Most of the stray soldiers were being taken care of by the ones in the front line, which Jalo appreciated. It gave him a chance to compose himself again, at least for a few moments. Then they all reached the end, and though there wasn't a sea of soldiers this time, the automatic weapons and flamethrowers made it more challenging for him to concentrate. He still stayed on the defensive with blocking the soldiers' attacks, and when he could, he would ruin a stationary gun or two. By the end of it, his migraine as overwhelming and he had overexerted himself. If it wasn't for the fresh air he felt hit his face and his lungs, he wouldn't have even noticed they reached the outside. He couldn't hear what the leader had to say, but felt the others starting to move, and did so as well.

By the time the week was over and they reached the forest, Jalo's migraine went away and he had managed to stabilize himself, working out a pattern of when and how to use his ability. Always being a follower, he was grateful there were natural leaders in the group and they were giving exact instructions. He hadn't spoken a word since they were in the compound - Nobody talked to him much, and the few times they did it was a yes or no question. For him, it felt strangely nice to not have to. Talking was a source of anxiety for 027, since even the scientists back at the base would have to record what he said and play it backwards. Maybe he would get lucky, and be like one of the people who didn't talk for so long they simply forgot how to. Or maybe it was a problem in his mind that would never go away, and he would just always speak like this. His thoughts getting out of hand, Jalo shook his head, clearing his mind and focusing more on his work. Not having to use physical labor to put up the shelters, it went quicker for him than it was going for some of the others. Still, the help was appreciated.
Florence nodded. "Nice choice." Even for him, that title would be a little bit too violent, but it was cool that someone wanted to fill it. "I mean, they should be here." He shrugged, then looked at the person who entered their conversation, and the woman who took count of the animals. Did that mean they were all one group now? "Good luck with that. How would ya start that?"

"Who exactly?" Luther asked, hoping she wasn't the type of person to get overwhelmed by questions. While it was a genuine concern, it also gave him time to think on whether to stay or not.
it's no problem friend :> i understand playing asshole characters (especially with Luther and all)
To Gianna, Luther rolled his eyes. She was going to be a real pain in the ass, but if he was lucky he wouldn't have to deal with her much. He looked down for a moment thinking about the situation, before looking to Katherin once more. "I guess I'm going to be here longer than I planned?" Of course, that was only if he chose to stay. He had talked to her about this in the emails, but had assumed it would be maybe a week at the most. It wasn't like his dorm-mate was the best person to be with, but Luther wasn't sure if he wanted to be here with these people. After all, he didn't really even know them.
Franz froze when Ikumi attacked the teacher, having to take a moment to actually process it. He had always liked him, and it was upsetting to see him dragged into this. He understood Edward's anger and frustration, but he still found himself intimidated by the taller man and took a step away from him. "Yeah. I'm not leaving, you're right." It hurt to think that he couldn't go home but he accepted it, knowing Ed was right. Above all else he didn't want to hurt his siblings. He went over to Ikumi and gently took her hands, his mother hen tendencies getting the better of him. "I know, Ikumi...This is a bad situation, but we're going to get through it. It may take time, but it's going to be alright."
"You think you're much better?" Luther retorted. His demeanor had gotten him called many things, so he had become used to the names over the years. He turned his attention back to Katherin. "Alright, so, what does this mean for us?" He wanted to know what to expect, besides the problems he had already been having.
