Arno noted how easily Cayde adapted, accepting input from multiple people and directing them, as well as communicating when speech wouldn't do. Under the direction of the armored human, and with the assistance of several others, they had managed to extinguish the fire that threatened the ship. Arno glanced around the engine deck, following pipes and chambers. The fire had gotten close to the fuel tanks, and if the fuel tanks were damaged in any way in the crash... Arno blinked and rubbed his chin. The Akula was vulnerable to fire. He saw this now, as all airships were. He designed the Akula to be able to defend itself and its pilot against threats, hence the cannons, but he never considered... this. If he took damage in the flight against the large, tentacled beast, and the Akula caught aflame, how could he extinguish it? He thought for a moment, shutting engines down, and closing the fuel valves. And then pray the fire ate all of its available fuel, and hope the wind blew it out? Not good enough. He needed something more, something more definite than hopes and prayers, but what? What if his fuel tanks had been punctured, and the fire was feeding off of the exposed fuel? He shelved the thought for later, he'd likely spent hours mulling on the thoughts, and they weren't completely in the clear yet.

The Harvin brushed his mustache with his fingers then walked over to Cayde, jabbing him in the side twice to get his attention. "One of us is wounded on the top deck! Find a healer!" He said, loudly. He jogged out of the engine deck, back up the stairs and up to where Corday and his Akula was. He glanced around, seeing that she wasn't awake. Arno jogged over to her and knelt beside her, looking at her unmoving form with uncertainty. How did doctors do it? He blinked away any hesitation, her life was in danger, modesty be damned. He bent over and put his ear over her chest. A few seconds later he pulled away, having heard and felt a strong enough heartbeat, he hoped. Then he put two fingers over her nose and mouth, feeling a steady rhythm of breathing. Arno let out a sigh of relief. He looked around, if they needed to move, she might not be in any condition to move. He glanced at her, then around on the deck. He drew his short falchion sword and set it down next to her. After getting a rough estimation of her height, he grabbed the sword and jogged over to the Akula, setting the blade on the wing.

Running a quick calculation in his head, one of the wing panels would be long enough for her to lay on. He sheathed the blade and went over to the cockpit, opening a small compartment and pulling out a screwdriver. He got to work, quickly unscrewing the long panel from the wing. A few minutes passed, and he lifted the metal panel up and dropped it onto the deck. He glanced at the internals of the wing, wires, pipes, compartments, the exposed cannon internals and ammunition magazine. He smiled, that had taken a while to design and test. He hopped off the wing and dragged the panel over to Corday, laying it next to her.
@floodtalon
If you don't have enough to post on you could have Zendrith go over to the Akula and yank out one of the wing panels to use as a makeshift stretcher for Corday.
Gives your character time to look over the airship and the wing internals, if you want to do it.

Arno couldn't quite hear. At all. Things were a muffled, distant drone, but his eyes were fine. He grimaced when Corday held her side and collapsed into a coughing fit, interrupting whatever she was saying. What kind of damage did that hit even do? Arno wasn't a doctor, or a biologist, but he knew that if an airframe was crushed the internal systems inside an airship were likely damaged, especially for a compact interceptor like the Akula. Her coughing implied damage to her respiratory system, lungs? Most likely broken bones from the blunt impact. He frowned, he could formulate some ideas of her injuries, but he didn't have the skill to do anything about it. He hated it, but someone had to have medical expertise.

The Dhirom came over at his call, and she posed heroically, giving a thumbs up. Arno couldn't discern what she was saying, but her positive body language suggested that either she knew how to heal, or knew someone who did. Arno's frown lightened, and he pointed at his ears, "I can't hear! Didn't have ear protection on when I fired my cannons, no time to! Good work slowing him too, I probably wouldn't have made the shot if you didn't show up!" He shouted, "Use your hands to tell me if I'm too loud or not!" Arno explained, demonstrating with one hand, a face down palm going up or down.

The Hobgoblin dashed forward with surprising speed, Arno drew his firearm, but it dashed towards Corday. Arno hesitated, losing the his chance at a clear shot. He grimaced, the attacker was using Corday as a barrier against his line of fire. But his plan wasn't to shoot the Hobgoblin with his handgun. He slid it back into his holster and made a beeline to his Akula, climbing onto the wing with practiced ease. He glanced back at Corday, seeing her locked in deadly combat against the Hobgoblin. Arno leapt into his Akula's cockpit and cranked the weapon convergence dial as far back as he could. He glanced up from the controls in time to see Corday hit by the Hobgoblin's club. He winced and inhaled sharply. The hobgoblin pressed his advantage, closing the distance quickly. Arno glanced at his gun sights, the hobgoblin, Corday, and placed his finger on the trigger. He only had a split second to hit his mark.

