There was a time when humans with the mighty ability of intelligence were divided from “lesser” species, sure to expand and justify the unlikely chance of simply sprouting into existence, but that time is near remote and dusted past. In the end, it was impossible to measure the threats of human potential, the risk of war, governmental corruption or social collapse became distant dreams of a yesterday…a day without a tomorrow, for memories were no longer a fortune so easily acquired.
The event of that particular day lies somewhere between “now” and “then.”
Humans, as a whole, were evidently lost of direction and memory, collected as a systemic failure of cognitive progression locked in a quantum-isolated state of metaphysical presence. The intensities of intelligence, emotion, and the conflict between them wiped the memories of all, leaving only vague imprint representations to maintain a steady sense of survival.
As each man, woman and child sleep, instantaneously so, the memory of that day seemingly “vanishes” from the mind. Chaos roamed the world for years before the revisited praise of technological achievement settled them in a semi-stable state: bit by bit, people clung to their memories in any method of data storage. Some even denied sleep for days, weeks, driven by desperation to maintain a sense of consistency, identity, in their lives….
But bit by bit, week by week, the sum of the collective attempts to cling to memories were opposed by an unknown force, increasing the difficulty a thousand fold. Harder some fought, quicker they lost themselves.
Is there an escape from the Dystopian loop of cognitive malfunction?

Ok, so this is my first RP and I am super excited for it. I see this setting in the distant future, probably in the 3000’s, with the actual removal of memories and cognitive growth several hundreds of years before the current date. Most of the worlds technologies are reduced to relic states, compressed to limited functionality, and most would not even remotely remember how to use them anyway.
As it is said, there is a quantum isolation lock on cognitive progression, in which memories are “wiped” in the early stages of sleep. However, memories are not actually lost, the brain is a remarkable host of untold potential, but it is in the human ability to recollect them orderly that hinders the cognitive process of continuity. Patches of information will shimmer “here” and “there” as the day progresses, while some information remains as to enable humans to survive in the world (hunting, farming, language and understanding what is poison and what isn’t). It is in fact the less physically important (but most valued) aspects that are near impossible to retain in an orderly fashion: the psychosocial stability we crave. It is in this intense mental struggle and substance that the Voices weave and feast on, but perhaps there is a much larger purpose for it.
It is not impossible for people to record information as they go, but the more one struggles to understand or retain memories the more difficult it becomes to do so. I will clarify now that there IS a loophole to this quantum lock, and there is, as implied, a rooted cause for all of it.
Given the nature of the setting is relatively post-apocalyptic, I do not expect to see much fantasy in this game (as far as character race is concerned) but meta-physical convolution is definitely ok!
I would like some suggestions for an overall plot progression and/or any really nifty ideas that could be interesting for this kind of setting. I will revise as I go about.
Some updated information for the RP below!!
Several NPC’s will exist and are as follows:
Walkers:
The duties of preservation lie in the Walkers, technologically inclined extraterrestrials systematically rooted across the world. As far as anyone knows, Walkers are seemingly incapable of speech, and might possibly operate under a hive-mind system. A Walker’s obligation is not to preserve the Human condition on Earth, that is strictly against their nature, but to ensure that any oddities found in Humans are quickly captured (for dissection and the like). Each is capable of “measuring” the memory content in an observed creature, human or not, and if one possesses more “presence” than desired, they are deemed an oddity (then captured).
Voices:
Extremely rare entities that operate the weaves of quantum imprints in Galaxy. While aliens are an accepted reality by recorded detail, Humans do not possess any intelligence on the Voices. Additional information will be provided as the story continues.
Sleepers:
Alien creatures that mimic physical characteristics, sounds, and behavioral patterns of normal animal life on Earth. Sleepers produce an intoxicating gas that will induce sleep on those that are introduced to it.
Playable classes:
Humans are the main focus in this RP. It is in their horrible situation that the birth of new order grows, the paradigmatic values of quantum-isolated states in cognitive progression serve as excellent fuel for the Voices and whomever they serve. However, humans are very adaptive creatures that pose the greatest threat not only to themselves, but to their oppressors. Some humans have even evolved in mechanics (not to be confused with Machines), such as bodily instincts, as well as in potential intelligence and metaphysical inclinations.
Senates are very special humans that are distinguished by their quantum presences. Unlike the typical human, they are mentally and biologically modified by the Walkers, enabling them to operate a systematic routine each day under the functions of the New World Order. They are the medium in which humans can, if desired, interact with the unseen Monarchy.
Machines are a class of humans that merged with relic technologies (human technology, that is). Although they also suffer from the memory wipe as the typical human does, they differ in the fact that parts of their brains (the technological part) are able to retain an order of operations and store previously understood data. This enables them a pseudo-memory (they still lose their memories but are more inclined to relearn the facts of the situation by a directed means). Machines are extremely rare to see in public as they are considered the ultimate Oddities by the Walkers, therefore wanted and attacked with prejudice on sight.
