Georgie combed through all the information James had on the Triple Goddess and Horned God. One she hid in her dimension, but that didn't mean whatever he used to seal him couldn't do the same for his sister. Elemental magic, substantially weaker apart (but she doesn't have a point of reference for how powerful they are in general to know if that'd do them any good or not), and they have weakness to artificial materials. Artificial? As in anything made by human hands, even if it's made with natural materials? Or purely artificial? James didn't specify. She'll have to play it safe just in case. Better to be overly cautious than to slack behind. Georgie stored the books in her dimension for emergency purposes while they confront the cult.

Georgie was in the kitchen when she overheard Justin say they were ready to go. She couldn't have been gone long enough for them to have a decent plan. She opened the cabinet under the sink and pulled out all the cleaning chemicals: bleach, dish soap and detergent, wood cleaners, lysol, glass cleaner, whatever she could get her hands on, and stored it all in her dimension. If these monkey brains can't come up with a good plan, then she'll have to provide contigences. Chemicals for the Goddess, and the rifle for an escape. She hopes that'll be the last option, because it could send them somewhere else and not back home. She doesn't want to be responsible for single handedly fucking them off to another world.

She grabbed her coat and set off with the rest of them into the woods.

~*~

The walk through the woods was awkward. She couldn't remember the last time she went on a family venture outside the mansion. The Northern Twat was swinging through the trees like Tarzan, everyone else looked out of place. She wasn't dressed properly for a trek through the forest nor did she have the time to change into something more appropriate. All her hunting clothes were back in the flat she had in London. She rarely went to the country for such excursions, especially since she broke up with Lucian. Her poor dress won't last through this; she knows it. If they can get there. A skeleton creature appeared from the trees, she assumes, because she couldn't see from behind all her tall siblings. It wanted to talk to them, minus Justin, his partner, and Northern Twat.

"Lovely. Another of James's past problems, is it?" Georgie kept her distance, a little behind Ezra, rifle in her hands instead of hanging from her shoulder. She checked the chamber when she first picked it up and knew it was empty, but better safe than sorry. She double checked it. Still empty, but he didn't have to know that. She made sure no one was in the way of the barrel. If they needed a quick escape she can't have anyone in the way of the bayonet when she opened the portal.

Ezra asked it questions and the Northern Twat said something. Her nattering went through one ear and out the other. Other than everything magic feeling off to her, she doesn't remember reading anything in James's books about a skeleton man. She hasn't read everything, sure, but he only named a handful of the people as important earlier. The only man he spoke about was--oh no.

"Thornton Walters. Is that who you are?" She hopes not. Father didn't speak kindly about him; even seemed fearful.

Georgie eyed Shane's back when he walked off to James's bar. "I veto taking him anywhere with him sloshed. Exclude him from all plans, until he's sober." Like hell she wants to be anywhere near him while there's magic involved and he's drunk. That's like getting into a car with a drunk driver. She's too smart and too pretty to die young. If he wants to be the next one to fuck off and die, then leave her out of it.

Perhaps she's given them all too much credit, because Justin just asked what everyone can do in front of the outsider like he's asking them out for lunch. This was a disaster if she's ever seen one. Justin showed off his fire balls. Ezra played around with his cup of tea, which she couldn't help herself but to join his side catch what he poured over the deck into her thermos, before he turned it off. Other than her, and before James died, Ezra is the only other person in the family that knows how to make a delicious cup of tea. She needs seconds to make up for her evening tea time. Her previous cup was for the one she missed when they were attacked. Every is better after she has her tea. She took a sip and wasn't wrong about Ezra's skills. Absolute superb.

