Battle of the Maw (Medieval Fantasy)

I plan on using heavy frontline infantry utilizing heavy armour, shields and spears and fighting largely using the phalanx formation. They will be supported by crossbow men and scorpion style Ballista. With limited to no cavalry. This is of course all dependent on how the game is set up etc.

I would be cool with fantasy races. Doesn't necessarily mean magic is around and I doubt most people would have any control of things like dragons. However even things like Pegasus knights and the like could greatly change how things would operate on a conventional battlefield.

I am equally cool without fantasy however.
