Hey yo, so this game looks super dope, and I'd love to apply, if you don't midn. The page says freelancers are open? I assume those are non-K9 members?
If you want to know (or if you don't, well.. here, anyway) the idea I had was for a guy that was almost literally a brick wall. Like 7 feet tall and big enough that you'd probably want to have a gun if you're gonna try and kill him.
@beyond visions So I know that Benji woke up, but the others are still asleep at the beginning of the game, right? Wrong? I'm mildly confused on that part.
Yaz's coworkers and those not close to her would see a young woman that can tackled nearly any technological issue. They wouldn't be wrong. However, her friends and loved ones know that she values relationships and people over computers (for which she has no little amount of love)
Appearance
Yaz stands at slightly below-average height with a thin frame. She has slightly-pale skin with assorted freckles across her arm. Her right arm was lost in an accident as a child, so she wears a mechanically bionic unit that functions as perfectly as her flesh-and-bone limb. She has pretty, light red hair that could almost be considered strawberry-blonde, which is cut off at the base of her shoulders. Her face is thin an bares grey eyes with a slight tint of green. She has full lips and a slightly rounded, yet narrow chin. On any given day, Yazmin usually wears casual clothing, preferring comfort over fashion. She also likes to keep her hair tied in a bun, rather than let it get in her face.

Positive Traits:

Understanding
Determined
Trustworthy (Values Trust Beyond Anything)
Negative Traits:
Often Overly Emotional
Stubborn
Somewhat Naive
Personality Description
Yazmin is a very kind person. She loves people and has a good heart and good intentions for everyone she knows. She would never willingly seek to harm someone. Since she has such strong feelings for her friends, she tends to hold harsh grudges against people with ill-will against them.
As possibly displayed by her over-zealous love for computers, Yaz is not a "girly-girl" who constantly worries with her image and outward appearance. She prefers comfort over fashion and doesn't care about keeping herself pretty. Despite her confidence, she's not immune to harsh words, in fact, she very much judges people on how they speak to others.
Yazmin is very open with her emotions, and she values when other people are honest with her as well. She would rather someone be honest (though preferably not harsh), instead of lying to her about something.

