. Her father reaches his hand in and pulls out a necklace with a pendant in the shape of a lily with a small symbol of the order in the middle. He links it around her neck and steps back.
"You will leave by tomorrow morning and travel to the Order Embassy in Ba Sing Se." Her father leaves without another word leaving Nora to her thoughts. She was too busy in her thoughts to eat dinner and immediately began packing. The world outside the Fire Nation Capital awaited for her, she could finally go and achieve her dream of taking down the Avatar.

Ba Sing Se
It's been almost 2 weeks since she left home. She was accompanied by 2 grunts as they finally reached Ba Sing Se. On the way to the embassy, a commotion catches her eye as she stops to spectate. She joins the crowd in the middle of laughter. She wondered what was funny and eyed the boy dressed up in water tribe gear trying to fend off guards and someone of his aquantaince stepping in. Curious to see how the boy will get away, Nora stands within the crowd watching on.

Because in reality she is the type to hate fighting, although somehow violence always finds a way to her. She’s not much of a team-player but isn’t arrogant or prideful when it comes to group work. The most redeeming quality is that Mirela has a heart for looking out for others despite her mannerisms and demeanor.

Medium Talent:
Hellfire: Similar to pyrokinesis- she has the limited ability to summon heat/flames from her hands. Except these flames are blue and can only affect ghosts and those who have ties to them (aka other mediums.) They cannot harm a regular human being. On the limitation that she has, the “hellfire” cannot be projected from her- it only stays on her hands. When ghosts get near the fire they can be revealed/outlined by the light. The worse these flames will do to them is weaken them and minor burns.

Hand to Hand Combat: Her days shaking down low lives for information made her proficient in close combat. With the manifestation of her medium talent, the talent was most efficient with the use of close combat.
MultiLingual: Having been all over Europe and Asia, she has picked up a few languages on the way.

She spent all of her childhood roaming around Europe scrapping to get by while everyone saw them as trash. As means of money, her mother did tarot card readings while Mirela went out and about doing whatever odd jobs she could get as a young girl. When she was just a young teen, her mother fell ill and since they didn’t have the money for treatment, she passed away quickly. From then on Mirela was on her own, she left the group caravan and found work as an information broker in the slums. People paying money for her to get information out of good-for-nothing thugs or criminals on the streets. It wasn't an easy life but it taught her many things.
The events of her childhood led her to act tough because rainbows and sunshine had no chance of survival. The death of her mother unknowingly sparked the medium talent inside of her. It wasn’t long when the SEO saw Mirela’s potential and offered her a job dealing with ghosts. With a chance to help others on a whole new level and the opportunity to get away from the criminal underground world, she sprung at the chance. Though her power is new to her, she hopes to cultivate it and become strong enough to help everyone she comes across.

House of Powers (reboot)

Eliza listened carefully while the others shared their own opinion on what was happening to them. When someone mentioned that they should ask their trainers, Eliza couldn’t think of a reason to even bother, anything she would say to the guy would just spark a fight. Then again if their trainers did go through the same thing, it would help Eliza understand what power she’s suppose to have. After a while of talking she began to wonder why the people in the facility hasn’t stepped in yet. They must have noticed something gone awry. Maybe they were watching closely how the group is reacting to the powers?

The day’s events took a toll on her energy as Eliza wondered when the next meal would roll around. Most importantly, they were promised phone calls for the day. She assumed it would be by the end of the day but Eliza grew even more anxious just thinking about it. Though for her, she didn’t have anyone to call besides her sister. And with what had happened in New York, she wasn’t all too excited about hearing Elaina’s voice. But it would be nice to let someone know what is happening. At the very least get some sympathy out of dear old sis.
Eliza remained passive in the rest of the conversation as people argued about the safety of these powers or lack thereof. When it came to thinking up places to avoid, all Eliza could say about that was avoiding the pen that she touched in her room. She gave the idea of powers actually existing a chance since she wasn’t in a mood to argue.

“I guess in my case I’m going to avoid pens since touching one seems to have triggered something for me.” Eliza sighed at that ridiculous notion but the slight pain throbbing in her head reminded her that it was for the best.
