Profile

Name. Light Yagami
Age. 18 years
Birthday. February 28
Occupation. Student
Height. 5'10.5
Weight. 119 lbs

Appearance

Light is a young man, standing at above average height with light-brown hair and brown eyes. During Part I, when not wearing his school uniform, which consists of a tan suit and red tie, he dresses fairly casually, sometimes sporting a dress shirt underneath a jacket or a V-neck sweater with a collared t-shirt underneath. During Part II, if not wearing a similar style of clothes, he is seen wearing a suit.

He is considered to be quite handsome, a trait noted by Misa Amane and Kiyomi Takada, among others.

In this AU, due to lack of running water, Light would have a harder time keeping up his appearance. As a result, he'd default to even more casual clothing—dark colored pants, plain t-shirts, sports jackets, and similar such clothes that are either easy to wash or hard to get dirty.

Yeah. If anything, I'd rather her room be extremely confidential, such that only workers who know about Tyssa can contact her. We don't need to have the security details worked out, but I just wanted to make sure that 1) there is some sort of security measure to contacting Lyre, and 2) that security measure is near-impossible to be hacked.

Anyway, if we agree on that, let's continue!

All this for the sake of writing in-character dialogue aaaaa I'm sorry
The Death Note was gone.

In the early morning, when Sachiko was out at the refugee center, when Sayu and Soichiro were fast asleep, Light Yagami had gone to retrieve the book from its now-unusable hiding chamber. As he'd stepped into the taped-off part of his home, what met him was smashed lumber, torn pieces of cotton, and with a couple more hours of searching he realized: the Death Note is gone.

Light cursed inwardly. Clearly he put too much trust in the daily forecast.

"Light?" His sister's voice interrupted his train of thought. When Light blinked down at her, her head was tilted in concern. "What's wrong?"

"Oh, I..." he answered sheepishly, quickly allowing his own expression to mirror Sayu's troubled one. I let my guard down. "I'm just worried about Dad. He's growing old, you know. I'm not sure if his injuries will heal in the most ideal way."

Sayu's brow furrowed. "Yeah, I'm- I'm really worried too. What if..." She drew in a breath. "What if he..."

"Don't worry, he'll survive. What's concerning is if he'll ever be able to work again."

Sayu nodded silently. She looked slightly relieved at the reassurance, but lines of worry still marked her young face.

Light offered her a consoling smile. "Cheer up, Sayu. We're almost home, and we got medicine."

The smile he just showed his sister, however, all but disappeared in a couple seconds. Who was that at their front doorstep? Light's eyes narrowed. A friend of Sayu's? No, that girl isn't from around here. I need to keep her from—

Too late. Light's sister had already approached the blonde stranger. "Hey, are you looking for somewhere to stay?" Sympathy tinged her voice.

Light pursed his lips, about to protest when Sayu spoke again.

"Come on, Light," She turned to look at her brother with a self-assured, yet pleading, expression. Could she read his mind? "We have an extra room. And Mom would totally agree with me."

"Why don't you actually ask her why she's here first?" He approached the stranger, carefully positioning himself between her and the door. Light's height would initially tower over the blonde girl's, but he made an effort to bend down to meet her eye-level, giving her a reassuring smile. "I'm Light, and that's my sister. We live here. Do you need something?"
And is Lyre's testing room confidential? I want to know if the means of contacting Lyre are public or not.
Sorry, that reply was pretty short. Do you mind telling me who man on the phone with Lyre is, or what you got planned for this plot? I might need to edit what I already have.
"Smoothly," replied Lyre, narrowing her eyes at the approaching figure beside her. She didn't take her gaze off of Tyssa even after it paused. The last thing she needed was to alarm the other departments and have her specimen taken out of her supervision—she could hardly trust others to handle it, and Lyre would be left with all the blame once testing failed.

"I'll let you know myself when Test A is ready to be moved over. Unless you have something else to say to me?" Lyre's voice was tinged with irritation. A slight difference that one often working with her often would notice, but a stranger may have attributed the clipped way she spoke to Lyre's introversion or awkwardness.
Your orphanage for supernatural kids sounds promising. I may be up for that.
Death Note plots! Death Note plots!!!!!

Edit: I sent you a PM. I got too ahead of myself and wrote everything in this post.
Lyre Moneaux

Profile

Name. Lyre Moneaux
Age. 16
Pronouns. she/her
Color. 89cff5
Occupation. Computational biologist (currently hired by the national intelligence agency for research purposes)
Height. 158cm/5'2
Weight. 42kg/92lb

Appearance

Lyre is a short and petite girl with chopped black hair and pale skin. No tattoos, but her arms and fingers are dotted with various scars from skin-picking. Her eyes are a dull blue—pale gray in dim and regular lighting, a soft blue in brighter environments. She is light-skinned and without freckles.

For casual purposes, she often wears a thin sky-blue hoodie, old sweatpants, plain white socks, and faded navy-blue sneakers. For work, she wears some old t-shirt, the same sweatpants, a gray vest, and newer black ankle boots (without heels).

Relationships

Tyssa. Indifferent
"Certain others will give you missions. Your job is to accomplish those missions." Lyre spoke carefully, understanding that every word she uttered would hold significant impact on the newborn specimen. Encouraging its brain to wire itself the right way was essential to its utility for her higher-ups. Not to mention the millions of dollars gone to waste if they decide to dispose of Test A. I should be aware of all my actions.

"Your missions will-" A call ringing into the room interrupted Lyre mid-sentence. She froze in place, and the telephone rang a few times before the scientist finally gathered herself enough to wade those few steps towards the incoming call. Like Tyssa, Lyre too was sensitive to external stimuli.

Her eyes narrowed instantly upon seeing the caller number. It's the government alright, but... Lyre's gaze glanced over the final four digits, the ones corresponding to each department office, who is this?

In any other situation, Lyre would've simply rejected the call. Given the current circumstances however... Do I really have a choice? She reached for the telephone, keeping careful watch on the doors and Tyssa.
