Given the distance between the two men, and the height advantage possessed by David, he had little worry that the kick was actually intended for his head. The other man would have to completely give up his balance and commit entirely to the attack, and even then the odds of reaching his head were not good thanks to the positioning of his back foot. So when the kick instead came in at his stomach, he twisted his torso to catch it on his right side (also cutting its journey off prematurely and thus limiting the power behind it) and wrapped his right arm around the extended limb, trapping it against his body. From there, he moved forward rapidly, left hand still held in a guard position, and attempted to push Dylan off balance and onto the ground.

If successful, he would then use his new-found leverage to get on top of Dylan and begin driving punch after punch at the other man, alternating the powerful blows between his head and ribs.
David landed the blow and returned to his initial stance as the other man retreated, gaining distance to regroup. "Backing out already? We haven't even gotten started." Keeping his arms in a guard position, he advanced on the man, leading foot first, never letting his steps cross or his stance grow too narrow. He stopped when his left foot was just in front of Dylan's, their stances opposing each other now that the other man had switched to a leftie posture. "Care to give it another go?"
Correction: The character Adrian despises can think 30x faster than a normal human. His maximum movement speed (for the time being) is only a bit above 10x peak human, and that's strictly limited to burst speed. His maximum sustainable speed is actually slower than Shen's up there. Though that is with a significant nerf on his full potential. If I took him as far as he could go, he'd be at the top end of the high tier.

And I'd say Shen would be a good intermediate tier character. Untill he starts slaughtering armies... Though you didn't mention heat levels of anything but the sword buff and didn't mention any energy drain specifics at all. Since this isn't my thread, I won't presume to tell you they're necessary, but generally the more detail you have about that kind of thing the less nervous your opponent will be about potential abuse.
Thanks. :) it's now your post, my friend.
If you're not sure, just read some of the other intro posts to get an idea. Most of them introduced their character both personality-wise and skill-wise, showing how they see the world and what it is they're good at.

If you need a location, Red-6 is where we're all meeting so you could start there if you want. Maybe run into one or two of the others once they get there (or if they already are). Just work it out with them before you do.
Six let out the breath he'd only just realized he'd been holding once Hessta was in his ship and on his way. That could have gone a lot worse. It was a good thing the lizard was willing to listen to reason. SIx was fast, sure, but he hadn't been very far outside the range of those swords. In all likelihood, he figured he would have gotten one (maybe two) shots in before a gun became useless and there were pieces of Six strewn all over the floor. Good thing it hadn't come to that. He needed this team to work.

Climbing back into his own ship, he settled down into the pilots chair and queued up the provided list of assets and target. "Ellie, show me the asset closest to our current position."

"One moment." The ship went silent for exactly one second before her voice chimed up again. "It seems the nearest active asset is less than two hundred parsecs away in the Perinni system. It will take us approximately seven hours to reach its location."

Six, who had been scrolling through a list of recent cinema releases while Ellie talked, froze when he heard the last part. "It?"

"Yes, Sir. The asset is an automaton."

"Huh..." He leaned back and brought his hand to his chin in thought. "Does it have any particular habits? Any programming quirks I should know about?"

"None reported. Its current behavior suggest a desire to accumulate wealth, at the expense of Gortex's holdings."

"I guess that's why Dax picked it. I wonder why a machine would have a grudge against Gortex..."

"I am unable to provide an answer to that query."

"Forget it, Ellie. Just plot us a course and queue up a movie to watch on the way. Something with lots of action and a bit of romance. And a good sex scene. Always gotta have a good sex scene."

"Yes, Sir."

The ship lifted gracefully off the platform and rocketed towards orbit, leaving Corvais well in its wake as Six headed off to find this mysterious automaton with a hatred circuit. He'd just need to stop off and borrow one of Gortex's freighters first...
Nine Hours Later...

The freighter Six had "borrowed", a ship by the name of "Frisky Business" according to the registry, had been forced to drop out of FTL to navigate a nasty stretch of asteroid cloud/neutron star cluster along a particularly dangerous route. The route was ostensibly a shortcut for freighter captains such as those Gortex had hired to fly this ship, and while it did shave almost a whole day off the travel time, the risk of pirates at this particular juncture was almost one hundred percent. It also happened to be smack in the middle of this Midas fellows most recent hunting grounds in the Perinni system. Six himself sat in his own ship, docked in the cargo hold with the canopy wide open, feet propped up on the primary instrument panel as he polished his favorite pistol. Well, one of them at least. The Frisky Business lumbered along at a snails pace as it navigated the asteroid cloud, its single cannon working overtime to keep as many asteroids off the shields as possible.

"Now we've just gotta wait..."
Well, basically using your own trick against you.
Pretty much just arrive on Red-6. We'll all be meeting there to recruit/run into those that are there already before going to our mothership and starting our first mission. Feel free to run into each other before I arrive.
He's a pirate right? Because if so, I have an idea.
He let the foot pull his own to the side, and when it stopped he simply adjusted his back foot to compensate and recovered before the other man's offending foot had made it back to the floor. With a stance as even as his, it would take more than a few inches to unbalance him. When the punch came, he slipped to the left and aimed a counter strike at Dylan's right kidney, using his left hand to deliver a hook at the exposed side while keeping his right in a guard position.
