It seemed so long ago that California was broken after the war of secession. Though now in the future, California war was not in vain. The state became a country and formed a mighty Republic stretching just at beginning of the Midwest.

In the Sacramento Palace, President Cale Chiu a Chinese/Filipino president is the 3rd Asian president of the Californian states. Ever since California independence, California has had many presidents from different ethnicities. Black, White, Hispanic, and etc. Showing off its multicultural society.

“The Canadians and British are at their throats” said Cale.

“Ironic as it may seem, they have the mentality of imperialist. Such a shame that they wish create new empires in a sea of troubles” said Secretary Bart Wilson.
“Indeed. And yet I fear for those nations within the American Continent of being conquered under the Canadian, British or any other damned imperialist power from another continent” Cale said with disgust and fervor.

“We could combine with the United States. They have been offering it to us after WW3 and it would make us stronger.”

“Though that would directly put us at odd with the British Empire. After all, the USA has continued to claim the states taken by the Brits and may go to war with them. Focusing on that would take off a big chunk on the space program” said Secretary of Defense Bronson.

“True Bronson. Our country would be forced to raise a larger military. And I don’t want to divert from focusing on space. In any case, the plan to merge with the United States is a no-go.”

“That’s going to cause an uproar in those that support the merger.”

“Don’t worry about it. They can continue holding rallies of remerging with the United States. It’s not happening.”

Economy: California economy is dominated with High Tech industries which makes a bulk of their money. Others include the media industry (Music, Film, and Videogames), farming etc.

Foreign Policy: California is non-interventionist and mostly keeps to themselves

History:

On 2014, California left the Union to form its own state. Many Californians were fed up with the government and declared the Second Californian Republic. The United States government wasn’t going to watch one of their most important states and War became erupted.

During the Californian War of Secession several other states followed the example of California. Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona and New Mexico. The West was seceding under the United States with its citizens and National Guard fighting them. It eventually came to be known as the War of West Coast Secession.

The War ended on 2018. The United California States of America was created with Nevada joining them.

The UCA consolidated itself after the war opening up the country and following a policy of free trade to repair its country and reduce its debt. The illegal immigrant was simply solved by legalizing them as California citizens though during that time, the current UCA Congress passed a federal law banning all forms of immigration into the country.

On 2025, the Mexican-Californian War broke out as the Mexican Empire declared war on California. Backgrounds include Mexico ambitions to acquire its lost territories from the Mexican-American War. The 9th Army invaded Baja California and placed it Californian control and cutting it off from Mexican control. The 4th Army held back Mexican forces at the Battle of Phoenix. The UCA air force launched devastating bombing runs to demoralize the population of the country and invaded Mexican Border States.
Fighting continued until 2031 until Mexico surrendered and collapsed. California took over the states of Sonora, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colma, Marias Island and Revigalledo Island giving the country effective control over the Gulf of California.

Most of California was unscathed by the war. It bolstered national unity and consolidated the Californian identity as mighty power not is treaded upon. California largely remained out of the other wars of WW3 making great scientific advancement and even establishing a space agency looking to establish space mining operations and colonizing the Solar System.

On 2035, California annexed the lawless lands Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado effectively recreating Alta California back when it was under Mexican control hundreds of years ago.

Beyond 2038 everybody knows of California power in technology, media (Music, Film industry etc.), military power and economic power. The world knows California as a non-interventionist nation that keeps to itself.

Shadowkiller, I prefer you not make multiple nations. Only make a nation out of the states you claimed, I do not want to keep track of a bunch of NPC nations.
