I thought it was about time someone posted. Hey, are we all still here?
"Oh, and I'm Maggie. Actually, I don't think I've told either of you my name before. Well, now I have." Ren grinned softly. I call it soft, because some of her grins were hard, a sort of menacing, Cheshire grin, where as the grin she wore now was more of a, dare I say it, real grin, slightly lazy, while also truly happy. "Maggie's a nice name."

“Never mind. Can we please go already?”

"Yeah, yeah, coming coming." Ren drawled, yawning just a tad. She was reluctant to go back, although there was no way she wanted to stay here any longer than necessary, but Seth was also at school, and she had had enough of people dragging her round by the collar, or hoodie as the case was. Softly lashing her tail, she wasn't agitated, it was just a habit, Ren stretched, purposely dawdling so as to annoy Kuro.

Sorry post is short, I've been getting the evil eye from Alex for killing her off for the first of the Twelve Labour thingies. Or in normal non crazy-and-heading-for-loony-land English; writers block. :)

"Umm, if it's not too much to ask, could I have a drink of water while I wait? Had a crook rough night sleep and I'm a bit thirsty." Alex nodded at him, "be right back." And with that she dashed off to the kitchen where she grabbed three plastic cups and a pitcher witch she filled with water, not out of the tap, but rather from a container situated on the bench, cleaner, non chemicalized water. Striding back to the workshop, she cleared a space on a workbench, and set the cups down. Filling two of them, she handed one to Akio. “Here” she grinned slugging down her drink before grabbing a few lose tools of the bench, “Whatcha doing?” She couldn’t help but be curious. Stretching she headed over to her dad, offering him the choice of tools in her hands while still watching Akio.
Yo, my turn to report writers block, sorry.
I'll try again tomorrow, kay?
She ran, fleeing for her life, chasing after the faint belief the others were still alive, even though she’d seen them die. There were noises behind her, but she didn’t turn to look, there was no point, she could never see their faces, just bulky forms, endlessly chasing her. She couldn’t keep running, gasping for breath, and she couldn’t fly, her wings broken and torn, and she certainly couldn’t fight, she felt like led-jelly, heavy and spaghetti-like, running on pure fear alone. Suddenly in front of her appeared a door, nothing else, just a heavy metal door in its frame, she didn’t think, just dashed through, not that she could have avoided it, even if she wanted to. Turning and slamming the door, she bolted it, hoping it would keep the pursuers out, but when she turned round, surveying the room, she found it was a cage of sorts, concrete walls on every side, closing in, shrinking the space rapidly, causing her to freak, her claustrophobia making her fling herself at the door, only to find just another solid concrete wall. She could still see, and so panic kept rising as the space kept shrinking. Curling herself up in a ball, tears dripping own her face, she sobbed, far to terrified to scream.

Eyes snapping open, the girl stayed frozen, tears dripping down her face, as she silently watched the pale grey light filling the room. It was cold, she never closed her curtains, but that didn’t bother her, she preferred cold. A noise from somewhere else in the cabin jolted her, offering the necessary push to get her up. Stretching out her arms and legs she rolled out of bed, feet making a slight thump when they hit the floor. Wiping the tears of her face, Fade padded out of her room, already dressed, she slept in her clothes, and started poking round the kitchen, looking for something to eat. She was not a morning person, but being up was better than sleeping, sleeping meant nightmares, something she was loath to face. She could hear the others out on the balcony, but wasn’t ready to face them quite yet, she hadn’t woken up screaming this morning, a great achievement, compared to what she used to be like, but she still hated the others seeing her as weak. Chewing at the side of her hand thoughtfully, she was gentle enough to not break her skin, instead leaving slightly indented bite marks. Finally after rummaging round and admitting she had no clue what she was looking at, Fade silently joined the others on the balcony, soaking up the sunlight, bouncing it off her obsidian-midnight wings, which she had stretched out behind her, mimicking many of the others on the balcony. Right then she was not in a talking mood, content to just listen, but that would probably change soon enough.
Stand upright on your own two feet,
Stand proud and strong,
For with pain comes power,
The power to move on.

It is not until you have seen the bad in life, that you can appreciate the good,
Nor is it till you have seen the good, that you can respect the bad.

An aggressive bird that displays great violence when defending its territory
– Wikipedia, Kārearea

Fade

Age: 16
Sex: Female
DNA: Kārearea (New Zealand falcon), Arctic wolf

Appearance(s):
Tall and skinny, much like most of the other bird kids, she looks like a boy, one of the many problems having occurred when she was created. The black comes from her wolf side of things.

Mutations
All the normal stuff from being a bird kid, great eyesight, speed, reflexes. She’s resilient against the cold, and has amazing endurance, allowing her to fly consistently for quite some time. The wolf side gives her a sharpened sense of smell, and acute hearing. All her teeth are also fairly sharp, with two small fangs coming up and down from each jaw, not really large enough to notice with just a casual glance.

Abilities: Fade’s ability is as her name suggests, to fade out of view. She cannot go entirely invisible, but she does become see-through, with just a faint, hazy outline to show where she is. She can still move around in this state, although moving excessively can become noticeable. She pretty much can render herself un-seeable, unless one knows what they are looking for. There is also the in-between phase, where she fades in/out, and she can, with a little more control, stop halfway, so she’s only part faded, and ends up looking a bit like a illusion.

Personality:
A bit aggressive sometimes, Fade manages to be both social and antisocial; you just have to pick your moment to approach her. She likes company, but not huge crowds, and gets terribly claustrophobic. Pretty cheerful, she is quiet around new people, but can talk one to the dozen if you get her started on a subject she likes. Fairly smart, she doesn't always show that, being more of a hit-them-head-on sort of person. Territorial to the last, she has managed to cultivate that urge so instead of ‘land’ it is used in protecting her 'family', touch one of them and prepare to die. Stubbornly loyal beyond words, a trait gained from the wolf, Fade hates seeing the others in her family hurt, no matter the reason. She always wishes she could protect them, from all harm that could come their way, although admits that’s not realistically possible. She also suffers from nightmares, and it is not uncommon for her to wake up crying, she has however, (for the most part,) managed to stop screaming herself awake. (And let’s face it, living in a dog cage as an experiment is going to give most people nightmares.) She is neither the strongest nor smartest in her ‘flock’, and would die for any of them if need-be.

Biography:
An earlyish version of the Erasers, she was an attempt to try and make a bird-kid/eraser crossbreed; it both worked and failed. She lived, hence the working, she was strong, but she wasn’t, in essence, an eraser, not to mention she was also uncontrollable. They never gave up on giving erasers wings, hence the winged erasers later, but that had nothing to do with her, she was pushed aside, used for other experiments, to see if they could… salvage her. She was ‘updated’ so as to be able to hunt and destroy the flock in colder climates, ice, snow and such. Although it took quite a few failed experiments to get there. Her cage was near those of the rest of the group, and they took her with them when they made their escape.

Extras:
Theme song; “And where was your watchman then?” (Cause I could)
She often prefers the world at night when the moon is strong, and everything is reduced to shades of black, white, and grey.
Much like wild wolves, Fade often uses visual signals, to communicate, although struggles a bit as she doesn’t have the ears or tail, key communication signs.
She just loves meat, from both her bird side and her wolf.
Thank you. :)
@ViolentVioletSooo…… Is Fade accepted?
Or is there something else I need to change?
(Sorry the suspense is killing me)
