Kail

As Kali touch Cecilia’s hand, there was a strangeness that took hold over the flow of time, drawing out the moment to what felt as though it was the lengths of eternity. She could feel the warmth of Cecilia’s hand as she held it, and then sensed the weight of her eyes as they bore down on Kali’s own hand. Multiple looks flashed across Cecilia’s face in that hanging moment, a full range of emotions passing through her features as Kali wondered if perhaps she had been to forward. Cecilia’s hand beneath her own noticable tensed but thankfully did not pull away. ’Perhaps I was to forward, she is a Goddess after all” Kali reminding herself, with how open and welcoming the air between the two of them had been, it was easy to forgot Cecilia’s divine stature

Kali’s heart relaxed though as the expression on Cecilia’s face finally softened as it took on a slightly reddened tone, that prolonged moment finally ending as the normal passage of time resumed. Whatever thoughts she had been wrestling with no doubt carried strong amounts of fear and pain, but Kali was glad that her presence was able to offer some comfort. As the Goddess hands slipped away, the warmth of her skin replaced with the cool mountain breeze, it was now Kali’s turn to consider her own thoughts. Her gaze settled on the ground as the implications of the Gods words spread through her hurts. ”I guess she is concerned for me. With the dangers that this path will bring I need to be certain I can face them.”.

Looking back up, Kali let her eyes meet the Goddess’s inquisitive look. Thinking for a moment longer, Kali smiled softly and smiled ’Though it may be a dangerous path this journey takes us, as long as I am with you I feel confident that I can face whatever comes across our path.” she replied firmly. Though she could not deny she was somewhat nervous, there was also a degree of excitement that bubbled through her body at the thought of adventure along with a strong desire to want to help out Cecilia. Though she was still uncertain about all of the thoughts that might trouble the goddess, if she could help at all, Kali would be glad to aid the divine being
@SimpleDhere comes another three pages in MS word :p

@Arthanus - Too true! Too true, lol... the funny thing about it is that SimpleD compliments my posts all the time. I can't imagine why. They're a great addition to this role-play I think.

...Well it wasn't three pages, only one and a half :)
Sonya

Sonya nodded in appreciation as Odessa took over the healing duties, even if was for a good cause there was a degree of selfishness to her actions. Though her attention was focused on the duel, she would let it wander back to her surroundings for brief moments so she did not miss when Odessa had finished reading the note. At the centre of the action, Silas and Carthurg were already trading blows as the steel of both weapons clashed against each other. As the wind whipped across the crowd and around both combatants, Sonya quickly learnt that this Orc had earned his place as the chieftain. Unlike the orcs from just minutes ago, the strength behind Carthrugs blows was enough to force its way through the opposings winds, slowly his strikes only a fraction.

Her mind was snapped back to her surroundings as Odessa’s soft voice reached her with "They want to make sure we have an escape plan and.. they're asking us to lead the men in retreat if things go sour..”. Sonya gave a curt nod in response, still keeping her mind focused on the battle she could only briefly consider the implications of the note. ”It’s a negative line of thought, but best to plan for the worst and hope for the best”. She responded as Silas managed to force the Orc to overextend allowing Sonya to seize the opportunity. Though her magic was unable to challenge the Orc’s strength directly, she could instead have her winds throw their weight behind the Orc, causing its motions to unbalance it more than expected, and amplifies Silas’s own strikes, as the zephyrs managed to gently guide one of the small knives deep into the Orc’s flesh.

Odessa’s voice rang out once more in comforting tones to capture Sonya’s attention "Sonya.. keep doing your thing, but let's wander over and see what we can figure out, hm?". Giving a brief nod Sonya paused for a moment before reaching out and taking Odessa’s hand and asking in a quiet voice that was just loud enough to be heard over the surrounding uproar ”Would you be able to lead the way for me? I will struggle to pay attention to both the battle and my own surroundings while in motion”, not even the mask being enough to mask her embarrassment at having to ask the question, her body language giving her away.

