Name: Juliette Rosewood Age: 18 Gender: Female Personality: Juliette is unabashedly herself, genuine to the point that others can get secondhand embarrassment from simply watching her antics. Especially her doomed-at-the-start romantic endeavors, like the time she performed an hour-long musical show to profess her love to a local knight commander. In her defense, she got mostly wonderful reviews, just not from the object of her affections. Suffice it to say, Juliette is a hopeless and hapless romantic. She's the type that falls quickly and deeply for the wrong person—she's 5 for 5 there—hence the haplessness of it all. That said, she knows what she wants and goes for it wholeheartedly. Once she sets a goal or makes a promise, it's as good as guaranteed. She is as passionate and determined as they come, and she always, always follows through. Her zeal is a double-edged sword, however. Juliette can come across as self-absorbed in her singular pursuit of her whims, and needs frequent reminders to look beyond herself and at the bigger picture. She tends to get swept up in the moment as well, and that often does not bode well for anyone involved. Her level of idiocy is difficult to gauge. Bereft of a formal education, there are noticeable gaps in her knowledge, and she has a habit of following gut over brain. But while Juliette's way of thinking may not be the most sophisticated, she makes it up with an inherent understanding of the vast empire, which she has twice explored from coast to coast. Her candor, meanwhile, is at once refreshing and devastating. Juliette is as transparent as a crystal, heart on sleeves and everything. She can always be relied upon to be honest, but there are truths that hurt and she doesn't hold back on them. Still, if one can look past her brutal honesty and well-nigh boundless enthusiasm, she is actually quite personable. Role/Title: (Magical!) Acrobatic Performer. Juliette is a part of Caradia's most renowned traveling performance troupe, where her acrobatic stunts and theatrical flourishes, infused with just the slightest hint of magic, have become a crowd favorite. History: Juliette was born into a big family and an increasingly meager household. With a grand total of twelve children, of which she was the youngest, it became difficult for her already negligent parents to properly care for their ever-growing brood. They had straddled the fine line between barely scraping by and going days without food for years, their source of income as unpredictable as the changing winds, until they finally tipped over onto the side of starvation. Her parents hit their all-time low just as she turned three, and by then, they had been past the point of desperation. Even with the support of her older siblings, who were forced to do odd jobs for the barest income, it was never enough. Her parents had to cut their losses, and that meant ridding themselves of what drained their resources the most: in this case, Juliette herself. Desperate times call for desperate measure, as they say. Whether by fate or sheer luck, Talberon's Traveling Theater Troupe! happened to pass through their small town that day. Her parents thanked the Goddesses for their blessing, for they would find no better procurer for their daughter than Talberon himself. The ostentatious man had an eye for aspiring talent and young Juliette, already swinging on trees and scaling walls thrice her size, was ripe for the picking. He paid a lofty sum for the three-year-old, and despite the vehement objections of her siblings, her parents gladly accepted the trade. Juliette grew up with the troupe, raised by a motley band of performers that quickly became her family. She trained under the best acrobats and dancers, who shared with her not only the tricks of the trade, but their zest for life as well. Juliette became a hit once she mastered her craft, and her inherent magical abilities gave her performances the crowd-pleasing flourish it needed. There was never a dull day with her troupe, and they traveled the whole of the empire, moving from town to town in a span of weeks, putting on daily performances. Her history of failed romantic intrigues began when she was fourteen years old and she fell for a nobleman's son. He wooed her with his reckless abandon and rebellious ways, but alas, their time together was short-lived. Just as Juliette thought he was the one and they would be together forever, his parents whisked him away to a reform academy and she never saw him again. Her next 'the one' wasn't it either, and neither were the next two (including that knight commander who broke her heart in public, which she might have set herself up for with that public confession and all). The last one hit her the hardest. She accidentally found 'the one' number five in her best friend and fellow trouper, even after spending the last ten years trying not to pine over him. With her less than impressive luck in such matters, she knew how it would end and the last thing she wanted was a strained relationship her most cherished friend. The Emperor's expedition was a chance to go off on her own adventure, and more importantly, to preempt yet another heartbreak. It was a win-win, really; she would be killing two birds with a stone, and maybe get a third if she happened to find the one, the real one, along the way. Besides, Juliette was certain her skillset would be beneficial to the Emperor. Helping out a village in need was nobler than anything she'd ever done, and she probably needed the good karma. Anything extra: - Juliette's brand of magic allows her to focus bursts of energy into certain parts of her body as a means of amplification. She alternately uses it on her hands and feet, for boosts in strength or speed. As an added bonus, whatever body part she targets becomes enclosed in a soft pink glow for the duration of her enchantment. This results in a pretty spectacular light show that has become her trademark move; the crowd eats it up every time. - She is terrible with names. Expect a nickname.
Just to quickly digress: Sana, is there anything else I need to change/clarify for Juliette to be accepted? :)
Good lord, you guys explained it better than I could have! Thanks~ <3 But yes. I didn't imagine for Juliette to have some unlimited surplus she can draw from at will. Boosts or no, she gets tired like every other person and her energy depletes at a normal rate. I think "magical adrenaline" hits it on the nose; she does it in bursts because it gets taxing and prolonged use can have damaging effects on her body. That's where precision and timing becomes important, like Zurnt mentioned. She uses her magic sparingly and in conjunction with her skills as an acrobat to make the most of it. Haa, sorry I couldn't be as scientifically eloquent as Rex. X3 Edit: @rextremendum, I have a feeling that when Thomas talks science-y to Juli, everything will just go over her head and she'll come out of it with a headache. I wonder if he would get frustrated at her complete ignorance over the nature of her magic.
That's perfect for her, because she has no idea how it works and she'll probably benefit a lot from his research. ;p
Ahh, I don't know where I should post the CS for review so I'll just do it here! I took a more lighthearted approach since the others seemed to have such troubled pasts. Hopefully that's alright! Juliette probably has the most superficial motive in assisting the emperor.
Hi! :) I know you've started, but is this still open?
Mornings were her favorite part of the day. When the sky was awake, everything else seemed to liven up. The birds would be singing their lovely song, the sun shining and radiating warmth. Breakfast had some of the best food, too. Like chocolate waffles or bread with Nutella spread or yummy hot chocolate with whipped cream… and what was she thinking about again? Oh, right. Mornings. Usually, she would be up at 6AM on the dot, but she got a tiny bit overexcited about going back to school. She couldn't fall asleep until it was well past 4.

