Welcome to Hell

At the moment 7,000 marines are stepping off to attack the islands of Tulagi, Gavutu, and Tanambogo. While 11,000 marines prepare to land in Guadalcanal. In the air hundreds of fighters are pitted against each other in a heart racing battle, as fast paced as the propellers driving them. Above the smoky islands dive bombers hunt their prey. A mile from the shores ships bombard the encamped Japanese.
This is but a small part of this Great War, sons sent away to never be seen again, a great adventure to the shit holes of the world. But that is what you signed up for isn't it?

Mother,
Hopefully this letter gets to you. My unit, the 1st Battalion 1st Marines, along with many other units are stepping off to an unknown location. I am worried this will be my first combat and I am afraid. I guess we all are, some just pretend they aren't. Well I hope life at home is okay,
Your Son, Adam Thompson

Before Dawn, August 7th, 1942

7,000 marines step off to attack the islands of Tulagi, Gavutu, and Tanambogo. While 11,000 marines prepare to land in Guadalcanal.

These men are a part of the First Marine Division, many will die, but they will secure the islands.
In the air, carrier based F6F Hellcats, and F4F Wildcats fight with Japanese A6M Zeros, machine pitted against machine. Large formations of SBD dauntless dive bombers relentlessly bomb the islands, and from the sea the same ships that transported the marines here are shelling the shoreline.
These men might be in different positions but they all share the same goal, make the Japs pay. Remember Pearl Harbor....

You are one of the brave, one of the invasion force, one man of many ready to strike for your country, be it on land, the ocean, or in the sky, Welcome To Hell. Your task to survive, to secure victory for your country, and to prove your self.
The RP will be a dynamic campaign, attempting to follow history. I am Looking for a large group who would be interested.
Boring Rules, Plans, and set up
Once you die you can remake a character and come back as a replacement.
Use logic please, you're not Rambo.
I (the GM) will be playing as other men, and the enemy.
If this goes ok. And the playerbase is still interested, we can do more campaigns.

Hopefully we can get this back up and running
