is everyone ignoring sirensongs post?

Hehe, yeah, but it's no biggie. On the upside, I'm rather enjoying the flow of the posts and the battle. :)
Naomi barely flinched as the metal shards whizzed by her. Her main objective was to get a single six year-old girl to safety. In the midst of the chaos, the child had been separated from her mother, and she'd spent the last five minutes being carried around by a total stranger while the two searched frantically for her parent. "Carly? CARLY!?!?" a woman yelled. Hearing the cry, the little girl responded by yelling out. It was her mother.

Bast continued to follow the voice until she found a woman just around the next street corner, standing in the middle of a rushing crowd. She quickly approached and exchanged hands with the little one's parent, taking note of the tears welling up in the woman's eyes. "Oh, my baby! My baby. Thank you so much, Catwoman. You're not the villain that my niece in Gotham says you are, after all." Bast hanged her head. "Sure thing. Anytime." With that, the mother and daughter fled. Naomi couldn't necessarily say that she was surprised at the assumption, even though she was nowhere near Grandma Kyle's age nor skin tone, but, then again, that child's mother had probably never laid eyes on the infamous anti-heroine in her entire life.

Back on the scene of the battle, Bast skillfully dodged blast after blast that the super-villain threw at her. She'd spent the last couple of days and nights thoroughly going over villain dossiers. The digital library at the HQ was quite extensive, providing her all the info she'd ever need to plan ahead for missions. For example, for this mission in particular, Naomi had left behind her metal gauntlets and boots and instead replaced them with reinforced leather. She also called in a favor from Gotham and acquired a whip from Selina, which would prove quite effective for this battle.

Just as Bast began to close in on Shrapnel, he let off another blast. This one couldn't be evaded. She was in trouble. Luckily for her, she wasn't alone. The gigantic half-beast, Fenrir, had put himself in harm's way, taking all of the heat for Naomi. Wide-eyed, she placed a gentle hand against the were-'s back. "You alright?" she asked. Without saying a word, Fenrir charged forth. "Hm. Gotta love his enthusiasm."

Bast quickly matched Fenrir's speed, charging Shrapnel alongside him. She brought her whip forth and, when she was close enough, struck. The ten-foot villain had been in the middle of readying another blast when the leather slithered and coiled around his ankles, causing him to trip up and fall backwards. Her small part was done. She would whisper in Fenrir's ear before leaving his side. Like Selina, her voice was sultry, her words almost flirtatious. "He's all yours, wolfy. Tear him apart." Naomi's lips curved into a smirk as she fell back, letting Fenrir speed ahead. "Let's see how well he can defend himself on his back."
Posted! :D
While making progress down the main hall of the HQ, following the racket she'd heard earlier, Naomi's footsteps suddenly came to a halt when said racket suddenly ceased. She'd been standing only a few feet away from the elevator before its doors opened to reveal a group of worn costumed teens. The nineteen year-old rolled her eyes and scoffed in disappointment. Just as expected, she was late to the party. By the looks of things, the group had gone through a rather intense training session,... one that didn't go all too well for them.

"So, this is the team eh?" the nineteen year-old thought to herself. With a slight turn of her head, she'd look over to the also present Dinah, or Black Canary as most called her. "Well, this is certainly a charming bunch, Auntie Dinah," she'd say with a smirk, a sarcastic undertone accompanying her words. Canary would return the smirk with a small chuckle. "Give it some time, Naomi. I'm sure you'll all be getting along just fine." Canary would then go on to introduce her recruit. "Everyone, this is Naomi Wright, codename Bast, originally mentored by Selina Kyle, whom you all may know as Catwoman. She's one of the newer additions to your team, along with Fenrir here." Dinah placed a firm pat on the werewolf's shoulder.

Naomi quirked a brow at the hulking half-beast. Dinah hadn't bothered once to mention him. It would have certainly been nice considering...

The teen felt a considerable increase in weight on her right side. Luna, now awake from her catnap, had apparently crept up behind Naomi and perched herself atop her owner's shoulder. Immediately, the feline directed its attention toward Fenrir, hissing as the hairs on her back stood straight up. Naomi was almost driven to let out a curse word, but instead kept it to herself. She tried to caress the top of the Luna's head in an attempt to soothe the distressed ball of fur's nerves. It was of no use. Luna was obviously on the defensive. Naomi would take a few steps back, directing her attention towards Fenrir as well, waiting to see how he'd react. The teen was without proper battle attire, but, if the massive canine came lunging at her pet, she'd have to defend herself the very best way she could.

