Bio

So, hello all, I'm Shi. I've been participating in play-by-post roleplays for the past 8 years, though I did just come back from a break. If I'm working with you and go silent for more than a week without any explanation or heads up please send me a message and call me out on it. (Check my status if this happens. I leave most of these warnings there now.) I honestly just lose the motivation to write a lot...or forget to give a warning and then feel super guilty and put off replying longer.

On a better note; I just recently completed college and my schedule has opened up for the first time in years. Unlike before I am no longer balancing school, work, and life.

That is all...

"My life is my own, its secrets are mine,
I keep my world to myself, so don't cross the line,
But if fiction is what you are looking for, then I will be there,
A pen in my hand and a story to share.

That is what I am here for, to create stories galore,
Epics of heroes, battles of gore,
Lives unheard of, worlds not yet explored,
I am here to write, to no longer be bored."

Lucinda flinched, having heard the snap on wood, but was shocked to find the man healing himself. The shape-shifter looked slightly intrigued by this new discovery but kept it to herself.

“That might be wise. I guess I’ll start. My name is Lucinda Grey, I will not take offence if you choose to call me Lucy, and I am a shape shifter.” She stated proudly. Then, as if to prove her point, the arm that was once metal began to shift. The sound of bones creaking and bending could be heard as it became something similar to a bats wing. It did not remain that way for long however, the limb once returning to one of flesh and bone.

As she had done this the room shifted as well, as if they had been transported into what looked like a grand hallway. A look of confusion and shock danced across her face, only to be replaced by a fiery look of determination when she caught the voice of a newcomer.

Glacier like eyes locked onto the figure dressed all in black, Lucinda’s lithe form taking up a stance much like a warrior. I don’t know if she is friend or foe, or even what she is… all I know is I have this feeling in my gut that she is dangerous. Lucy thought.

This place merely just got stranger by the minute.
Rosaline, having been relatively close to Marianne, had escaped the bulk of the faun’s attack. Even so, several fauns had approached, firing off a volley of arrows in the Nebula’s direction. This had luckily made her move away, narrowly missing being caught up in the inferno.

A distinct smirk littered her porcelain features, her body moving quickly to counter the attack. Several ancient words left her lips, the mere utterances calling forth an invisible force to aid her. Then, with a commanding wave of her arm, the fauns were knocked back. It seemed they were determined though, the creatures getting back on their feet and again firing off arrow after arrow. The objects missed their marks, implanting into the tiled floor about her.

Suddenly one came right for her and, not wanting to waste her powers on such an easy miss, she let her upper torso collapse backward. Her entire upper body slumped back like a doll’s would without support, and thus the arrow sailed right over her. Then, straightening up, she summoned forth tendrils of smoke and fog, the rope like conjuring’s wrapping around the fauns. Their bows dropped from their hands as the fog began to strangle them, having gotten around their throats, and Rose almost laughed as they began to choke.

By the end of the battle several arrows were lodged into Rosaline’s porcelain form, making her angry that she would have to repair the damage. The poison, as expected, had no effect on her empty shell. Repairing the damages done she listened closely to the conversing of the others. As she did so she began to go over the information she had gathered in her head.

Fiara; seemingly good natured, has an interesting power for a human… The robot; not very open to magic or anything unreasonable. Dactrin; missing or dead, no longer matters. Adriane; crazy, destructive, and is a demon… not sure if I could trust him but he could be helpful……Then there’s Marianne…. I think it would be best said that I don’t like or trust her in any way. Rose thought to herself.

Suddenly, she was pulled from her repairs… and her thoughts… by a flash of bright light. When she looked up Adriane didn’t seem the same, in fact he looked more angelic than demonic.

