A second gust sent the flames back at their source, bursting free of the mouth of the cave and almost instantly melting a significant portion of the snow that rested on the plateau. Unless the wolf-man had managed to move himself, the flames would strike him as well, though Arthur held little hope that they would cause any damage. If he could harness that much heat from within himself and not combust, it was hard to imagine that the outside was any less inflammable.

Even before the flames had died, Arthur burst forward in the wake of his counter-attack, using his ability to grip the walls, floor, and ceiling of the cave and pull himself toward the wolfman at a pace that a human eye would be unable to register, in spite of the intense backdraft that would be occurring. As he neared, his hands reached out to grasp both the bottom and top of the wolf's jaws and pull them closed, cutting off the flames before they could do anything more than burn a hole through the suit vest and dress shirt he wore. Hot as they were, he had little fear of damage from such brief exposure, even at this close a range. If the grab was successful he would deliver a small electrical charge, one meant to render the other man's limbs rigid and unresponsive in order to prevent a counterattack, and fling him bodily back into the cave by the muzzle.
Giovanni is a student of the human body. You could ask Ichthys if there was anything about the cloaked man's hands he might have noticed that was out of the ordinary, or if he examined the bodies of the dead hunters perhaps he would draw a possible connection between the man's aptitude for fire magic and the deformation of the hunters faces (I can send you the PM I got from Ichthys regarding the wounds on the bodies, if you'd like).

Or go in depth with the ritual itself and the feelings and sensations followed by the marks he received and spare only a sentence or two for the escape. That could be a good way to tie in the actual beginning of the story with the character's past.
I'm in the chat, if anyone's available. More brainstorming!
"It's Greystoke, actually." He stood from the crate he'd been working in, an upside down five clearly legible on the open lid, though the contents would be obscured by said lid from the view of those at the cave's entrance, and closed it carefully before walking around it and toward the group that had assembled to oppose him. "I remember a child dedicated to violence, and I see now that twenty thousand years has done little to change that. One would think that suffering would beget wisdom, but clearly it has had the opposite effect." He stopped then, no more than twenty feet between himself and Adrian, and a wind with the force of a hurricane suddenly blossomed around him and rushed toward the mouth of the cave, where it would strike the assembled trio and in all likelihood hurl them out onto the small plateau outside the cave. The tight confines of the cave itself would render an attempt to avoid the wind fruitless, though it was possible that one or more of their number would have the means to resist it. If so, it would be those individuals he would engage first.

The wind, while powerful, would be exceedingly brief, due to the limited amount of air the cave could contain, and it would be followed immediately by a backdraft of air rushing in to replace that which had just vacated. Those thrown clear of the cave would be unaffected by this backdraft, but anyone able to resist the initial wind would likely find their efforts turned against them when struck by its equal and opposite reaction.

In the event that all three of his assailants were thrown free of the cave, he would continue to the entrance and halt just outside, waiting and watching as they recovered.
I doubt it. Adrian is gonna be a little busy. ;)

Speaking of that, were you going to post, Important?
English has origins in french and spanish, yet I can understand neither of those languages. Nascar has origins in chariot racing, yet no one will argue that a team of horses can win a race against a superpowered car. Catch wrestling itself has origins in jujutsu and judo (apparently). Simply because one thing stemmed from another does not mean that the two things are comparatively similar. If Royce was curled up in a fetal position, he wasn't doing it right.

Just watched the Royler vs Kazushi fight. Kazushi didn't win because he was a wrestler, he won because he was a better grappler. Pioneers though they may be, the Gracie's stopped winning as soon as other fighters started learning grappling instead of wrestling. Kazushi wasn't trying to control Royler's entire body, all he needed was one arm. That's essentially what Jiu Jitsu boils down to. Can a wrestler beat a grappler? Yes, they can. Is it the most likely outcome? Not at all.

But all of this is entirely beside the point of this thread, which is to go to coruscant and kill each other. If someone wants to continue the wrestling vs grappling debate, by all means feel free to PM me.
Not as odd as you may think. The first time I lost a pet I cried every night for days, though admittedly I was still a child.
I vote for one of the faster opponents.
From what I can tell (though I'm definitely no expert, having only heard of it a few hours ago), catch wrestling differs little from Jiu Jitsu grappling as far as the principles behind them are concerned. The variation of wrestling I'm referring to is collegiate and high school wrestling.
"Oh, right. Because I'm going to just go ahead and ignore the fact that you're pointing a giant glowing drill bit at my heart." Even as he spoke, Arty himself began compounding energy into his left arm again and stalking to his right, moving to place Max between himself and the gunman in an effort to force him to split his attention. It was time to play a little monkey in the middle, except now it was a giant lizard instead of a primate, and instead of trying to keep something away from him they were trying to kill him. Still, there were some similarities.