Anna tossed and turned in her bed, her lips quirked in a small smile as she dreamed of the perfect way to start the year. If she played her cards right, Elsa would be surrounded by a whole lot of new friends by the end of the day! She was vaguely aware of a disembodied voice, distant but somehow still loud, urging her to wake. It sounded oddly like her mother, but why would she be in school? That was weird. Her mother's voice followed her and Elsa as they went through their perfect first day, getting louder and louder until she couldn't take it anymore.

"I'm awake!" She found herself responding as she slowly sat up, but remained unsuccessful in fighting off the vestiges of sleep that made her eyelids heavy. Anna lasted all of a second, just long enough to brush away the strand of hair that somehow went inside her mouth, before she slipped back into unconsciousness. "Just a few more minutes," she mumbled, but there was yelling again and boy, her mother's voice was very persistent.

"Anna, you don't want to be late on your first day back, do you?"

First day? That's right… it's the first day back!

Anna jolted upright, completely awake then, and scrambled off her bed in a hurry. The clock on her desk flashed 7:03, and above it, hanging on the wall, was a calendar with today's date highlighted and circled and crossed. A sense of giddiness filled her at once and she danced and sang her way to the bathroom. She moved quickly and finished getting ready within minutes. By the time Elsa called for her, doing what she liked to think was their super-secret knock, she was already dressed and has just finished styling her hair up in a messy bun. "Be there in a sec!" Her thoughts drifted back to her pleasant dream, to Elsa smiling happily as she talked to all her new friends, and it amped her up even more.

She left her room in a rush, eager to get her plans in motion, but had to race back inside a second later to grab her backpack, lying forgotten on the floor. Her notebooks had spilled out, and her pencils and pens were strewn everywhere. "I probably need those," she mumbled to herself, giggling at her silly blunder as she hurriedly packed up everything. Once she was ready, she slipped her arms through the straps and made her way back outside. Olaf was waiting for her by the stairs, and she bent over to give the white fluffball of cute a hug goodbye. "One warm hug a day keeps the cold away," she told him, and she smiled as he nodded his head, as though he understood exactly what she said.

To her surprise, her French toast had already been slathered in Nutella, sandwich style, and ready to go by the time she got to the dining room. Her mother was on her seat, sipping coffee, brows creased in worry as she gazed out the window. She gave Anna a small smile when she noticed her presence, and beckoned her over. Anna knew what she would say next. Every day, without fail, she would tell her this. Her mother gave her a quick peck on the forehead and handed over her breakfast, then: "Watch over your sister."