“That would explain the insanity, two beings in one body… especially two being who are usually mortal enemies.” Rose chuckled, smiling a little as she finished the final repairs. “I do have to agree however, it would be pleasant to be rid of this place.” She added, her words ringing in a more refined and ancient tone. She had accidently let her true accent ring free and it was becoming clear she was much older than she appeared. “Oh and Mr. Roboto,” she started, referring to Conna'Cel, “-it would be best if you remained with the remainder of us. There truly is strength in numbers.” She finished, her accent bleeding through.
Her entire form waited, tensed and ready to feel the monster’s attack bearing down on her much smaller frame, yet it never came. She did not dare to open her eyes and discover why though, instead keeping them screwed shut in fear.

Evelin could hear an unfamiliar voice call out, the language not one she recognized, but they spoke with authority. Then, without any more of a warning, she made out the sound of blade meeting flesh. Her entire body curled tighter, flinching noticeably when she heard something heavy hit the ground. It was soon followed by several more sounds of scuffling, each followed by the thud of another form hitting the alley pavement. Then it all went silent.

"There will be more. Can you stand?"

A pair of sea-foam colored eyes blinked open as she looked up at the towering figure, the terrified and shocked orbs peering out from under a curtain of dirty blonde hair. Evelin was shocked, not sure it was possible for a lone man to take on the creatures who had suddenly disappeared. She opened her mouth to reply but her throat was dry and thus she merely nodded. A little unstable and shaky the woman hoisted herself back to her feet, putting a hand against the wall for some form of support. That’s when she realized his words, her entire body going rigid as cold fear swept over her. There were more of those…things? “Wait… what were those things, why are they after me…. And who are you?” she asked, finally regaining her ability to speak. If she hadn’t been in a state of shock she might have remembered to thank this stranger sooner, but in her panic she had forgotten.

A sudden appolegetic look overtook her face as she realized how rude she had just been. “Sorry, I just bombarded you with questions. I really should be saying thank you, I don’t know what would have happened if you hadn’t been here.” She quickly adds.
I am sooooo sorry, it's finals week and I have been up to my ankles in tests and assignments.
I should be mostly free for the remainder of the year though and I hope to get a post up as soon as my typing and inspiration will allow. I'm just glad you all kept this alive in my absence, the original group seems to have fallen apart at the seams while I was away.
If we still have people who want to continue then I'm willing to keep it going. That and I might know another person who is interested, so if we continue I'll get him in on it and we'll try to salvage this.

Sorry I've been gone as of late, it's finals week and I had a Christmas party to host this past weekend.
I hope to be on quite a lot more for the rest of the month.
It seemed the weatherman had lied when he predicted a clear and sunny break from the sudden cold front they had received. Instead of sun the sky was dark and overcast, ready to pour in the blink of an eye, and it was far from warm. People’s breath rose in personal clouds of fog, hanging in the air before them as a reminder of the hostile cold.

This was not a day many wanted to be out and about, yet a lone woman walked down the street towards home. She was relatively small; maybe about 5’2 at the most; and those who didn’t know her would most likely think she was a teenager instead of a woman in her 20’s. What was even stranger was the cheery humming slipping out from under the scarf wrapped around her neck and lower face.

Suddenly though her merry humming stopped, the feeling of being watched raising the hairs on the back of her neck. Evelin had frozen, turning slightly to find the culprit and yet she saw nothing… she was alone. Her sea foam colored eyes narrowed in confusion, a hint of fear glimmering under the surface. That had been the fifth time she had felt eyes on her, and three of those had been just on her walk home, it was starting to unnerve the young woman tremendously.

Evelin really should have trusted her instincts but instead the messy haired woman turned around to continue her walk.

That mistake was the reason she was now backed in a corner, the dead end of an alley she had blindly run into. Someone, more like something, had been chasing her ever since and now it and its four companions lurched forward menacingly. Whatever it was it was clearly not human, the creatures blazing red eyes locked on her in a predatory gaze. She would have screamed, had she believed it would help, but she knew there was no one around to help so instead she chose to press herself into the brick wall and raise her arms defensively. Then, with an animalistic growl the thing lunged and Evelin, too scared to react, merely cringed and let out a shriek of terror.
----EDITED----
The minute the box had been opened Rosaline had scrambled out of it, putting her form, unintentionally, between the two now locked in a stare down. Lucky for her she had not quite made it clear of the glass confines before the girl threw a ball of flames towards the inhuman man who had approached her. “He wants us alive, so in turn he’s most likely a serial kidnapper.” She replies to the girl’s question.