Then by a stroke of luck, someone interfered. "Worry not! The hero has arrived!" A woman shouted, Arno didn't look at her, what he was looking at was the Hobgoblin slowing to look at the new arrival. Slowing, giving him more time to aim. In his peripherals he saw the woman raise something, shooting beams of blue at the Hobgoblin's ankles. Arno's heart pounded, the gun convergence on the Akula didn't zero in that close. If he fired the guns when the Hobgoblin was right in his crosshairs, both of the cannon shells would just zip right by him, bracketing him instead of hitting him. He needed to guess his cannons path of travel. Arno's left eye twitched, then he squeezed the trigger. Two deafening thwacks echoed throughout the forest, rapidly followed by the sounds of wood splintering and shattering. The shell from the right side cannon missed, punching a hole through cabin wall, flying out from the other side of the cabin, exiting the airship and going through a tree. The left side cannon shell however found it's mark. The shell impacted the Hobgoblin in the left breast, as it turned to face the newcomer, passed through him, and found the same inanimate targets as the right side cannon shell. The Hobgoblin himself was thrown aside from the impact, a massive hole in his chest. From the cockpit, Arno saw the flash of his cannons, the two, cannon shells, lit by bright green tracers zipping into the Hobgoblin and the wall behind him with lightning fast speed. He watched this with grim satisfaction.

"Ah damn!" Arno shouted, his ears ringing in pain, he brought his right hand to rub his ear. He took a second, grim satisfaction quickly going away, replaced by the regret of not putting on his ear protection. He grit his teeth, then placed his left hand on the charging handle of his cannons. He racked the guns, two loud, metallic clanks. He sighed, then stood up from his cockpit, slowly got out, then jogged over to Corday. "I don't know how to patch people up! I'm pretty sure we need to get you to a real doctor!" Arno said, loudly. He turned to the newcomer, now getting a better look at her, she was a Dhirom. He saw her horns and scales. "Hey! Get over here and help me out!" He practically shouted at her.

A horn was blown, and the remaining Goblins fell back. A retreat signal? Arno thought to himself. Maybe the people below decks were giving them more trouble than they were worth, since it was clearly that Arno and Corday were on the backfoot abovedeck. The small pilot got up and jogged to the edge of the ship, peering over the ledge to see where they were running to. It turned out they weren't retreating. They were making room for a larger goblin. The Hobgoblin, despite being below Arno, towered.
"Oh." He muttered at the revelation, then the Hobgoblin leapt from its mount. "Oh!" Arno said, he scrambled back, the Hobgoblin landing just a few feet away from him. Arno turned and ran, putting more distance between it and him. He glanced over to Corday, then at his airship. If only the Hobgoblin was... maybe 10 meters to the left.

The Hobgoblin towered over Arno, and he approached slowly, slamming his club against the deck. A way to intimidate them. And honestly it was sort of working for Arno. The small pilot side stepped over to Corday and whispered to her,
"Let's try to draw it over to the left, in front of my Akula's guns." Arno began to move to the left, towards his airship. He made no indication of his intentions, keeping himself facing towards the large Hobgoblin, doing his best not to make it react. He wanted to draw out that slow walk of his, the longer he did it, the closer Arno could get to his airship.

"Somehow... I don't think either of you are Zweite." The Erune boy concluded, "What the hell are you two doing with a stolen ship?" He asked, nearly a demand. Arno closed his eyes for a second, then looked over to Corday. She began to answer his question, explaining how the Zweite were bad, and how stealing an airship of theirs was validated because they were bad... not how Arno would have said it but she was leading the explanation. Arno turned around and looked through his cockpit, opening up a small compartment and pulling out a survival kit. It had rations, water, and a shortsword which in the hands of a Harvin, looked big. He strapped the sheath onto his back, leaving his waist for the pistol holster.

