Might derail you a bit if they play true to their characters. Although Lady Greywind seems to be a damn well established power in the city.

Well part of the point of the bombshell was to see if anyone else had any ideas on how to restart the economy. Greywind does have more moderate plans in the wings, but this is her way of gauging the waters and seeing how far her fellow councilors will go to support their Pillar. I look forward to the responses.
Yay! Two more nobles.....both of them sympathizing with the low-born commoners. This is going to be fun. Wonder what they think of Greywind and her business of synthetic labor.

Especially since I just dropped a bombshell of a economic stimulus plan involving exploitation of the poor, criminals, debtors, and anyone desperate for work to volunteer. Wonder how that is going to go over, eh? Its fun playing a villainess.
[SECOND POST]

Madame Katherine Evangeline Greywind
Supporting William to be Minister of War, Proposing herself as Minister of State, proposing labor-conscription plan to jump-start Dahken's Military-Industrial Complex.

Everybody be hatin on the businesswoman of the bunch.

Haters gonna hate. Nobles gonna be noble. And don't forget, I'm the one paying the bills and getting the economy back in shape.

:P I actually enjoy being hated. Its a first for me in a RP. I look forward to how it will turn out.
[First Post]

Madame Katherine Evangeline Greywind

Action: Holding a mail-chat with Madame Vol discussing how to mutually benefit from their respective positions. First by reigniting the economy by making new jobs. (2-3 Assets)

Also paying power bills: (2 Assets)

When I stepped up to assume my seat on the Council, I hadn't realized the situation was this dire. Our militia is dangerously under-strength, and the mob is growing increasingly more outspoken by the day. And my fellow councilors are....[Illegible scribbles and rewrites and erasures]

But where there is chaos, there is opportunity. For various reasons, I rose to the council chair instead of my favorite rival in the power business. Well, no sense flaunting victory needlessly. Gloating is unprofitable in the long-run, especially since our Pillar is so terminally dependent upon Vol's energy supplies. And my labor supply as the masses dissent and flee. Let them flee, I can make replacements that are stronger, more loyal, eat less, and never question their place in this pillar. Either they match the times, or they fall behind forever.

Priorities:
1) Rebuild Dahken's economy.
2) Make sure the mob won't be causing an uprising anytime soon. Cake? (Bread + Circuses?) JOBS
3) Get on Vol's good side. I don't want distractions at this time. Getting her a council seat unlikely. For now. Must convince her regardless.
4) Profit! Plenty of labor opportunities.

Reposting chracter here.

Name: Lady Katherine Evangeline Greywind
Class: Noble
Stats: Assets( 5) Power(0) Production(5) Influence (4) Charm(2)

Class Notes: Katherine controls Dahken’s biosynth and genejack factories through her company Union Laborworks Complex, pre-Descent technology capable of creating obedient and loyal servants, slaves, workers, and soldiers through artificial human genetic manipulation and accelerated growth, all hard-coded loyal to her. While the morality of neo-slavery is questionable, its utility and necessity in every field of society and industry is undisputable. Raw labor is a valuable and scarce commodity in the age of the dying sun. Katherine also holds a absolute favor from a media mogul, who can manipulate public opinion how she wishes when she asks. How she came into such a absolute favor is something neither will discuss.

Character Description:

A darkly elegant noblewoman who made her name in resurrecting Dahken’s dormant genejack lab-factories through recovery of ancient technology hidden in her family’s vaults and in expeditions into the ruined surface. Where House Greywind was a dying and penniless name, it was now an essential pillar of Dahken’s industry and economy because of its production of genejacks (sub-human brute laborers) and biosynths (complex artificial human servants), which act as valuable replacements for increasingly unreliable commoner and peon labor. While many disagree with Katherine’s practices of “neo-slavery” whether on grounds of morality or jealousy of the tight control she maintains over the gene-templates and facilities, Union Laborworks is practically the sole reason Dahken’s Council has any reliable large-scale supply of labor for large-scale projects and industry despite the increasing unrest among the commoners.

While prone to bouts of hedonism and self-indulgence of her assets (gladiator slave pits and maids being her present hobbies) as consequence of wealth and power, Katherine does recognize the perilous state Dahken is in, and has joined the Ruling Council to ensure it’s rebirth will be directed in ways she may profit from.
Hopping in on this.

Very interested. What level of technology are we looking at here? Did WW3 cause serious regression, or has technology marched onwards after being fueled by a world war?

I think I'll either set myself up as a megacorp or a Neo-Russian state. Depending on which would fit this game better.
I'm afraid I need to drop out of this, just can't give it the time and focus it deserves.

////History: WIP

///Culture:
The CCC are a very liberal and open society, given their origins as a corporate-run paradise world emphasizing free market capitalism. While slightly regulated by the Grand Corporate courts, they are a extreme free market society, and their capitalistic mindset applies to every citizen on every level.

The CCC practice extensive universal genetic engineering, with every natural-born employee-citizen entitled to at least basic genetic-enhancement and treatment of genetic diseases or disorders, and degrees of government or corporation-backed subsidization of more extensive natal or retroviral treatment as part of general healthcare. While "genejack" artificial humans are commonly used for labor and grunt work. In general, its easier to administer genesplicing to individuals before puberty or even before conception, but retroviral techniques are gradually becoming more commonplace to enable adult upgrades.

General “tiers” of genetic enhancement are roughly defined as follows.