As the two made their way over, Sonya thankfully for the Odessa guiding her through the crowd, she was able to keep her attention on the fight, a knot forming in her stomach as Carthurg and Silas engaged in a test of strength. Even with the winds behind him Carthugs strength was monstrous enough to be overpowering for Silas, but his experience pulled through as Sonya watched in amazement how he disarmed the attack and landed a counter to the giant Orc. Catching snippets of the Conversation between Odessa and the man called Stefano (or at least she hoped it was, there had been far too many names and faces to remember in the short time they had been together), she decided to mention the work she had done earlier to the both of them ”Actually, I had discussed some tactics with Silas near the start of the battle and made some preparations. With a few moments of concentration, I can flood this dry dirt with water and replacing the solid ground with a thick layer of marsh-like mud. We could use it either to escape or prevent anyone from fleeing, though given the amount of magic I would have to imbue into the ground I won’t be able to define the borders of its effect very well ” she explained as her eyes never left the scene of the duel, her voice a dull neutral tone as all of her attention remained on helping Silas for now.
Ill do a short reply when I get off work tonight (or at least attempt to make it short).
Well...wrote a short novel of a reply where not too much happened since there seemed to be alot in motion at the moment. Swear it didn't seem that long when I was typing it
Sonya

Sonya returned the nod to Odessa, though the mask may have have prevented her face from showing emotion, her body visibly relaxing as the current threat was dealt with. Avoiding the sight of the Orc’s grizzly demise, Sonya returned her attention back to Silas only to catch him deliver the finishing blow to the final Orc of this wave. The sounds of battle began to settle into a brief reprieve as the other groups finished off their Orcs as well, only to be replaced by the cries of pain and mourning, interspersed with the occasional strike of steel as scattered individuals finished their own skirmishes, belaying the fact that this wave had been far more costly to the gathered militia. As Sonya let her gaze sweep across the frontlines it was apparent that many of the militia were fatigued, and the lack of energy was allowing their morale to seep away and plant a seed of despair.

’Even with our numbers, if the Orc’s charged with all their remaining forces I don’t think enough have the nerve to hold, knowing what might await them’ Sonya thought grimly as she let her eyes drift to the fallen on the field of battle, none of the deaths having come easy or painlessly. As Odessa and Sonya regrouped around Silas, his words indicated that he no doubt understood the situation even better that Sonya did from his previous experience. “Ladies go help those who need it. I need to find a way to end this battle...".
“I will try to help all that I can, hopefully there will be enough time before the next clash” Sonya replied, though she had a few questions for Silas, if he was to think of a plan to bring this battle to a close he did not need to be distracted. Turning to Odessa instead she suggested ”We should try to find the wounded before they bleed out of their injuries become more severe”

Weaving amongst the different groups, Sonya found various wounds across the different militia members, some far more threatening than others. Though she did not wish to pass over anyone’s injuries, she was forced to help those who were the most wounded first. Back at the front-lines, Sonya could hear various shouting from the Orcs side of the field, yet there was no deafening charge of the approaching horde so perhaps there was a different development on the field Sonya briefly wondered before forcing the thought away, there was more important things she needed to focus on.

Reaching into her supplies, she removed two strange bottles filled with a greenish liquid. Glancing at Odessa she handed one to her as she explained it purpose ”It’s a rather basic healing salve, mostly herbal in nature, but one of the ingredients reacts strongly to magical energy. It won’t regrow limbs or reconstruct broken bones, but it should stop any bleeding and accelerate the skin growth over the wounds. You just need to apply enough to barely cover the wounded area and imbue the liquid with your magic to start the process.” Sonya explained as they continued to weave through the crowd before admitting with a hint of nervousness ”..Although I’ve only ever tried it with my water magic, hopefully the arcane magic works just as well

Opening the other vial of the salve, Sonya caught a young man with a large gaping wound to their leg, though the limb was still attached the amount of blood that was spilling forth and pooling to the earth below was not a healthy sight, as the man’s ashen face attested. Moving over to the man’s location she nodded to one of his comrades that was helping him stand up ”I’ve been sent to offer aid to those that need it, could you place him on his side so I may treat the wound?” Sonya asked, her voice carrying enough to concern to ward off any questions. With the full extent of wound then revealed, Sonya gave a grimace behind her mask. The flesh and artery had been cleaved which explained the copious blood flowing from the wound. Quickly taking some of the salve, Sonya gently rubbed it across the length of the wound, the salve creating a sticky thin film-like layer just above the surface of the skin and blood.

Next, Sonya placed her hand just above the wound and channelled her energy into the substance, the salve beginning to grow a luminescent green that was faintly noticeable even in the direct light of the midday sun. Sonya continued to pour her energy into the salve until a critical point was reached, the salve giving a quick glow before its edges began to meld with the flesh alongside the wound. Removing her hand, Sonya quickly looked over the area, the salve having solidified and made an artificial skin for the moment and preventing any more blood loss. Additionally at its edges the salve still glowed green as its energies encouraged the skin to regrow at a visible, though still slow rate. Giving a soft sigh, Sonya smiled beneath the mask, the wound would be closed within the hour rather than what would have no doubt taken days. Looking to the patient’s face, though still pale from the blood loss, it was no longer troubled and almost had a look of relief.