Rosaline did not even look fazed by the sudden change of space, the fact that they no longer stood in the basement wasn’t much of a shock. In truth it made her assumptions on the identity of their captor clearer. It seemed to her that she would get her vengeance after all these years. She was however shocked by the woman’s polite nature; at least someone in this atrocious place had manners. The Nebula’s eyes shifted to each of her ‘comrades’, giving them a once over.

A robot, what appeared to be a demon of sorts, two humans, and Marianne? They were all here for a reason and from what she had seen it most likely had to do with their unique abilities or species. The newcomer however didn’t quite feel like she was in the same boat, maybe she was one of their captor’s helpers… that did not explain her behavior though.

Rosaline shook her head a little, refocusing on the woman all in black. “The name is Rosaline, but I have a feeling you already know that. Do you know where we are? Or… even why we specifically have been taken?” she asks, her tone becoming cautious.
Lucinda’s eyebrows were still raised in questioning; now watching the man with the club …or now a crowbar. Even so, the shape shifter waltzed over to the disregarded letter and picked it up in her fingers. In seconds she had it open and was avidly reading it over.
“Doctor, it may be best for you to step away from that door. Whatever it may be on the other side… I think it might be wiser for us to prepare ourselves before facing it.” She calls out, looking up from the letter with a look of worry.
Lucinda sighed, looking back at the letter. “It seems our captor has written us a letter…’ I’m sorry you had to wake up like this, sleeping on the cold ground isn’t very comfortable. You’re probably wondering where you are though and why you’re here. Well that’s simple; you’re in my mansion which will probably be your home sooner or later. It doesn’t have to be though. If you can escape you’re free to go, don’t just try to break out through brute force though. My house doesn’t take that kindly and I don’t want damaged collectibles. Oh that reminds me, if you can’t escape you become mine, that is why I chose you. I wanted another special thing to add to my collection.
Well good luck, I look forward to spending the rest of eternity here with you all.
Signed,
The Collector.’” Lucinda read. Now the shape shifter wanted nothing more than to get out of here.
Rosaline had stopped her useless pounding on the glass by then, having turned her attention to the other beings waking up.

"W-what do you want?"

As the girl answered Rosaline could only think ’Out of this box.’ but she didn’t feel the need to voice it. She would rather not irritate those who could free her.

A sigh of exasperation left her painted lips, her hands returning to her side as she began to glance around the box for a way out. That’s when she saw it, a folded letter at the bottom of the coffin sized box. If only she could reach it but due to the tight proximity of the container she couldn’t crouch or bend over to grab it. “There seems to be a letter in here, I’ll try to get ahold of it… Maybe, if someone would be so kind, someone could get me out of here.” she pleads, looking at the few who had not charged the door like a maniac.

A determined look flickered on the woman’s face as she reached over towards her other shoulder. Then with a sickening POP she dislocated her shoulder. Anyone who was watching would most likely be appalled as she removed the appendage. There was just enough space to maneuver the doll like arm to the other side, right above the letter, and then she let it down. The disconnected arm reached it perfectly, the fingers grasping the letter before the arm was returned to its socket.
Now with the letter in hand she unfolded it and began to read.

I’m sorry you had to wake up like this, sleeping on the cold ground isn’t very comfortable. You’re probably wondering where you are though and why you’re here. Well that’s simple; you’re in my mansion which will probably be your home sooner or later. It doesn’t have to be though. The Collector.

If Rosaline could pale any more then she would be whiter than ivory. Her eyes glazed back over the seal on the letter with a ghost of recognition before she turned her head towards the door and the man who thought it wise to run out there.
“SIR, GET AWAY FROM THE DOOR!!” she screamed in a panic.
