It tends to hurt the story when you do something you don't know enough about or you shoe horn in with the might of an atom bomb such impossible events as Slavic occupation of Britain. This is in a large part an insult on more than one party. Not to mention the context which has to be written in order for something as large as this would need to be very, very large. And the Slavs simply do not have the period strengths to do it.And when doing alternate history you damn sure have to know what you're talking about. And when people who don't try to do big things it's only a headache. And it breaks immersion. I don't care if it's supposed to be funny or not, it breaks the immersion of the world.The simple solution is to just not do alternate history and go pure fantasy or fictional universe. All your problems are solved.