However, the horse and pony show that was her siblings telling all, especially what's-his-face that isn't Alexander the Elder (told her your weakness, best tell her your mother's maiden name and your social security number too), dampened the taste of her tea. Might as well had drunk ashes and water. Then the real show began as the Northen Twat took her magic for a spin like a circus freak. If she were eight she'd be impressed. The whatever-she-calls-them snaked between her legs; she couldn't help moving out their way for fear she'd grab them all up and they'd be trapped. Her tea time is most definitely ruined. She didn't bother to finish the thermos and closed it up. Then she had a finger pointed at her. She couldn't understand what she said, but she gleamed it was her turn to demonstrate. Bloody hell she is.

"Didn't I say to keep mum around the Northern Twat? And here I thought you were all smarter than the monkey brained cunts that attacked us today. If you want a detailed explanation of what I can do, Justin, I'll gladly talk to you in private, but not with her around." She distastefully looked at the outsider, then turned her displeasure to Ezra. "I thought you were smarter than that. The DNA test isn't even back yet and you've thrown all caution to the wind. Hope you're generosity isn't as free as James's cock was. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have research to do on the Triple Goddess while you all smash your one brain cell together to come up with an idea that isn't a clusterfuck to get us all killed." Georgie left them to it, dumping her thermos in the sink for servant girl to clean up later.

She put her coat back in the closet of the entrance hall, then went to the living room where all the books they collected were piled in their designated stacks. She opened a small portal and hid James's rifle away for safekeeping. Everyone knew not to touch anything James held dear to him, but with that Twat around she couldn't take the chance that she wouldn't nab it just to see if it could shoot. She picked up the book on the Triple Goddess and started from page one. If they knew all James knew, then whatever plan they came up with wouldn't fuck them over. After all, the last smart thing Justin said was that she was the priority.

Georgie wasn't prepared for the surprise that came home with Ezra. Even went through the whole spiel she's heard a hundred times before. She'll do just as well to pretend the girl doesn't exist like all the new siblings they aren't sure about, until the DNA results are in. This time though, Georgie wasn't buying it. If the girl just arrive today, then logically she can't be a Vanburen. She would have turned to stone a week or so ago. She's surprised Ezra didn't think of it, but the results will come in soon enough and it will confirm what she already knows.

Turns out she'll be harder to ignore, for the northen twat nittered on and on and on. Oh God, it speaks. And not well might she add. She couldn't make out neary a thing coming out of her mouth. All she understood was Ezra trying to get her to shut up, and when he suggested they do literally anything else she couldn't see the merit behind it. So what if they died. Best to kill your enemies than to give them a second chance. He was so like James it was a tad unsettling.

Arabelle showed them the ram's head that went missing. So she did have it all along. Good. Best case scenario. Talk of negotiating went on and she couldn't help the slight giggle that came out. Ha! As if those monkey brained cunts even knew what negotiate meant. They weren't smarter than primary school students. Even Patty wasn't that dumb.

"Whatever we come up with will end in violence anyway. If we try to negotiate it will turn into a fight. If we ambush them we'll most likely win the fight. The most important thing here was keeping the ram's head away from them and it wouldn't be safe with Arabelle." She walked up to Arabelle more focused on the object than the girl herself. "You got it away, because you were lucky enough to talk to one of them. However, she's also aware that you were the last one with it. If she snitches, then they'll come for you." Georgie looked at her briefly, then took the ram's head from her. A voice tried to convince her to set it free and while it was tempting she's not an easy girl. "I came up with a plan on what to do with the worst of James's apparitions. I'll take care of this." She went back into the kitchen, but before she got too far, she turned around and pointed at the ones that knew what she was about to do. "And keep mum around..." she nodded towards the Northern Twat. "...that. Can't have outsiders knowing too much." Then she continued on her way out of sight to the living room down the hall.

Georgie opened her portal and closed it behind her. She did the same thing she did before, separated the flowers, buried it in the dirt, then commanded her flowers to bury it far and deep. She came back to the group once she was done and drank down the rest of her tea. "Now that the Horned God is out the way, what was this idea about contacting the traitor girl? How would we find her for one-on-one time? And if we do, we need to cross reference anything she says about the Triple Goddess with information in James's book. If she lies to us we're dead."