Two Days Ago...

At the Justice League's Watchtower orbitting the planet, an all too familiar face teleported into the HQ of the world's greatest heroes. An older Dinah Queen, former wife of the deceased Green Arrow, stepped out of the teleporter deck meeting with the now cape-less Superman.
"It's good to see you again, Canary..." Superman began to say before the blonde who'd developed some gray steaks in her hair cut to the chase.

"Let's get to the reason you asked me here, Clark. I already told you, I'm not cut out for the League. My body isn't what it used to be in the field and after what happened to Ollie..." Dinah said trying to hold in her emotions, "Besides, Catwoman talked me into helping a young girl I've got to meet for an appointment back in Gotham. I hear Batman's latest two proteges joined some sort of junior League..?" the older heroine began to ask before noticing the look on Superman's face and knowing exactly where he was going with this...

Present Day...

Black Canary arrived at the HQ. Trailing behind her was a young lady with long brown hair and brown skin, her pupil and sponsored heroine. "Make yourself at home, Naomi," said Canary, "I've got a few things to attend to." With that, Canary stopped to have a word with Flash, pointing Naomi in the direction of her sleeping quarters.

Naomi waved the graying Dinah off as she parted ways with her mentor and sponsor, heading off to her own personal quarters. She had a small slip of paper in hand with her room number on it. When she came to a long corridor, she made her way down to the very end of the hall. "This is it, last room on the right," she remarked, "Guess this is home." She reached down into her pocket and retrieved a keycard. Swiping it across the electrical reader just above the door's handle, Naomi heard the door unlock.

Once inside of the room, Naomi set her eyes on just what she had to look forward to during her stay at the League's headquarters. She scanned the room from left-to-right, top-to-bottom. It wasn't anything like she'd expected. This looked like something out of a teenager's worst nightmare. It was horribly bland and generic. The walls were made of steel, the floors of concrete, there was a single twin-sized bed off in the corner adorned with tacky white sheets and a cheap wool blanket. "Kill me now," she'd joke to herself, trying to find some humor in all of this.

Naomi dropped her duffel bag onto the concrete floor, unzipping it as she began to unpack. To her surprise, one little piece of luggage had decided to unpack itself. Naomi's pet kitten, Luna, had somehow managed to stow itself away unnoticed. "Well, aren't you the sneaky ball of fur," Naomi would say in the midst of laughing, "I thought I told you to stay in Gotham with Selina?" As if nothing had been said at all, the feline jumped onto the twin-sized mattress, stretched its paws out after a long and couped up trip, and made itself at home.

After successfully unpacking, Naomi turned to leave, but then something caught her ear, some sort of racket coming from inside of the building. It was a sound all too familiar, the muffled sound of battle. The nineteen year-old circled the room, finding a vent in its corner. She dropped to her knees and pressed her ear against it. Wherever the noise was from from, it was from down below, and close enough for her to hear through the ventilation system. Maybe a floor or so down. "Sounds like a party," Naomi commented with a grin about her face. "You think we should go and crash it, Luna?" She looked to her pet cat, who let off a single 'meow' before rolling off on its side and facing the wall, falling asleep. Naomi quirked a single brow and then continued on. "Right, then. Maybe I'll just go and see the action for myself."
I'll go ahead and make an intro post after the training room scene, unless KL would rather have me introduce my character now.

Why are we still talking about the flag/cape thing? I think this topic need to be put to rest.

Agreed!

That was... harsh.

I'd just realized that after writing it, but it was the best way that I could explain it. If any feelings were hurt by my commentary, I sincerely apologize.

so a patriotic superhero is offensive now? so if i wear a shirt with the American flag on it i am being offensive?

There's nothing wrong with a superhero being patriotic. Captain America, for example, is patriotic. And though he does wear the American colors proudly, he isn't going around with the American flag hanging from his back. The cape itself is tacky. The fact that Patriot in his entirety comes across as this cookie-cutter superhero, paired with the cape, could come off as offensive. He's more like a Saturday Night Live parody of the American superhero than the real deal.
Sure! :)
