That's perfectly understandable. Not exactly GM, but I think it might do to have a couple traits established, particularly if, no, since there seem to be at least two characters (Father John, teaching classes, and Carolyn, following information to Miskatonic) who may know of Emil. Doesn't need to be fleshed out, but perhaps what someone may notice from observing him? Thus, changes can be justified as simply not knowing him well, and it gives them an idea on how they should react to, say, seeing your character at the library. Is he a frequent patron and so it's normal? Or is he seen so infrequently that it's considered an unusual event?

As I said, I get it, though, especially since I can literally have a character change from time of sheet postage to time of first post due to execution.

Now that you say that, I think it's a good idea to do something like that. I'll come up with a few traits later on or tomorrow morning.
@Sigurd Looks okay to me, just really curious to what Günther is hiding.

The rest of you, looking forward to seeing your characters. I'll get mine up soon too.

It's not as much about hiding things, it's just me not liking to limit myself to specific traits from the get go.
@millificent228Nothing too strict. I understand everyone has more important things in their lives, so it won't be a problem if you don't post all the time as long as you let us know beforehand if you're planning on taking a break, so that we know what to do with your character.

Maybe a paragraph or two once a day, or every two days, if you can manage?

And glad to see you're interested. :)

There is roughly my character. Tell me if anything needs to change.
@ONL
Great!

As for my character: I think I'll be playing a young German lad, a student of linguistics, who came to spend a semester at the Miskatonic University.

I am guessing that would make my experience interesting, since them dastardly Germans were not very popular in the USA after World War 1.

Is the Character Sheet going to be the same as in the old RP you linked?
Awesome! I am interested if there's room for one more.
@POOHEAD189No need to rush. The others seem to have disappeared. :D
@Scrapula
Great. I guess I'll now repost it in the Characters tab.
@ScarifarShit, I thought I had the OOC tab open...

Well, sorry about that. I'll repost it here.

REPOST

...but he has a beard and hair now, long and black, tied behind his head.
Name: Olfin Bearhide
Race: Orc
Personality: Olfin is sometimes hard to understand when he speaks, and he finds it hard to utter certain sentences. An arrow pierced his neck in one of his battles and damaged his speech organs, and now he sounds harsh and even more beastlike than a regular orc. This may result in him using his hands to explain what he means. He hates magic and anything with arcane properties. He was even distrustful of his shamans back home, and he never prays to any god. He's fearless, somewhat in a dumb way. Finds it hard to understand anything remotely more civilised than a mercenary gang, and he carries its principles with him, as well as the natural law of the orcs.
Background: Olfin is an adult orc who comes from northernost taigas of Ruritania in the east, which is home to many orcish tribes. He was raised in harsh environments where he had to survive as best as he could from the moment he could walk. He was a hunter at first, with his tribesmen, and that is how he earned his nickname Bearhide, by killing a massive she-bear whose pelt he now wears as a cloak. Eventually he became a warrior when tribes started making alliances amongst each other to wage war for scarce farmable land. He proved to be a good fighter, but his side started losing the battle, and he was forced to flee and become a mercenary in countless gangs. He’s been travelling for years now, looking for ways to earn money, and this expedition seemed like a good investment.
Abilities: He can speak orcish and almost all human languages he picked up on his mercenary quests. He’s huge, 6'6'' tall, can use most melee weapons very well. He knows how to recognise bad intent in people he meets, and he's the guy you call when someone has been bad and needs their head crushed, although he never kills the innocent (and who is innocent is up to him to decide).
Equipment: A two-handed ax on his back, two one-handed axes on his belt, a couple of daggers, his bearcloak, armour consisting of various different, non matching pieces, mostly chain, plate and leather, and some horrible food he brings in a bag.