”You wound should be fine for the moment. Though you can move it, be careful of anything strenuous as it might re-open the wound once more” Sonya cautioned as she looked to his comrade that had been watching the process and requested ”Would you be able to send anyone else who needs aid this way or inform me if there’s those who can’t be moved? Having a common location will be more effect than random wanderings

Over the new few minutes, as the circles for the duel formed and the two champions prepared for combat, Sonya continued to treat those that were brought to her position. Looking at the two combatants and noticing Silas in the ring against the Orc, she could not help but shake a feeling of doubt of whether Silas could really do this. Even though she had witnessed his skills in battle, this Orc Chieftan seemed a league above what they had faced already. Turning to Odessa Sonya asked ”Odessa, would you be able to handle the wounded for now? I know Silas is skilled but, I can not bring myself to simply watch as he fights for his life. The Orc’s from earlier never realised what was happening with my magic, so they won’t suspect any interference as long as I keep it subtle”. Though she had asked, there was a strong determination in her voice as she was rather set on helping out Silas.

As the two combatants began to circle each-other, an ominous breeze began to pick up across the battlefield, brushing past the fallen and living alike. Unlike before which has been a slight gust of air, this was a stronger almost natural breeze that followed from east to west, Sonya pouring more magic into this casting to prevent any suspicion if the event was to localized. Additionally, while her position at the pack, while it was difficult to see everything happening in the arena, Sonya had other methods she could rely upon. Each time the wind rushed over an object, Sonya could feel the way the wind had to flow around and across the surface of each blockage in its path. This ‘sensory feedback’ allowed her to get an approximate position of both the combatants and their current actions, but would once again be more taxing on her.

Having to maintain her full concentration on this more powerful spell, as Drusilla delivered the note she was forced to let Odessa receive it. Despite the focus that was required, she was curious of its contents and could not help but ask “What does the letter say?”
Ill try to get a quick post in tonight, wont be home till after 10pm though so no promises.

Kali did her best to ignoring the rumbling and cracking of stone’s that echoed throughout the stone chamber behind her, the stone-work of the structure holding strong despite the intense battle that was raging. As she reached the bow, Kali could not help but marvel at its beauty for a moment. Though she had been able to gaze at it from a distance, up close the divinity of the craft was all too clear. The glowing string of the bow almost seemed to sing in approval as her hand reached out for the instrument, as though its vibrations held the final song of a long forgotten figure.

As her hand touched it, Kali felt a natural understanding of this weapon as a warm presences seemed to flow from the weapon, teaching her all that she would need to use the weapon. As the chamber was rocked from another impact, Kali quickly turned her attention back to the unfolding battle. Raising the weapon, she pulled back on the string as the singing voice of the string seemed to grow in pitch as the tension built. As her aim settled on the golem and the magical arrow formed, Kali released the arrow, its trail marked by a burst of pixie dust as the string erupted in a soft sound of delight as the tension of the string was released.

Though the magical arrow was not enough to slay the beast in one shot, it was more than enough to damage it and draw its anger. Already nocking another arrow, Kali was prepared to release her second shot before she realised Cecilia had moved in front of the golem once more. Kali surprise was evident as she watched the creature fall to the ground, whatever magic animated it no longer seemed to be held in place now that its form was ruptured. Kali’s look of surprise must not have phased Cecilia as she returned to an almost casual mood.

”Julia’s Cord..” Kali spoke softly, as Cecilia explained the nature of the weapon, wondering if perhaps the sound of the string was perhaps the only remaining record of the goddess’s voice. Kali was almost tempted to quiz Cecilia to learn more about this other forgotten Goddess, but thought better of it. She could not imagine that such a line of conversation could be a pleasing topic and with the soft smile that Cecilia had she could not bring herself to potentially spoil the mood ”Some fresh air sounds lovely, all this dust can’t be good for us” she replied, referring to the sizable dust cloud that had been summoned from the fight with the golem

Back outside of the ruins, the two of them sat down on the ground, the fire from before hand burnt away all of its wood and now lay dormant while the sun had rising above the peaks and now spread its rays across this entire area. It seemed that the effects Cecilia had gifted her with earlier were still in place as Kali could not only notice details she had missed before but found the weather to be rather, comfortable, despite knowing the sun was burning quite strongly today. These stray thoughts and ponders were brought to a halt as Cecilia broke the silence that had come over while they had rested.

