@Hael On the note of technology...

So, I wanted my species to be VERY advanced technologically, but have almost nothing designed for warfare. Given that, and given that I'm planning on having a population of roughly 10,000 remaining, what sort of limits would you suggest for me technologically?

Out of curiosity, will the map be given more terrain features for ease of use in the future? I.E. mountains, rivers?
Banned for banning.
I've got a post in the works.

Hoping to post it tonight.
Yeah, that's EXACTLY the sort of feeling I want. They probably settled matters rather peacefully before, because the way their hormones and mental processes are set up and the way life on their original planet was probably developed... They didn't know much strife and didn't need to compete for resources.

It'd have to be a planet in which they probably developed a means of survival pre-sentience that involved just not getting eaten, so they're probably omnivores that favor plantlife.

I imagine they have very little natural aggression, and so they themselves make really awful combatants whose instincts in such situations would NORMALLY scream "flight." It had to have taken severe training and diligence to get to the point where they could fight back against the X'cor... after, y'know, already being bombed and conquered and enslaved.

I haven't decided if this fleet consists of former slaves OR consists of the remnants of the race that escaped conquest. I'm leaning toward the latter, thus why they still have their own vessels.

I love it!

So, is this still going to be a "refugee" style thing, or have you now abandoned that concept in favor of a fishy-fish empire?

Refugee style, I think. I like the idea of these normally peace-loving aliens being conquered, enslaved, and forced to flee to try and get help in their war for liberation against the X'cor.

The way I see it, they're highly technologically advanced, but they're few in number and the technologies they have just aren't made for war. They're WAY more peaceful than most species would be naturally. I imagine the idea of "war" never occurred to them until they were forced into it by the X'cor.
Well... I just did some digging and realized there's an idea I never got to use. I'm gonna do it.

Behold: pictures for a weird aquatic bipedal species which apparently is going to be a weird mammalian-jellyfishthing mix!

@Shorticus Your possible Fleet/Refugees have safe sanctuary in the Federation :D

Oh, by the way: I'm having trouble seeing the pictures for some of your races. The images seem broken for some reason.

Lauder's obsession with enslaving gives ME an idea!

Perhaps Shorticus's people were once slaves of the X'Cor (Lauder's race), but they stole a small fleet of ships from their slavemasters and escaped. Now they roam the galaxy, constantly pursued by X'Cor Slavers, attempting to find a home...

That's similar to one of the ideas I was considering. I'm going to chew on this more, but yeah.

I imagine they killed a bunch of the SUPERIOR RACE OF THE X'COR on their way to freedom, and maybe a ton of their relatives were executed for this.