Then they heard a rustle from a bush. Arno looked over, suspicious. He noticed Corday looking as well, already at a combative stance. Arno hovered his hand over his sidearm. In the split of a second, a stone zipped over Corday's head, and she responded with an expertly thrown knife. She left to investigate, and Arno pulled his sidearm out, the large pistol looking more like a carbine in his hands. A moment later, Corday came running over, shouting about Goblins. She ran to the Erune boy and covered him, before asking if Arno could take some down with his gun.
Arno grunted, "If I was in the air with my Akula..." he muttered, "Yes, I can!" he shouted back to her. He was nowhere near as proficient with his sidearm, but he could hit a target, and that was good enough. Arno scanned the area, looking for any signs of movement, rustling leaves, disturbed branches. Then he spotted them. "There!" He pointed, "Right, three targets! Close!" he reported. The Erune boy was already on the move however, tossing small balls of ice towards the enemy. He leapt off the edge of the ship, and darted away into the woods. The three on the right side of the enemy group that threatened their flank left to chase the Erune boy. Arno clicked his tongue in annoyance, he recognized some of these tactics as older infantry tactics. The flanks were the most mobile, the 'cavalry', and they would skirmish and chase down targets, and flank when the opportunity came.

He leapt off his airship and darted towards the edge of the crashed vessel, he leaned over, seeing some goblins still in the open. He had elevation on them. He brought his sidearm to bear and fired off a shot, smacking a somewhat confused goblin in the chest, throwing it back onto the floor. The gunshot made the rest of the goblins look up at him. Arno quickly fired twice more, not bothering to check if the two other rounds found their mark. He took a step back, extending the bayonet on the end of his pistol, then flicked the breach open. He hastily took the spent cartridges out and put in new ones, just in time for several goblins to climb up onto the ledge. He fired at the first goblin to poke his head out, but the second wasn't far behind. The goblin tackled Arno to the deck, eliciting a grunt from the small Harvin pilot. The attacker brought down a small club, swinging it at Arno's head. He narrowly dodged it, the club smacking the wooden deck instead. Arno Brought his knee up and placed it on the chest of the goblin, trying to keep it at bay. He pointed the bayonet of his handgun to the gut of the goblin and stabbed it. He kicked the creature off, then sat up, shooting another goblin off the ledge.
"We need to finish here and help the others!" He shouted to Corday.

Arno woke on the lopsided deck, dazed. He inhaled, but his lungs only took in a small amount of oxygen. He tried again but still, the air was too thin. The pilot ripped off his oxygen mask and gasped, his lungs filling with cool, crisp air. He took a moment for have a few, pleasant breaths, then he took in his surroundings. Lots of trees. Well at least they weren't surrounded by concrete. He went over what happened. He took off, successfully distracted the beast, landed on the airship he was on now, then the beast hit them and he had to essentially glide his way to another island. This island, presumably. He slowly got up, wincing. He looked over himself, there wasn't any blood, he nothing felt broken, he wasn't nauseous, he played with some of the buckles on his flight suit. No loss of coordination. He remembered that once the airship touched down, the impact sent the small Harvin flying. He must have hit something, then got knocked out. He patted at himself, just to be sure, and felt a few bruises. A mild headache. That's about it. Arno counted himself as incredibly lucky, getting out of an emergency landing like that with only some bruises and a headache.

He took off his goggles, resting them on his forehead and he wiped his eyes. He felt someone pat his shoulder.
"Y-Ya did...d-did real good..." He heard. Arno turned to the Erune woman and saw her get paler, then she turned and vomited into her helmet. Arno let out an audible chuckle.
"At least it wasn't during the crash." He replied, he slowly, and painfully got up to his feet, sore. He looked around, seeing some of the others already up.
"Hey, are you two alright?! Is anyone hurt? What the heck happened here?"
Arno looked over at the new voice, seeing a white haired Erune boy. A native, Arno guessed.
"One of the engines got busted, had to make an emergency landing." Arno replied, leaving out some fairly important details, but the newcomer didn't need to know that right now. "Excuse me, have to check on something." Arno said, he stepped past the newcomer out onto the deck and walked over to his own airship, the Akula. It had slid over, now braced against the side of the airship it was landed on, but it was still on it's landing gear. He touched it's chassis and smiled, looking it over. Aside from a few scuffs and scrapes, she was fine. "Thanks girl." He whispered, rubbing the plating on the leading edge of the wing. He looked around, there wasn't any way he could get the Akula off this wreck, he'd need a crane to lift it off. He grimaced, she'd have to stay here for now. He opened the cockpit and peered in, she still had fuel too. If there was a clear runway, he'd be able to just take off and go, but this wasn't a short or vertical take off and landing airship. That was still in the sketchbook. He rubbed his chin, looking at all the trees around him, he might be able to make one... in a few months maybe. That was probably not on the table. He sat down on his airships wing, then he spoke to the Erune boy.
"By any chance is there a village or town nearby?" He asked.

