Current Absolutely everything is going my way. There's gotta be a cosmic balance sooner or later, but for now I'm just riding the high.

Huzzah! I pass the test. Or a test, at least. I suspect there will be many more.
Which means I'm gonna need to catch up on some anime.
Also I wouldn't be too worried about leaving yourself in an open field; there are plenty of other people who could come on at any point, and they absolutely could've started in an open field as well. It just so happens that I'm all you've got. ;)

Anyway, I made sure to leave my post ambiguous in case you didn't want to go the same route I did. But at least it looks like maybe we'll get some stuff rolling, hm?
I BELIEVE IN US. I BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF YOUTH.

Might Guy would be proud.

Anyway, yeah. I would've loved to have started off with some interaction, but I couldn't really think of any reason for Ichiyo to be anywhere but at his job to begin with. Especially out in the middle of the field. He's not the type. I also wanted to introduce the café in case it becomes a suitable meeting spot for any number of characters at some point.
I give myself a 3/5 on foresight. Thought too far ahead.
Okay, phew. Actually, thanks for letting me know that. I always like to know when something I've said of written causes an emotion in people, happy or sad, jubilant or frightened, or wistful. Or, y'know, if I said something funny. It's the reason I write: it lets you touch other people's lives from miles and miles away, maybe without ever even talking to them.

Anyway. Monologue aside, I think my post now better fits yours in terms of consistency and definitely is more along the lines of the somber feel I was going for.
@Serum Kyaaa, Cherrim is one of my favourite Pokémon~! ^.^

I took a guess, and I was right.

Also forgive me, I was the incompetent one. I saw the part about the sky being blue and mixing with peach, but for some reason I neither saw the part about it being sunset, not did I register that as a sunset. I apologize again.
This does work out better though; I'd wanted sunset but I had thought it was midday for you so I did around noon.

I am a mess.

I'm gonna go change that as soon as I finish cleaning up my own dishes, haha.

Well technically you are the GM, so you get final say on anything. But I'm happy to have such a benevolent leader. May the RPeople's Republic last for many years.
Also @Princess Sakura is evolving! Bum buh bum buh bum buh bum baaaum...

Okay, yeah, I can see where the confusion arose, that's really my fault. What I had meant was that I prefer to write in a novel-style, but first person. Like the way I'm posting right now, really. Full stops, regular sentence formatting, but using the first person.
Regardless, I think I can handle your writing style. Like I said before, it's nothing I haven't done. Just let me know if there's anything I need to change or improve! You're the boss here, after all, eh?
[The sky is a delicious shade of tangerine, a masterpiece of orange hues and tones of pink and red, gradually fading to a dull blue-grey opposite the sun. Large parasols stand watch above a small number of tables fenced in against a small building, a creamy beige in color brilliantly reflecting the sun's setting rays with its west-side wall, and overflowing with the aromatic scent of baked goods. The now-empty tables bask in the light, and a slight breeze catches the napkin on a table that has not yet been cleared, lifting it for a brief flight.]

*catches the napkin just as it floats toward his hand, then looks down at the table in front of him and sighs*
I can't understand why people leave such lousy tips. There's nothing I can do with this little money. But...I guess that's the way people are. And a job is a job...
*wryly twitches the corner of his mouth down into a half-frown, then shrugs around and grabs a washcloth and begins wiping the table down*
Oh, third-person isn't something I usually do anyway, heheh. Most of the time I write in first person; it feels more natural. That's fine, then? I'm gonna, uh, go post an IC under the assumption that it is.
My apologies for the double post, but I wanted to make sure you saw this.

Before I write an IC post, I know that you said you don't like to see actions done in an I/me format. Does this exclude third-person novel-style writing as well? Because while that is where I'm most comfortable, I do have experience writing in your style as well, and would definitely like to be as accommodating as possible.
Forename: Ichiyo

Surname: Yamamoto

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Appearance:

Most Recent Facial Expression: Somewhat pouty, generally displeased with how things are going

Height: 180 cm/6 ft

Personality: Hasty, bumbling. Has hidden emotional depths, but would prefer not to trouble anyone else with them.

Notes: Ichiyo works as a waiter in a popular cafe in Bunnyville. It's not the best job, but it pays well enough and the customers are usually unobjectionable. It still feels a little strange when he has to serve classmates though.

Plays the cello, and is extremely good, but doesn't seem to want anyone to know.

Has some troubles with punctuality, usually through no fault of his own.

Mannerisms:

Posture: Relaxed and a little slouched around people with whom he's familiar or when alone, but rigid around strangers and while working.

Poses: Scratches the back of his neck in many situations (uncomfortable, making a weak joke, etc.) This pose is usually accompanied by a grin.

Cocks his head, occasionally puts his hand on his chin, generally when he is trying to figure something out, or as a bit of a sarcastic gesture prefacing him pointing out someone's mistake

Slouched heavily over onto a desk or in thin air, signifying defeat and generally follows an awkward exchange or occurrence.
