Personality
Cold * Unpredictable * Cynical *
Personality: Lucian could care less what’s going on in the world, as far as he’s concerned, its turned its back on him. One could compare him to a stick of dynamite, unpredictable and short-fused. Most time, when you burn him out, he’ll blow up. Sometimes, he’ll do nothing at all about it. Situations will either explode, or burn itself out. He insists on not letting people very far into his world. Sure, he’ll throw you a bone and give you something morbidly humorous, but don’t expect to get close to him. He keeps his inner circle small, and is dangerously protective over those that make it in. He’s erratic in his actions, often doing things that would be considered degradable, or life-threatening. Really, Lucian’s just trying to nurse his mental and emotional wounds, and trying to get to the next day as best he can.

History
The first seven years of Lucian’s life were peaceful, or maybe that was just because he was young, and naive. He saw the world as glass half full, and when he didn’t, well, he realized either way he wouldn’t be going thirsty. It was the seventh year that positively screwed everything up. His mother, human, had crept to the side of his bed with a smile, a smile that was so terribly fake that even stupid little Lucian could recognize something was going on. She’d grabbed his hand, given him a briefcase of clothes, and dragged him from the house. Outside was a black cadillac, into the trunk of which his mother loaded her two trunks of clothes, and Lucian’s suitcase, and sped off into the night. They, they being little Lucian, his mother, and a tall, lanky vampire, drove for hundreds of miles, all the way across America, finally settling in the suburbs of San Francisco.
From then on, Lucian’s household became a warzone. There was no middle ground, it was everyone for themselves. One might notice that there was two of everything. Two toasters, two tables, to flat-screen TV’s. The rushed relationship of his mother and the vampire she ran off with was toxic, to say the least, as they were always fighting. Most of the times, it would end violently, and with Lucian caught in the middle. When they were fighting, it was easy for them to find a reason to turn on poor, confused Lucian. When they weren’t releasing their anger on Lucian, they were forgetting about him, and letting him grow up on his own. One might notice Lucian never did learn to cook properly.
When Lucian was 14, he ran away from home in search of his biological father. He spent seven nights and six days hopping trains, hitchhiking, and walking back across the country to Florida, where he’d grown up. When he arrived home, he was dismayed to find that his father had moved from the house, leaving it in the hands of someone who claimed he was a close friend.. He’d been able to get the information from the owner as to where he went, up north to Maine. 4 more days and nights elapsed until his was able to get to the address he was given.
His father welcomed him with open arms, it was like a scene from the movies. He had very few rules, aside from the general house rules. Lucian was not to play with vampire or werewolf girls and boys, for decent reason. Lucian’s grandfather had been killed by a berserking werewolf, something his father could not let go. Oh, right. And the fact that his wife had ran away with a vampire. He did allow him a dog, who grew to become his best friend.
Then came the fateful night that would turn over his world once more. Funny, how that didn’t put things right side up. He’d been walking his pitbull, Teddy, when an impact that felt like a train hitting him nearly buried him into the ground. He felt teeth latch into his neck, shredding skin and tearing deep. That’s when his dog slammed into the werewolf, knocking it off him, preventing it from finishing off Lucian’s life. Lucian had the time to pull out the silver hunting knife he always carried this time of night, and shoved it into the back of the werewolf, who had busied herself mauling Teddy. The animal slumped off of the dog, its attack slowing as Lucian ripped out its heart, something he’d heard would kill a werewolf. Had Teddy not taken the brunt of the werewolf’s rage, Lucian surely would have died. Even as Lucian felt himself beginning to change, Teddy stood by his side, barking until help came to the source of the sound.
His time in the hospital was short, maybe because the werewolf bite was already infecting his system. When he returned home, his father couldn’t bare to even look at him, kicking him out from his home. Lucian lost everything for the third time. This time, he traveled with Teddy, never staying in one place for long. That’s when word got around that there was a boarding school in Washington. It took Lucian a while to get his hands on a registration, but soon enough he was flying out to Washington with Teddy and the few things he had, including an acoustic guitar he’d found in the dump, and clothes on his back and in his briefcase (the same one he’d ran away with when he was seven, mind you).

Pet Personality: Teddy is protective over Lucian, and is very good at reading his emotions. If he has the slightest hint that Lucian feels threatened by someone, he’ll immediately become hostile towards that person, unless directed otherwise by him. He’s a real snuggler, but just like his owner, you’d best befriend him before you try anything. He’s almost as hard to warm up as Lucian.
