In Depth Appearance
Maddox has an appearance that, at the very least, can be described as quite average. He stands around six feet, one inch and weighs something like one hundred and seventy pounds. He is well-built, toned from years of swordplay and hunting. He has light hair, kept short, and dazzling blue eyes that crinkle whenever he smiles. Maddox often keeps his chin and cheeks slightly stubbled, and he has been known to let a slight beard grow on his chin and along his jawline. He has very few scars, having never seen a real battle, but he does bear a light scar along his left cheek from a blade that went astray. As his role requires, he dresses well in dark shades of reds and purples, colors that symbolize royalty.

Personality
Maddox is a man who has grown up wanting very little in his entire life except the approval of his mother and father. He comes off as spoiled and bratty, which certainly isn't wrong. He often acts will little regard for the consequences of his actions, even though if he thought his choice through more carefully, he certainly would be more capable of better decisions. Maddox is quick to anger, and he releases his anger verbally with hardly any filter.
It is a shame, for Maddox certainly would have an intelligence to rival any opponent if only he were to tame his anger. He is also quite immature, which does not help his thought process. Maddox views war as nothing more than a large game with high stakes. He is a risk taker through and through.
Still, Maddox is well-spoken from years of being tutored to take over Abhainn. He knows much in the ways of the history of the two kingdoms. He craves a challenge in every day life, though he certainly still grows frustrated with any opponent, animate or not, that he can not overcome. His ambition is startling, for when he is knocked down, he comes back stronger and more determined than before.

Background
Scandal has followed Maddox as long as he has known life. He was born to King Frederick the Sixth by a mistress, though attempts were made to pass the boy off as the Queen's true born son. These lies lasted very briefly, for it was quite common knowledge that Frederick's wife was infertile, unable to provide him the heir he needed to continue the line of royalty in Abhainn. While his "mother" never grew to accept the bastard child, Maddox received Frederick's full attention. As such, he was spoiled despite his father's efforts to instill leadership and wisdom in the boy. As Maddox grew up in a war-ravaged country, he became fascinated with the conflict. Often, returning knights would find him running after their horses, begging for a report of the situation.
His father urged the boy to focus his passion into his studies, and though Maddox was reluctant at first, he eventually grew to love studying history, the tales of soldiers and their kings who fought valiantly for Abhainn. Maddox was in his teens when his father announced the plans for the treaty that would end the war and unite the kingdoms through marriage. The boy shut down, growing distant and gloomy as his past time was snatched out from under him.
Maddox channeled his frustration into drinking and sleeping around. Perhaps his apathy was what drove Frederick to the grave when Maddox was twenty-four. He was coronated shortly after, ascending to his father's throne as he had been expected to do since infancy. In recent years, he has certainly grown more lively and interested in his studies, perhaps preparing himself for something greater.