Alexander the Elder requested they all call him Sasha. Eh. Maybe if she cared enough, which she doesn't. She went through her section pulling books off one by one, skimming through to find out where they were sealed. She memorized each, then put them in her Garden for further reading later. After she finished, she pulled all the items she could carry at a time and put them in the living room. Most of her section was missing or persons of interests: The Many Eyed One, Mayor Crest, The Nightmare, The Oasis, Mary Roberts, Shade, Shimmer, and The Swan. She put them in the missing pile. The Rage of Dying Animals was the only one she could do something with. James mentioned a his, but didn't elaborate. Could be Thorton Walters. If he's as dangerous as James says he is, then he can't get his hands on something this deadly. She stepped inside her Garden, closed the portal behind her, then clapped her hands and parted them. The flowers separated creating a row of dirt. She buried the mound of harden clay The Rage of Dying Animals was sealed in, clapped her hands again, the flowers came back together and hid the object. It was lost to her now, until she called for her Garden to reveal it.

Georgie came back just in time for Justin to call a meeting with the family outside in the cold. All this work and she forgot all about tea time. It was so late. Almost 6:30pm. It's almost time for evening tea. She wasn't in a rush to get outside. She started the kettle in the kitchen, then went to the coat closet down the hall for her fur coat, matching hat, and gloves. She detoured back to the living room for James's rifle and slung the strap onto her shoulder. If they need to leave the house it might come in handy. She came back just in time for the tea to whistle. She poured the hot water into a thermos, then added her mint teabag. She joined her family outside, sipping her tea for warmth. It was scalding hot, perfect. She doesn't see him for a few hours and Justin came up with a terrible idea. The other brother she's not familiar listed off the magic abilities of each witch they knew so far. She made a note of herself.

"Yes, yes, all fine and well, but are we going to plan this time around? Last time we were ambushed, but that doesn't mean we should make an arse of ourselves and finish a fight with our pants around our ankles. I assume everyone knows what works for them and what doesn't. I can't fight that Morgana girl, her beasts, or one of the imposters. The Garden isn't fire retardant. Also, to cut down on liabilities those of us that are useless should stay behind."

Hearing Justin agree with her assumptions made her smile. Of course she figured it out. This magic thing wasn't as complicated it seemed to be. All she had to do was pay attention and draw conclusions from observations just like any other subject she's ever excelled at. The fact Oscar spent a year studying and still didn't know enough to get them out of this situation told her he wasn't trying hard enough. She might as well hit the books herself. It'll help them all in the long run. Oscar should stick to what he's good at. Magic isn't it.

"My only thing is..." Justin hesitated. Whatever he wanted to ask she knew was on the tip of his tongue, but he wouldn't spit it out like he was searching for another question instead.

"... Are you the only person that can get in there? Or better yet, are you sure you are?" Obviously wasn't what he wanted to ask, but Georgie wasn't going to fish for something that she didn't care to know. He'll either ask or won't.

"Yes. According to the ring." She showed the golden carnation jewelry on her finger.

"Every person that wields it creates a pocket dimension of their making. When they pass on, the dimension collapses, because it's tied to the wielder's life force. And if the previous wielder is still alive, but lost the ring, the ring can't access the previous dimension. Seems to me like it's the perfect fail-safe."

Justin pulled Tuyen aside. While they do that, it's time for the rest of them to get to work. She quickly divided up the work in her head, the pointed at each of her siblings as she delegated work.

"We're going to work in sections. Elder Alexander, you're sections A thru F, Patty G thru L, I'll take M thru S, Alexander T thru X, and whoever gets done first can take care of Y and Z. James organized people by last names first and everything else by first name or title. We don't have a time limit, but let's make some type of headway before everyone else comes back. If there's any questions fill free to ask."

She clapped her hands, then set off to the library to work on her sections, hoping everyone pulled their weight and it ran smoothly like she outlined.
@The Ghost Note Yes, please.

