In fact, I wont allow anyone to live past 1000

Should I reduce the max age of Namilee from 1,000 to 800 or so?
Six-legged insect bunnies.
<Snipped quote by Shorticus>

The X'Cor are more about slavery than eating people. Perhaps the Mabronnans ate those aliens? It would mean first contact would occur early on in the RP due to proximity.

I meant eat as a joke, but that would work if your nation is close enough.

...But then that'd mean the Namilee are just as terrified of your people (who EAT aliens) as they are of the X'cor.
(I was tempted to say "technology", but then I remembered that they Xim don't give two shits about technology compared to how much they care about biology )

Well, they MIGHT be interested in the technologies the Namilee have which are related to what they can DO with their DNA and their biological knowledge, but that's very specific.
In the case of empires knowing each other:

As the Namilee never really had an empire and I assume their territory is somewhere around the border of X'cor space, I'm going to assume people might know OF them, and they might know OF other species, but they're relatively isolated historically (sans from a race they uplifted - which probably got eaten by the X'cor) and maybe exploring civilizations.

Basically, they might have met people, but as they were never expansionist... Well, they never expanded much.
I think the reason NRP's suffer so much early death is they bring out competitiveness more than other rp's do. It's almost a rule that an NRP must have at least one guy claiming unreasonable powers, fully expecting that he's going to 'Win' and take everything over. The end result is usually bickering in the OOC, which then kills the RP.

This is one of the reasons I decided to make everyone be on the same side in my NRP.

Also, video game nostalgia.
I'll repost Aaron's map on IMGUR later if your computer can see IMGUR, @Blueflame.
A lot of NRPs are short lived, that's for sure. It's why I kind'a admire that you guys still have a thread kicking after five goddamned years.
It is kind of cool, but I figured it was worth noting that someone could quite literally say 3 words and that'd be a post. I know a lot of the posts in Masters of the Hidden Valley are very short OOC posts. There's only... three pages of IC posting.
Precipice of War actually existed for YEARS beyond that and comes from the old website.

As far as I can tell, it's the result of patience and dedication and has existed for... Uh, I'm not the person to ask. But it's existed since basically the 1300's. BC. Real life.

It's a long-lasting RP is what my exaggerated saying is intended to mean.

But really, there's no contest to be the longest running or most-posts-in-thread roleplay. And remember that a TON of those posts in each thread are gonna be OOC posts.
