And here I thought that was half of his problem.
@Caits

Lava flooding the streets and areas getting painted in blood and gore is an everyday occurrence in the capital of the country that banned magic for the past hundred years or so?
@Silvan Haven
Crocus is a mostly magical city. I don't know if i mentioned it but it now has the largest population of mages, with magnolia second. The non mages would probably be use to magic.

And a lot of places in the southern United States are used to guns but they would still take it extremely seriously if people started setting off high powered bombs inside a city.
I known the basic premise, I just never watched the actual show.

I hate to say this cause people always go up in arms whenever comparisons are made between space shows but I think Universe might actually have survived if they'd made it a bit more like Star Trek Voyager. They took themselves too seriously.

Never saw Voyager so I can't comment.
So this thing has been bugging me since last night. I decided to wait until everybody was done partying before bringing it up.

Why is the city not under martial law?

Just in the time I have been watching there have been four separate instances of S class releases of magic power. The only time you should be getting that much magic flying around is in a warzone. Supposedly people are still wary of magic but I've barely even seen other player characters noticing, much less the actual authorities.
There was nothing particularly wrong with Stargate Universe as a premise. The idea of an ancient ship lost light years away from Earth with a human crew was actually fairly valid. The reason the series died was because essentially all of the characters were either unlikable, unrelatable or just downright stupid. There was no emotional connection for the audience cause the writers more or less failed to make us like anyone on Destiny enough to give a crap about whether they lived or died.

The other Stargate series had a good balance between, action, humor, and a human element. Universe was pretty much all action all the time. Universe is essentially what SG-1 would have become had Michael Shanks not quite and forced the writers to take a hard look at what they were doing to the series.

Thaaaats pretty much what my point was. They went younger and edgier in an attempt to connect with new audiences. Which was exactly what part of the 200th episode made fun of.

The basic premise of the show is pretty much the first season of Atlantis. Certainly workable.
Stargate Universe is what happened when the writers looked at that joke episode and went "yeah, that looks like a good idea to make into another series."

Is it any wonder the thing died as fast as it did?

For some reason I never made that connection. Good to know me and Forsythe aren't the only Stargate enthusiasts in the RP.

Proud owner of both series and the original movie.

They never made a third one.

Ever.
The connection would probably be cut. Later seasons have the gate system act like a telephone network so I dont think that you would have any problems relating to galactic coordinates. However I doubt that the wormhole would react well to the move through hyperspace needed to get the gate out of the system within the thirty eight minute time limit.

What? I am the guy with Daniel Jackson as my avatar.
