<Snipped quote by Seravee>
I finished Log Horizon and absolutely loved it. It actually exemplifies what I enjoy most from fiction, which is world-building. I also recently finished Konosuba and the latest season of Re:Zero, which I think are also refreshing takes on the "life in another world" genre, especially after SAO left such a bitter taste in my mouth. I'd consider my tastes to be rather eclectic, ranging from Haikyu!! to Tsukigakirei. Right now I'm re-watching Katekyo Hitman Reborn (I finished the manga), and I've always had a love of the typical battle shounen (having grown up on DB/DBZ/GT myself).
I'm glad to already be seeing friendly faces :)
If you ever decide that you want to write something Log Horizon themed, please let me know! I'm on a kick, but I haven't been able to find anyone interested.
I was sort of torn on SAO. I enjoyed the first few episodes, and then the series felt like it took a nosedive. And now that I watch Log Horizon, and see what SAO COULD have been, it seems so... basic. I did write on an SAO board for a couple of years though, so I have a couple of original characters in that world.
I haven't heard of the other animes you've mentioned though. I need to expand my horizons! I haven't been watching for too long, honestly. Started with 00 Gundam, and most recently watched Kuromukuro. I like mechs. :)