Anna jumped in the passenger seat with a sheepish grin and pressed her palms together. "Sorry about the Else," she said, slightly winded from running all the way to the car. "I got so excited last night that I couldn't sleep, so naturally I woke up late, because you know I need like as close to eight hours of sleep as possible."

The ride to Disney High was quick, and with Anna as a passenger, there hadn't been one moment of silence. After they arrived, the redhead hooked her arm around her older sister's and beamed, pearly whites showing in an excited, ear-to-ear grin. Operation Happy Ending was a go!
Lucifer sounds like a really fun addition to the group!
Ooh, maybe Scar? I don't think he has to be a teacher. Dripping with sarcasm plus big inferiority complex might be fun to play. But Hercules would seem like a lot of fun, too.

Name:
Anna Arendelle
Nickname(s):
Feisty Pants, Spaz, Nanners (all used affectionately… most of the time)
Age:
15
Grade:
10

Personality:

Graceful and elegant, like a beautiful flower… is the total opposite of what Anna is. Clumsy with her words and actions (but enthusiastically so), Anna is a walking, talking hurricane of awkward and exuberance; a trail of laughter—or, y'know, utter confusion at her rambling—is often in her wake. She has absolutely no notion of social etiquette to boot, one of the side effects of having been sheltered as a child. As such, she doesn't quite have personal boundaries figured out yet (fair warning, she's 86% likely to invade yours) and she doesn't always react to situations in a normal way (like cracking jokes when the mood is heavy). Her infectious personality often makes up for her eccentricities, though. After all, Anna is nothing if not genuine and loving, among the rare breed of the eternal optimist. She wears her heart on her sleeves and is full of care—but not like careful, she's totally not careful; she just cares about people, especially her sister, a lot.

Anna acts without thinking things through and is pretty much a slave to her whims. Impulsive doesn't even begin to describe her. After years of overprotectiveness-induced seclusion, she has grown overeager to see the world and experience everything she missed out on—which is a lot, like a whole lot. She never had a sleepover or a birthday party with more than her family in the guest list; she hasn't even had her first kiss (no thanks to that stupid-face who pretended to like her)! If she seems clueless to you, that's because she is times a hundred. She learned her social cues from watching shows and movies, so you can bet she's misinformed about many things.

Basically, Anna is unapologetically and unreservedly herself and 'jaunty, starry-eyed firecracker' is her default state. She is made up of an eclectic mix of extremes (from overly reckless to embarrassingly impressionable) and if there's anything you can expect from her, it's that she's completely spontaneous.

Background:
Anna has fragmented memories of her childhood—anything that happened before she was ten come to her in bits that she can't quite piece together. Her mom said she had fallen from a tree then, and the resulting head trauma had affected her memory, but she has the oddest feeling that she was forgetting something very important. She wondered if those memories would explain why Elsa was slowly becoming a recluse, and no matter how much she coaxed her, she refused to leave her room. Or why her parents have become extremely strict and overprotective, to the point that they kept her and Elsa within the confines home, and forbade them to take even a step past their garden.

If she were being honest, she had to admit that she had been unfairly jealous of Elsa at one point. It wasn't difficult to realize that her parents gave her special attention, even if it was the overbearing kind. They had even scolded and punished her just for trying to get Elsa to play out in the garden (and at the time, she couldn't help but feel like some virus they didn't want Elsa catching). But as the years passed, and their confinement became more and more suffocating, she had learned to appreciate having less of their attention. At the very least, she was able to escape once every couple of months to explore the city. It was worth it, even it meant severe punishment later on.

Still, no matter how unhappy she had been locked up in her own home, Anna had a constant silver lining: Elsa. Her older sister meant the world to her, and in her eyes, she was nothing short of perfect. If her parents did favor her sister over her, she completely understood. In any case, she made the most of their situation and spent most of her time keeping her company.

When her parents finally allowed them to go back to a regular school (Elsa had been homeschooled first, then a year later, she was pulled out for no reason), Anna had been beyond excited. She was in middle school then, but she visited Elsa every day in Disney High, to make sure she was doing well. It's been three years since then, and while her sister was slowly adapting, Anna knew she still didn't feel completely comfortable in the school. She has thus taken it upon herself to do whatever it takes to make sure her sister enjoys every bit of her last year in school.

Hobbies/Facts/Orientation:
☀ Anna is a hopeless romantic, and she falls in love very easily. Now, if only she wasn't such a bad judge of character…
☀ She's a daredevil. Sky diving? Tallest roller coaster? Two days in the jungle using only your wits to survive? She's up for it.
☀ Suffice it to say, she hero worships her older sister.