Turning to face Cecilia as she spoke, she watched as the goddess raised her head and the two held each other’s gaze. Kali listened intently as Cecilia explained the relic that she was thinking about searching for. Once more, the usual look of uncertainty settled of Cecilia’s expression, her face covered with troubles that seemed so odd to see on a divine face such as hers. It was clear to Kali that the relic was of some interest to Cecilia but at the same time, perhaps the implications of having need for such a relic was a troubling concept. Indeed, a relic like that would only be needed if one was forgotten, and if one was entirely forgotten would they really wish to roam the earth. Regardless of that line of thought, Kali reached out and touch Cecilia’s hand in reassurance ”Even if you are uncertain if you would need such a relic, we could always begin our search for it while you reach your decision. But for what it is worth Cecilia, I can promise you that I will never forget you or let the memories of you be claimed by the passage of time once more.” Kali stated firmly, though she suspected that in Cecilia’s time she had no doubt heard similar pledges from her followers, Kali words held all of her conviction. If Cecilia determined this relic was what she needed, Kali would help her find it, and if she was uncertain Kali would happily stay by her side until she was decided.

The wind pressed against the Orc’s body, Sonya slowing the wounded beast allowing Silas to swiftly put an end to its existence. It’s body hung there limply, held aloft by the currents of air before Sonya refocused her efforts elsewhere, the monster’s lifeless form crumpling to the dirt where it would join the rest of the fallen. Though only the bodies of the enemy that lay around her feet, Sonya knew that it was not only the Orc’s that had fallen thus far. In the chorus of battle, amidst the sounds of clashing steel and metal, the cries of pain and death from both Orc and Human throats had sounded. But as much as she wished to aid the rest of her allies, she had to maintain her focus on her current charges, Silas and Odessa. Only once the beasts attacking them had been felled could she risk turning her attention to the other fronts.

Of the two remaining Opponents, there stood the one with the Greataxe facing off against Odessa while Silas stood against the sword and shield wielding orc. Glancing between the two, Sonya tried to decide which one to focus her efforts on ’The one with the sword and shield could easily adopt a defensive style if the situation calls for it. The Greataxe on the other hand doesn’t have that luxury, and if I can help Odessa slay it quickly, we can finish off the final Orc quickly’ Sonya concluded. Turning to where the Greataxe Orc was she focused her energies, while still keeping Silas in the corner of her vision incase his situation turned grim

Odessa’s was already frustrating the Orc, her nimble movements allowed her to graceful weave around the deadly swings for the creature. Each time it missed, only slicing the air or scarring the earth with its swings, the Orc seemed to grow even angrier as it increased the ferocity of its strikes. Taking a moment to study its movements Sonya began to channel the frost energies around her right hand, needing to have the magic ready to act the moment she saw the action she was looking for from the Orc. Sonya’s eyes traced each of the Orc’s swings as Odessa continued to shift around each of its strikes, until finally it appeared to bring the Axe in a large overhead motion once more. ’That’s it! Sonya thought as she raised her right hand, the swirling vortex of frost giving a physical presence to the spell she had prepared as she waited for the Orc’s strike to finish. The Orc’s swing was fast and powerful, the full brunt of its strength brought to bear in this rageful strike, but which such a telegraphed motion Odessa was already moving to dodge it, the axe brushing past her form as it carried on in its path.

Violently impacting with the ground, the head of the great axe cleaved deep into the earth as its bladed edge carved aside the dirt and stone without effort. Grunting, the Orc began to yank at the hilt of the weapon, preparing to pull it from the ground so it could continue its assault. But before it could free its weapon from the confines of the earth, the ray of frost erupted from Sonya’s hand and splashed against the impact site and carried up the Orc’s arm. Ice rapidly formed around the impacted points, sealing the weapon into the ground and binding the Orc’s hands to the grip as the frost took hold. Enraged, the Orc pulled harder, its strength challenging the might of Sonya’s spell. And as small cracks appeared in the icy prison it appeared its strength would win out given enough time, but in the heat of battle there was scarcely anytime to spare. ”Odessa, strike him before he can recover!” Sonya urged to her companion, wanting to put this creature down as quickly as possible.
