Melina Thanos sighed, the Greek woman staring up at the odd skies of Elysium with a look of pure boredom. It was just too perfect here in the afterlife. After all these years there was nothing she wanted more than to live again, to be able to make mistakes, to help the problems of others, or just feel again. There was none of that here though, just happiness and bliss that meant nothing after so long.
There had been a time when she had loved the peace. She had spent years here rejoicing, dancing and singing. That no longer brought her any sort of false joy. There were days when she wondered why her father never pulled her from this ‘paradise’. He was a god after all; he could do it if he truly wanted. Yet she was still here, stuck in an eternity with no surprises.
Suddenly a shadow passed over her pondering form, stirring the girl from her thoughts. “Hello?” she asked aloud, her voice calling out in ancient Greek. For a second she thought the man above her was just another one of her vivid visions, or even a part of her strange imagination. “Are you Melina Thanos, daughter of Apollo?” the man asked in the same tongue, making her sit up. She tensed at the name, the name of her supposed father, the man who left her here for eternity.
Melina’s eyes scanned over the stranger, taking him in with sudden interest. He was dressed in the familiar fashion she was used to, the draping robes of fabric that were distinctively Greek. “Yes, what is it you need?”
The man smiled faintly, seemingly amused by something. “Daughter of Apollo, you have been summoned by the goddess Até. Now shall we go, there is much to do.” He replies, getting another grimace at the man’s name. Nonetheless Melina stood, nodding in quick agreement. “Then let us go.”