Secret(s)
Right after graduating from the USA Institute of Technology, Yazmin was kidnapped and forced to aid an anti-government hacker group called Riptide. While with them, Yaz was partially responsible for a city-wide blackout and many other minor attacks caused by the group. Being labeled a fugitive and a Cyber Terrorist, she has a government rap-sheet that includes several cybercrimes.
History
Yazmin grew up in the United States, the daughter of two teachers. Her father and five brothers were all big and strong athletes, the shortest male in her family being six-foot-two. She and her mother on the other hand, were both small, though her mother was a few inches taller. Because of her size difference with her brothers, she didn't join in on their outdoor recreation unless it required minimal effort.
Despite her not having much in common with her brothers, any of them would gladly beat the living crap out of anyone that laid a hand on her (and they could easily do it, too). The phrase "circle the wagons" applied all-too-well to the family, and Yazmin learned from them how important relationships and trust were.
Growing up, Yaz had a superb mind for technology and computers. This grew from a hobby to an actual, marketable skill that landed her a full-ride scholarship to the USA Technological Institute, the best IT school in the country, at the age of 16. She completed the full required course within 2 years, and went to live with her brother while she prepared for a job with a computer-engineering company. While she was with her brother in New York, she was kidnapped by a group called Riptide, an anti-American-government group that forced her to hack into dozens of banks, public systems, and other things that caused general chaos, or else they would kill her brother and his wife.
Almost two years after her kidnapping, a Riptide safehouse was raided by Special Forces. During the firefight, an explosion sent shrapnel into her arm, severing the nerves and destroying the limb. When her name was cleared and almost all charges dropped, the government paid for her bionic limb replacement and offered her a spot on a team that was programming drones to help detect where the apocalyptic storms of recent would appear.
When Yazmin heard about the Cryonauts, she saw that they were looking for people with skills. She applied for the position in the project. Being one of the best hackers and programmers in the world, she was accept, but not without anxieties and fears. She ultimately decided it was worth helping mankind to leave her family behind, so she accepted the position and joined.
"Well, he's kinda cute. Physically, yeah, but I mean he seems like a nice dude, too... and he's a doctor so he saves people, right? He seemed sincere, I guess, but you can tell he's a tad bit quirky - but maybe in a good way... well also maybe in a bad, I wouldn't know. He's not a computer, so I can't exactly open his terminal and check out his hardware... Wow that sounded dirty... "
Yazmin doesn't mind guys - hey, she grew up with six of them. She's not the type of girl to show out for someone. She'd never flaunt her breasts or try to be "sexy" because, well frankly, she'd fail. She appreciates guys that don't just stare at a girl's figure or don't constantly want sex. Those kind of guys are rather disgusting to her. To her, Benji seemed to be a genuine guy, even if he was slightly flirty.
☺Tahlia Spade☺
"Tahlia seems like a total badass, to be honest... I mean, I'm a gamer and I've played countless flight simulators, but I don't think I could ever really pilot a jet, ship, or plane. She seems like she's the kind of girl that doesn't take crap from anyone. She kind of makes me feel insecure, to be honest. She's pretty and confident and appears to be pretty cool. I like her."
Yazmin was slightly intimidated at first by the young woman, but after talking to her for a bit, she decided that she liked her. Because it was a military team that rescued her from Riptide, Yazmin is quite a fan of the US Army, so Tahlia's status gives her a slight bonus. Overall, Tahlia seemed pleasant enough, even if she was a little reserved.
☺Echo Montigawitz☺
"Echo seems pretty cool, too. I know, I know, I keep saying that about people, but I mean hey... I'm nice. She appears to be super smart, and that's coming from one of the best programmers in the world. Sure, I can build a computer, but she could probably build a spaceship! Which... might come in handy in the near future, considering that the world is exploding and space may be the only safe place. Oh! And she's a redhead, like me!"
The first thing that Yazmin noticed about Echo was that she was super pretty, and she seemed to be perky like Yaz was, err- tried to be. Echo seemed like she was a jack-of-all-trades kind of girl and she probably knows a bunch of stuff about ships and cars and machines. Due to the girl's fame Yazmin, slightly looks at her as if she's the front runner of the operation.
◑Ailbeart Rend◑
"I don't know how I feel about that guy... While I was with Riptide, I had to hack into one of his business's mainframes, and we found talks about sex scandals, inhumane treatment of employees, and plenty of other potentially incriminating things. Of course, I don't know how true any of it was."
Generally, Yazmin at least respects the man for his success. However, she'd heard and seen countless rumors of his employees being treated like animals, only to ensure the man's benefit. Yaz decided, despite her negative introduction to the businessman, that she was going to give him a chance. Besides, the media tended to be overcritical of successful people.
Yaz Cormick
"I mean... what can I say about myself. I'm not strong, I'm a whimp, and mean people make me cry sometimes... but hey, I can optimize the crap out of any computer you give me, and I've got a dope robotic arm, so that's something, right?"
Yazmin doesn't really have too high of an opinion of herself, but she's not exactly a self-shamer. She's conscious of herself, in that she knows her weakness, but she also knows her strengths. Yazmin isn't afraid of her weakness, but she would prefer to remain in her comfort zone.
☺Owen Childs☺
"I like him. He seems very smart, but I kind of feel like he's probing my mind. He didn't say it, but I felt like he thought my metal arm was taking some kind of psycological toll on me. Other than that, he's seems okay! He's energetic and out there, and I appreciate that!"
Yaz feels like Owen is a guy with good intentions, but not always good execution. He means well by his probing manner of speaking, but he gives off an air of superiority. Regardless of how true that air may be, Yaz feels like that could be the one thing that would rub her the wrong way, eventually.
@beyond visions Around what time was it when they entered Cryosleep? By that I mean, is it current years or far in the future? I only ask for backstory purpose and because my character will be heavily technology-oriented and that would be tangent on development of society.
@beyond visions *Slams gauntlet on the ground* Do me a favor and save me a spot. I'm thinking of a female computer-scientist. Do you have a desire in terms of age minimum/maximums?
Abel had been in the gym for nearly an hour by the time everyone got to it. He presently stood in front of the mirror wall, watching his posture as he lowered his body into the twenty-seventh rep of squats. He stopped when his knees were at a ninety-degree angle and hefted the 310 pound set upwards as he returned to an upright posture. He repeated the motion twice more before he heard telltale ding-ding that always preceded an announcement. He waited for a moment, sweat dripping from his hair and down to his black tank top, on which was forming a ring of sweat. He listened to the instructions given by Elisa with minor annoyance, and sighed when the mysterious PSA ended. Not only were they being subjected to daily evaluations, but now they were going to do it in front of everyone.
After taking a deep breath, Abel hit the thirtieth rep, the dropped the weight set behind him, the heavy weights hitting the ground with a loud thud against the mat behind him. He was sweating, not because of the squats, but rather the effort of all the combined work of the morning. He could squatted about fifty pounds more than what he'd just had, but he'd found that his sporadic and sudden flashes made lifting higher amounts a little more dangerous for him. He wiped his sweaty palms on his fitting black sweatpants and moved for the doors, leaving the weights on the floor for the mysterious facility crew to clean up.
Since he had no real way to actual protest his captivity, as Ezra had plainly demonstrated earlier this week, Abel had found little ways to show his displeasure. He left his weights laying around, he "accidentally" spilled stuff during eating periods and left it sitting, and other things he thought of in the moment. To his minor frustration, however, he would always return to the cafeteria or gym to see his protest had been cleaned up and returned to its former pristine condition.
Presently, he made his way to the auditorium where the others had begun to arrive. He spotted Nikolai speaking to Stasya, and Irina speaking to Arthur. He opted to sit behind Irina and Arthur, placing tennis shoe on his knee and leaning back against his chair. It seemed that the moment he got comfortable, it worst torn away. The familiar throbbing of his temples preceded a violent flash of codes. At the beginning, the codes had been in binary. However, he'd begun to notice coding that he recognized as JavaScript, C++, and even basic HTML. This time it came in a combination of C, and C#. Abel didn't personally know how to program in those two languages, but he somehow recognized them. He did, however, know that the two languages were often used to code Operating Systems for most computers and laptops. The codes shifted and revealed a generic screen saver, and Abel guessed that the vision was coming from the computer at the bottom of the room.
As the pain subsided, Abel managed to keep his swearing in his head, a volume that only Irina might hear. On the outside, however, the young man remained in his calm, laid back posture that he was normally seen in, waiting for Elisa, or Ezra, or... Someone to fill them in further.
