I'd be more available to do stuff, but I've got essays to write and Finals to study for until the end of next week.

I probably would've jumped in tonight if not for that.
I used to love Celtic Music. That was before I realized the vast majority of Celtic music artists on YouTube are just some nerds shoving nature noises and badpipes into a sound synthesizer and calling whatever the program craps out "Celtic."

I still like actual Celtic music, but I find it much safer to look up traditional Scandinavian music, even though there are pitfalls to that idea as well, such as white supremacist comment sections.

(No, seriously. You don't get much more racist than a comment section for a Viking song on Youtube.)

Also, I stopped liking Rap when I was 13, then started liking it again when I turned 18. I now like some Rap, much like I like some of pretty much all popular music genres.
On that note, @neogreggory, concerning the different types of battles:

What I wrote up for single combat would apply well to group combat if we wanted to briefly consider what a group would be like. Rather than define an entire group for group battles, however, I'd instead make a write up for the leader and the team itself. A bit of clever rewriting to the rules could create a setup where <X> number of members are injured, or <Y> number are slain.

The paired contests could use two characters instead of one. Simple as that.

Archery contests would just be a straight-up roll made once. Same for beast mastery contests, though beast mastery would also involve wounds. (Beast mastery = slaying a bunch of animals.)
Did one last, brief edit to the system, clarifying something:

2 minor wounds ONLY confer their -1 penalty to wound rolls, not to combat rolls. (I originally wrote it differently like a dork, but that wasn't my intention.) Only major wounds and permanent wounds apply their penalty to both wound rolls and combat rolls.
Okay, so class ended early. I have an opportunity to go over my idea for a dice system. It'll be similar to the system ZB and I used in some of the Zaqir-Ashkar wars.

This is going to be a rough system used solely for determining the results of the Almurzani.

Does this make sense to everyone?

It's meant to be lethal, but unless a fight goes on for a while or you get utterly trounced, you won't suffer death or permanent wounds in the first battle.

I want my character to heal up this turn

You can take another action instead of just healing. Healing will happen over time, or instantly if you use the blessing from the Children of Mercy.
<Snipped quote by Shorticus>

That'd be fine, but the last time I tried to create a combat-orientated dice system for the guild, I got run out of town by a mob of super angry nerds.

So if you want to put your neck on the line, and risk being cannibalised by a cross-community lynch mob, then be my guest!

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
Howdy, Seravee! Glad to see your message.

Since you mentioned both fantasy and cyberpunk, I'd love to suggest that you look up Shadowrun. It's a pretty neat setting, and it's got a lot of variety in content, and there's megacorporations ruling the world, and there's dragons, and there's crazy gangs that dress up like it's Halloween... It's good stuff, and there'd be no world building necessary. If that interests you, we could try that.

Or we could try cyberpunk played straight. It doesn't take a huge stretch of the imagination to say "It's the year 2066, and the world is way different than it was fifty years ago." Or 2100. Or... name a year. I wouldn't mind doing the heavy lifting in world building.

I also wouldn't mind doing the heavy lifting in fantasy world building. I've got a flash drive that's all maps and flags I've drawn up. Just... Yeah.

Anyway, I'd be very interested in knowing what sort of plot you'd want to pursue. Feel free to narrow your choices on setting, too. I'd rather you pick than me when it comes to setting.

As for writing samples: I'll trust you'll be enjoyable to write with once we get started.

Finally, I'd like to note that I'll be fairly busy until the end of next week (my last Final is Thursday). I can do a lot of in-depth discussion this weekend, though, in preparation for RP.

EDIT: Also, folks, I'm probably going to be hopping off of the Guild for the day. I should be back later tonight, but I've got to get back to studying and writing some short papers. Hopefully this isn't bad timing for anyone. And I'll be around Friday for sure, but probably not this Thursday. (It's tabletop game night tomorrow.)