Georgie leaned against the door way, not seeing the point in sitting down again when they'll be off collecting artifacts soon enough. Justin wasn't as useless as she thought he was. He actually had good ideas. Mayhaps she missed judged him. Still not an expert in her eyes, but an ally that's useful is good enough.

"If Shane and the rest are handling it, then leave them be. He didn't seem sloshed when they left and if he was a half decent cop, then he'll know how to investigate. I'll text him to call you," She paused, thinking back to when Oscar introduced the imposter earlier. "Jus-tin...?" She thinks that's his name. She pulled out her phone and texted Oscar.

Call Justin. He has a lead on the witches.

She went to the coffee table in front of the couch, then opened her portal and pulled out each book on Apparitions she collected from the library, and placed them on the table. She put Babylon the Great, Thornton Walters, the Triple Goddess and the Horned God on the left, and the Swarm and the Hands stacked together on the right.

"All of these are what James mentioned. We should go through each book, find each artifact, and then divide them into Apparitions that weren't stolen and Apparitions that were or entities and people we should worry about." She pointed to the Swarm and Hands, and Babylon the Great and company respectively.

"Once we have stock of everything accounted for and those that weren't, we should divide and conquer. Those of us without combat magic can figure out where to put the artifacts we do have and those of us that do have combat magic should read about all the ones we don't have. I suggest we hide the most dangerous ones in the Garden."

She looked at Justin, because she knew squat about how magic sensing works or if that was even a thing. "Is it possible they knew to come here, because they sensed the magic throughout the mansion? If that's the case wouldn't it be beneficial to hide artifacts in a pocket dimension not in this plane with only one entrance and exit?" She hoped she phrased that right. Magic and fiction weren't her forte at all.

Georgie shouldn't have expected a real answer from James. Check alphabetically. If it were that simple, sure. She wouldn't put it passed Alexander to get his grubby little hands on James's books, then not put them back where they belonged or Patty to do something untoward with them. Never mind. She doesn't know how to read. If it doesn't have pictures she wouldn't touch them. Alexander the eldest suggested one of them go look. Georgie didn't hesitate to stand up.

"It was almost pleasant seeing you again, James. It's been so long I nearly forgot I only want your money. Good as any consolation for messing up my life plans. Ta-ta, love." She blew him kisses, then left the living room.

She had no intention on coming back. She had research to do. The library looked like someone was looking for something and didn't care that they left it a mess. At least the bookshelves were fine. She looked on the ground floor, then the first level of the library and there was no ram's head to be found. Looks like they got what they came here for, mayhaps. She pulled out her phone and texted Erza about the servant girl that went missing. She didn't leave out the door with Oscar and everyone else nor was she in the living room. She couldn't remember if that's what Erza left for in the first place, but she has a hunch.

James said the witches were here for a ram's head. It's missing and so is the servant girl. Know anything about it?

Georgie moved on with her research, since that was a bust until he texted her back. James said in alpha order, but not if by first name or last, so she started with B for Babylon the Great. The book on the apparition was heavy and detailed too much to get through in a day. It'll keep her preoccupied for the week, however, she did find out where he sealed if after skimming the first few pages. Nasty. She wants nothing to do with something so vile, but it has to remain sealed. He said he sealed her in an orange vase. That should be easy to find just not in the library. It was mostly dark wood and matching patterns. Not a sliver of color to brighten it up, but she does recall a vase matching the description in the gallery where the other art pieces were. She created a small portal and threw the book inside. She's not carrying more than she has to. She moved on to H for Hands and Horned God, S for Swarm, T for Triple Goddess (Thornton Walters wasn't there), and W for Walters, Thornton. The Swarm was more complicated and wouldn't be as easy to hide the pieces short of throwing them in the ocean. The pieces wouldn't be easy to find either. The book says he sealed it away in pieces of a broken rubix cube. If they have to go on a wild goose chase to find it in the house, then isn't it better off to leave well enough alone? She found the artifact the Hands was sealed in. Of what she's read so far that one was the least disgusting, but seemingly the most harmless. They could let it stay where it was. No one would look twice at a James's name plague on his desk. That vase, however, couldn't stay where it was.