D-Class: Basic gene-modifications, consisting of mostly preventative treatments and improvement of basic health, immune systems, and prolong. While it doesn’t enhance human ability, it removes many drawbacks and biological inefficiencies. Simplicity of upgrades mean they are universally available to all corporate citizens, and easy to retrovirally
C-Type: C-types are similar to D-types, save that their upgrades include peak human or near-peak human physical abilities and cognitive upgrades, effectively beginning to upgrade the base human form instead of “fixing” it. Increasingly common as retroviral techniques are improving.
B-Types: B-type modifications are explicitly crossing the threshold of natural human ability, achieving superhuman capability in select areas. In practice, these mean that B-types are highly specialized and optimized towards a single area of expertise, and merely above base human in most other attributes genetically. B-type templates are recently being mass-produced for retroviral engineering, but the effectiveness of the various types is highly variable.
A-Type: Advanced gene-modifications aimed at creating true superior humans. Where B-types are optimized towards a single field, A-types are made to be overall superior generalists and strong across the board in human ability and intelligence, while retaining major flexibility in learning and self-optimization. However there is no viable retroviral method of creating an A-type, and they do not breed true often. Expense of the modifications mean they are limited to the corporate aristocracy and military clone-lines.
S-Type: Homo Sapiens Superior. Vastly improved intelligence, strength, reflexes, and all around physical attributes across the board while capable of excelling in as many fields as the individual cares to master in their biologically immortal lifetimes. To date, the Corporations have been unsuccessful in directly engineering a S-type, and the only two in existence (CEO Victoria Northstar and GCC Operative Gabriel) came about due to exceptional A-A parentage and dangerous experimental pre-natal procedures respectively. Development of a sustainable S-type template is high priority for the MegaCorps.

General classes of genejacks, biosynths, and sub-human species fall within the following general categories.
Tier 3: Pawns. Disposable grunt labor, slaves, servants, cannon fodder soldiers and security. Bred and manufactured en masse, spent en masse. Outlier pawns who survive harsh working conditions or show advanced skills or are lucky to be caught in a corporate expansion may be retrained and augmented for higher positions.
Tier 2: Knights, Bishops, Rooks. Specialist workers and employees, officer-class biosynths.
Tier 1: Kings and Queens. Leadership-level biosynths, entrusted with low-level CEO positions or areas of academic or scientific expertise, as well as counting a number of special-ops and strategic-level military models in their ranks.

//Military:
Each of the five megacorproations maintain their own private security and mobile space force assets, as well as contributing ships and manpower to the Grand Corporate Court.

Ark Inc. relies upon a large and well-trained gendarmerie of a security force, blurring the lines between SWAT teams and military police to become effective enforcers of Ark-habitat law and regulation. While not the best-equipped, they have numbers and extensive coordination through cyberspace "Grid" networking of all units on all levels.

Ironclad Industries heavily favors mechanized warfare, to the point where every security trooper is equipped with a basic exoskeleton and their operatives are equipped with powered armor, to the point of some heavy troopers becoming walking tanks with GOLIATH suits, while actual tanks and light mechs are liberally deployed in support. However they are suffering from troop quality issues due to recent expansion, and the majority of their new security forces have only limited training before being pressed into the field.

Keizai Warza make extensive use of vatforms, cloned biosynthetic soldiers tied to cybernetically-enhanced commanders. Obedient to a fault, and endlessly replaceable even for disposable pawns while their commanders don't have to be anywhere near the battlespace. Besides numbers, they are the only MegaCon to make use of personal energy weaponry, deploying lasers and plasma cannons in support of their troops, despite noted instability issues in their human-size plasma guns (the gun often survives overload, the human behind it rarely does).

/////Name: Fleet Admiral Katherine Lansel
////Subject: Character
///Location:
//Appearance: A striking red-haired beauty with a crisp professional bearing.
/Biography: Katherine Lansel is the commander-in-chief of the Union Navy, and is responsible for many of its modern reforms and continuing transformation from a system defense fleet into a proper interstellar navy. Despite her youth compared to legendary admirals such as Suvorov, no one questions her legitimacy as Fleet Admiral because of her ability and natural drive to push her fleet reforms through, as well as the administrative skill and patience to deal with the ECN’s historically overstretched logistics and politics.
Other: B-class transhuman, social-optimization, attractive.
Command Traits:
Strategist
Administrator

/////Name: Admiral Alexi Suvorov
////Subject: Character
///Location:
//Appearance: A weathered man with a rugged beard, frequently dresses in a black greatcoat and peaked cap ontop of his standard uniform. Notable for lacking any animal-traits.
/Biography: Admiral Suvorov is literally the oldest serving member of the Eudaimonia Foundation Fleet, being one of the earliest bred A-class transhumans, and has served for decades in the fleet as its best tactical fleet commander in his command of the 3rd Fleet, which he has honed into an elite raiding and unorthodox engagement force. Suvorov effectively acts as a ECN wildcard force, operating independently of the main fleets to strike where not expected. Despite his long service history, he defers the rank of Fleet Admiral to Katherine Lansel out of a desire to stay with his fleet, and recognition that Katherine is better at logistics and administration than him.
Other: A-class transhuman, optimized for high-intelligence, honed intuition, emotional control, and extra-sensory perception. No familiar.
Command Traits
Elite Fleet
High Initiative
Small Fleet

/////Name: Rear Admiral Ethan Wander
////Subject: Character
///Location: Eudaimonia Foundation Navy 5th Fleet
//Appearance: A tall blue-eyed teenager with messy blonde hair despite any grooming. Has lion ears and tail.
/Biography: Ethan Wander is an odd lion out among the ranks of the ECN flag officers, having risen to his rank and position as commander of the ECN 5th Fleet more through political and corporate connections than actual combat experience. This suits the purposes of Fleet Admiral Lansel, who uses Wander as a “face man” for dealing with politicians and corporate directors on the homefront, assisted by a quirk in his inherited prolong to obtain A-class longevity, rendering him biologically immortal and a model of eternal youth.