Arno stormed towards his Akula, the guards and prisoners making sure to give him a wide berth, they all heard and saw him yell down a member of the 13 Heads, even if Arno didn't know it. And he he had his pistol in his hand, the large, triple barreled handgun that looked like a rifle carbine in the hands of the small statured Harvin. Arno seethed anger at this point, as he got closer he saw more of his airship taken apart. The gun barrels were screwed out, they were examining the rifling. He glanced back to his escort and made sure they were following him, hot on his heels. He looked back to his sky camouflaged airship and pointed at it.
"I want you to screw those barrels back in tight, as tight as you can and then some, then lower the engine back into its housing with the crane. Do. Not. Touch. Anything else. I will reattach the ammunition and hook the engine back in." He ordered, pointing at each of the cannon barrels, engine and crane with his free hand. He holstered his sidearm and hopped onto the wing of the airship, his first action was to start reattaching all the connections the prison engineers had taken apart.

It had taken him minutes, minutes too long. As soon as he screwed in the last panel, he picked up the heavy cannon shell clips and slotted them back into the internal magazines in the wings. Each clip snapped into place with a satisfying click, and Arno swept his fingers across the arm sized cannon shells, tipped in a rainbow assortment of black, red, and yellow stripes. He knew each color and color combination by heart, but to an outsider these cannon shells were just painted strangely. He slotted the panel back into place, completing the wing. As soon as the engine was back into place, he jumped onto the fuselage of the plane and walked down it to the engine section, he sat on the plane and leaned down, connecting fuel lines, wires, and screwing it into place. Arno rushed the work, but he made sure everything was secure before placing the fuselage covering over it. Arno then walked over to the cockpit and hopped in, they hadn't messed around with the instrumentation in here, thankfully. A quick check and he found that everything was in place. The small Harvin pulled the flight helmet over his head and secured his mask into place. He closed his eyes for a second and took a deep breath, feeling the air bladders of his flight suit fill and hug him tightly.

Then he started the engines. They rumbled to life, and Arno gave it a nudge. The volume increased and the Akula inched forwards to the middle of the hanger. He turned the front wheel and he pointed the nose towards the exit, towards the massive creature. He checked each flight control surface,, the ailerons, elevators, stabilizers. The flaps, slats, air breaks, rudders. Each piece moved flawlessly, and it was a sight to behold, seeing all of the panels, flaps and pieces move on the small airship. Once everything had passed his checks, he extended the flaps to takeoff position and steady increased the engine throttle. The two engines in the booms whined to an earsplitting volume, shooting out waves of heat. Then Arno clicked the afterburners and booster in. The exhaust from the engines rippled to life, veritable jets of fire shot out from the three engines and Arno released the breaks. The Akula lurched forward, gaining speed with every second. As soon as the wheels took off from the hanger deck, Arno pulled them back into the plane, the landing gear tucking themselves into the body of the airship. He then banked left and pulled up and away from the creature as he was leaving the hanger bay. The engine noise must have caught the Primal Beasts attention.

Arno tucked the flaps back in and kept on looking back, checking his mirrors and altitude dial. He was steadily gaining, but he kept the nose at only a 5 degree angle. He needed speed more than anything else, and to get that speed he hit his afterburners and booster engine and kept at it for longer than he was comfortable for. As soon as he was able, he cut the booster and pulled back the afterburners. He turned his Akula gracefully to point the nose of his airship at the massive beast, now some hundred meters away. He swallowed and took a deep breath. He checked his airspeed. It was decent enough, not too slow as to be an easy target, not too fast as to make maneuvers hard. He then pulled the trigger on his joystick. The twin cannons of his airplane shot out one round each, slamming into the side of the beast. Arno quickly banked right and pulled up, dodging a massive tentacle, then he moved his legs, his rudders to the right. He kept his banking turn and converted it into a barrel roll, dodging yet another tentacle. This brought his guns right at the beast again, Arno quickly cycled the cannons and fired again, slamming another two shells into the side of the creature. This time aimed at the base of where some tentacles were. His goal was to wound it, at least make it painful to move his arms. If leaving the hanger in his Akula didn't get the beasts attention before, the cannons surely did now.