Georgie went down the hall to the gallery and found an empty space where she remembered it being. On the far right wall under a painting of Dante's Inferno by Paul Chenavard.

"Right on the nose much, James." And of course it was gone. She hadn't thought twice about a stolen vase when the mansion was ransacked weeks ago. She wasn't even here when it happened. Great. She'll definitely have to study the book now that something that powerful is on the loose. She opened a portal to her Garden big enough for her to fit through. She picked up the books off the ground and set them on the trolley she used when picking flowers for the week so they wouldn't get dirty. Finally something to focus on, but she can study later. By now she assumes James is laid back to rest, and they're expecting her to come back with the news that the ram's head is gone. So she left her sanctuary and went back to the living room.

"It's gone and so is the vase Babylon the Great was sealed in. The witches might have taken the head, servant girl might have it, or both were taken when the mansion was broken into. We'll have to wait and see."

Georgie met everyone back in the living room, happy to be dry and somewhere that wasn't wet. She nearly took a seat in an arm chair, but one of her brothers she didn't know tried to make awkward conversation. Something or other about being in strange family. She promptly moved away from him and sat on the couch instead. She wanted her space and not to be around strangers. After what just happened she wanted familiar, but most of those that were left her with Strange brother, Patty, Alexander, and Alexander the eldest. Two she couldn't stand and two she didn't know at all. Alexander the eldest summoned James. She'd only gotten a peak of him nude, before she covered her eyes and tried not to vomit. That's not what she wanted to see and made a point to try to forget in the days to come.

She peeked behind her hands once she heard James for the first time, since last years Christmas dinner. He sounded the same, looked the same in his suit. She'd think him alive if it wasn't for his translucent form. She kind of missed him now that he was in front of her again. No, that's a lie. She missed the normal he represented for nineteen of her twenty years. Summers in the mansion, her garden, time spent in art museums and photobooks, his encouragement to follow her ambitions. No matter how much she said she didn't care for him it's a lie she said to herself, because she couldn't afford to be distracted. She never did cry at his funeral last year and now wasn't the time to do it either. She sniff and patted her eyes dry. If they could take a break after this, she'll need a moment.

James mentioned the name of a man she's never heard of. A Thorton Walters. She put a pin in the name to follow up with in his library when she had the chance. According to him he's an Apparition, but not like her Garden. The way he called him Abscised sounds more like a cancerous tumor than anything else. But it seems like the thing outside the window, the cult that attacked them and the thing they were looking for is more dangerous.

"She probably formed a cult of idiots and threw them at you all for two reasons: one, to prevent you all from tracking her and two, and most importantly, to test you all." James said.

"If we were being tested I say we all failed and got by on luck more than skill." She crossed her legs and her arms, despite changing her clothes the windows were still busted in the other room. She hopes Ezra makes a call to get it patched away before the day is done.

"I... am not aware of what abilities you all have, but her brother was my hardest battle - he almost killed me - and she's equally strong as he was. She was likely testing if she could take all of you on and take her brother back by force... This is why I heavily advise that you take the fight to her as soon as possible and seal her. However, I ask that you don't kill her cult - they're misguided - but if you have to, I will not think any less of any of you." She heard the worry and sincerity in James's voice.

"If you had a hard time fighting it, then there's more of a chance most of us will die. You don't have many children that are bright between the ears, Ja-Father." She hasn't called him that, since she left to study aboard, back before she saw him as nothing but her benefactor. She felt she had to say something to convey what she wouldn't say in front of her siblings and hoped he understood everything with that one word.

"Could you tell us where in your library we can find information on the Triple Goddess, the Horned God, and Thorton Walters? It's best we know everything, before going into a fight." She hates being caught off guard and in the dark when it's business she's involved in. The more she knows the higher her chance of survival.
