So, hello all, I'm Shi. I've been participating in play-by-post roleplays for the past 8 years, though I did just come back from a break. If I'm working with you and go silent for more than a week without any explanation or heads up please send me a message and call me out on it. (Check my status if this happens. I leave most of these warnings there now.) I honestly just lose the motivation to write a lot...or forget to give a warning and then feel super guilty and put off replying longer.
On a better note; I just recently completed college and my schedule has opened up for the first time in years. Unlike before I am no longer balancing school, work, and life.

You’re probably wondering where you are though and why you’re here. Well that’s simple; you’re in my mansion which will probably be your home sooner or later. It doesn’t have to be though. If you can escape you’re free to go, don’t just try to break out through brute force though. My house doesn’t take that kindly and I don’t want damaged collectibles. Oh that reminds me, if you can’t escape you become mine, that is why I chose you. I wanted another special thing to add to my collection. Well good luck, I look forward to spending the rest of eternity here with you all. Signed, The Collector. A group of special individuals, people or creatures with unique abilities, all find themselves trapped in the basement. They have no idea where they are or why they are there. On the door at the top of the basement stairs they find this letter and their confusion and worry spreads. The door is surprisingly unlocked. A key out of the mansion is hidden somewhere, guarded by dangers and fierce creatures/monsters. They aren’t the only monsters there however, seeing as a few of the kidnapped individuals are not human themselves. No-one can just jump out a broken window either, the house is enchanted to repair itself quick enough that trying to escape from said window would result in losing a limb or more. These individuals have to team up to face the challenges of the mansion and find the key to freedom, seeing as the front door is locked from the outside. In this we’ll all mostly be playing the individuals who were taken, but they aren’t average people either. Each one of them have an ability, though some are inhuman, that caused this Collector to become interested in them. If anyone wants to play a previous collection though please ask, these are the creatures/ people around the mansion who now unwillingly work for The collector. The Collector is a non-playable character, at the beginning he is just a letter but when he eventually comes in I’ll be working him. This is due to the fact that he shows up too far in for me to make someone wait for; he’s not even in the mansion until that point. It is unknown if the collector is a he/she or even human.
The Collector watches us, determines if we’re really worth being a ‘Collectible’. If he decides yes he sends paid henchmen to subdue and deliver the target. There is no specific way these henchmen subdue their targets.
The mansion is actually alive and it intends to keeps us prisoner. Walls and windows can repair themselves fast enough to keep us inside. Putting an arm through a broken window will most likely result in the loss of said limb. The mansion is also completely conscious, it can hear and see us so planning escapes needs to be done carefully.
These are those who did not succeed in escaping in previous collections. They no longer have a free will and are not capable of disobeying the Collector’s orders. Their entire goal is to break our will, keep us busy until the Collector returns to do what he/she has done to everyone else he ever took. They will even go as far as killing, but most likely they will maim and injure or merely capture and hold us.

It's really up to preference, I'm fine with playing either. Secondly, it could either be an action sort of story or some sort of odd romance. Hope that answers your questions.

A little bit about myself. -I prefer playing a Female character, but I am willing to play either gender. I am okay with doubling as well. -I typically write anywhere from a paragraph to 5 or 6. This fluctuates based on what is going on and what is given. Most of the time I'll give you what you give me. -DO NOT make your character one sided, flat characters have no place as a main character in a story. It makes them extremely boring and keeps the story from progressing. -Violence is perfectly fine, I’m not extremely squeamish when it comes to gore just don’t go overboard with it. -On the topic of PM vs Thread, I’m not choosy. As long as it remains on this site I’m fine with either one. -Will do 18+ plots, please give me a heads up if this is what you want. -Lastly I’ll try to keep you posted if I’m not going to be online for an expected length of time, though sometimes things happen and I am unable to get online to warn anyone... life is complicated.

Small Plot Ideas
After many years, two childhood friends run back into each other. They try to rekindle their friendship but a lot has changed since they were kids. A big secret stands between them. --- I have a few ideas about setting, direction, and such but I wanted to leave this very open to interpretation. Could be something dealing with the supernatural, something of a criminal nature, or even just plain mundane.

Historian/Tomb Raider/ Archeologist who is thrown back in time when they stumble across a holy site/ tomb. Setting: An ancient civilization, which one is up to you.

They didn’t know how it happened. It was an accident, a mistake. The slumbering creature was no longer sleeping and had a small obsession with who exactly woke them from eternal rest. -- So overall idea is a human (Male or Female) accidentally wakes a creature of darkness (Vampire or Demon) from their slumber. This could be by accidentally disturbing their resting place, which could be anywhere dark and quiet away from the sunlight, reading the inscription off some sort of artifact, or even getting blood on the casket they resided in. They don’t wake up immediately, but when they do they have this urge to find the one who woke them, especially if it was by blood or inscription. The creature finds the human interesting, or a possible meal, and as such begins to try to get close. Eventually the human does find out.
Strange things have begun to happen to an average human boy/ girl. Turns out there are things lurking in the dark hunting them down. They are attacked one night but someone/ something saves them. This savior reveals that more will come for them, beings much stronger than they could ever handle, but they offer to protect them... for a price.

Basically a traveler or someone new to this small town attends a festival that has been going on for hundreds of years. Part of it involves the townspeople leaving little gifts at a statue as old as the town. When the newcomer approaches the statue something happens and the statue shatters, a very confused person stumbling out of it.
