Yeah, I wouldn't mind some people playing as races such as that, from experimentation or otherwise, but I'd like to stick to undead characters for the most part. I feel like if there were a ton of characters playing as non-canon races it wouldn't fit the whole Dark Souls atmosphere. I'm not trying to restrict creativity, but there's roleplays where numerous races work and there's ones where they don't, and I don't think they'd work in a world such as this.

I'm gonna get to work on an opening and the such soon, and get some more ideas to start off with. If anyone wants to throw some more ideas in, please feel free! :)
I'm interested :o
I wasn't planning on using the same bosses, this would be farther in the future. The lord souls would be in other beings by then, ones that we could create. We would have room to create what we want, but still stick to Dark Souls lore at the same time.

Sorta like how you The Old Iron King possessed the Old King Soul in Dark Souls 2, which was said to be either Gwyn's soul or a part of it, we could have our own different bosses that're hosting the souls.
Yeah, I think it'd be cool if we made something original to roleplay in, but I think it would also be cool if we had our storyline focused around the first flame. I'm not exactly sure how we could do that, way later in history, like the transformation between Lordran and Drangleic, though I don't believe we could actually work that out.

Another idea though, perhaps we could do an alternate ending of Dark Souls 1? From the events of Dark Souls 2, it pretty much makes it known that the Chosen Undead kindled the first flame, but what if he didn't? I'm not an expert in Dark Souls lore, but what do you all think about this? Perhaps the first flame went out, and the world was thrust into the Age of Dark. The Age of Dark setting in would cause abyss to spread across the world, and possibly all humans to become undead, though I'm not sure how that works exactly. I was thinking that maybe the only sources of hope left would be the lord souls/soul shards, the ones from Gwyn, The Witch of Izalith, Gravelord Nito, and the Furtive Pygmy. This would only be a legend to the remnants of the living humans/undeads, but I was thinking that our characters would be attempting to find these souls.

I'm not sure if that even makes sense, but that's an idea I have now. Not anything official, just something I wanna throw in. What do you all think about a story like this?
Okay cool, there's four of us now! I don't have much in the way of ideas yet, but I'll brainstorm ideas and we can all agree on what we want in the roleplay.
Ah, do you mean the gyrm? I forgot about them completely, mistake on my part.

Yay, interest! I hope we're able to start this up. If anyone has ideas, feel free to say them :3
I'd have to say that most, if not all players would be undead, maybe some un-cursed humans if the plot allows it. I say this because in Dark Souls there's not much in the way of sentient races that aren't just too drastically different from humans to work out. So probably no elves or dwarves or anything like that, but if someone can create a unique character that fits into the lore of Dark Souls, I'd be fine with that.

There won't be any set classes or anything, you can do pretty much whatever you want as long as it makes sense and isn't overpowered. Sorcery, dark magic, plain old swords and shields, anything that would go well with the plot of Dark Souls is perfectly fine with me.
Hey, would anyone be interested in a roleplay based on Dark Souls? I don't have much of a concept yet, but if people are interested we could work together to establish a story that would fit. The lore of Dark Souls is really elaborate and awesome, and it would be a lot of fun to roleplay.

If anyone hasn't heard of Dark Souls before, it's a video game about an undead's journey to you can check out this lovely video to get an idea...

Also, here's a lore page on the wiki that might help. http://darksouls.wiki.fextralife.com/Lore

So, anyone interested?
Kindle isn't gonna be happy when he learns that there's drinks at this party o-o
Kindle sat on his bed hugging his legs, his head resting atop his knees. The rest of his day had been spent attempting to drill combat skills into his brain to the point of frustration. No matter how hard he has tried, nothing has stuck, not like it has for the other demi-gods at least. When his frustration had amounted to levels that he could no longer handle, Kindle went back to his room with a blistering headache to spend the rest of the day bundled up under blankets with a pillow clutched to his chest.

It was earlier that day when Kindle had heard about the party occurring tonight. From what he'd snatched, anyone was welcome to join in, but he hadn't learned much else. The last couple of hours had been spent pondering whether or not he should go. Kindle didn't know why it was so hard for him, but the prospect of a party seemed so daunting to him. He didn't even know what kind of party it would be. The only kind of "party" he'd ever known about were the ones that his father had hosted, and the thought sent a bubble of anxiety through him.

Looking down, Kindle noticed that his nails were chewed to the bed, the skin around his fingertips red. He'd barely even noticed that he had been doing it, so caught up in his thoughts he had been. Maybe he just wouldn't go, another knight curled up, alone in his room wouldn't be all that bad... No, he couldn't just lie around and hope that friends would come to him, that would never happen, he'd need to actually leave his room if he ever wanted to meet other people. Closing his eyes, Kindle sighed then pull himself off his bed, heading over to his dresser to choose what to wear.

All of Kindle's clothes were too big for him, his pants trailing underneath his shoes and his sleeves running down to hide his hands. He didn't need to dress up, did he? Kindle decided just to wear his usual knit coat, afterwards wrapping a grey scarf around his neck. Not so much for warmth than comfort, the tight cloth wrapped around his neck somehow made him feel safe. Kindle reached up and pulled on a little strand of his already straight red hair, making sure that it was in place. Looking at his face in the mirror, Kindle winced a bit. His mother was the goddess of youth, though that did nothing to mend the dark bags under his eyes that had cursed him since he could remember.

There was no use in holding off this moment any longer, and being late would just draw unnecessary attention on his part, so turning from the mirror Kindle stepped out the door of his room. Making his way down the hallway toward the exit, Kindle would pause for a moment before stepping out into the night.
