I think he's busy with his post and I've got the time, so I'll do him a favour and summarize it. Though I've had classmates and friends who were dyslexic, they were rather vague when it came to describing how it affected them, so to be safe, I'll extract the important bits in point form.

- The AUG is considered old even today and thus would probably not be in service during the time frame of this RP

- The 4th Gen SCAR, MSBS and MX rifle systems were designed to have common parts with one another. An AUG might mess up that design point. The reason I got a pass with the CZ-805 is because it's a very new weapon. It's still being phased in to the Czech army as of 2014 and thus would not take a stretch of the imagination to see it having an upgraded version in this time frame.

- It would be preferable if you took an MX rifle. He'd like to keep fictional weapons to a minimum for this RP.

- No snipers, since snipers function independently of squads. This is a squad-based RP, and thus what we have is a marksman. Snipers may be introduced later on, but not at this stage.

- No worries though, there's a spot for a combat engineer if you're willing to take it. Your character will be in charge of clearing obstacles, disarming traps, laying traps, digging entrenchments, performing on-the-spot repairs of vehicles, etc, etc.

Hope this helps!
We could definitely do with a combat engineer. I've lost count of the times my friends and I had to hike it to the objective in ARMA III 'cause we drove our APC into an indestructible fence and lost our wheels.

He could also take some of the burden for AT fire, so Mischief can fully focus on being anti-structural with the capability for AT. (In the form of a 2:1 rocket load out in terms of bunker-busting to anti-armour)

You're all too kind. ^^

I try to keep my characters three-dimensional and fleshed out. I'd look like the worst sort of hypocrite for taking shots at shoddy writing otherwise.

I approve of this hypothesis. ^^

Anyway, I think AUGs should be fine. It's a good weapon and I can foresee it being used decades into the future. Maybe not the A3 specifically, but an updated version. That said, I'm guessing your character's a marksman, so he'd probably be using the HBAR-T variant of the A3. The 42 round mag is really more for the HBAR version, and an M203 doesn't really fit a marksman character. Maybe give it a bipod and a scope of your choice.

Zdislav walked with a spring in his step as he approached the mess hall for some breakfast. He looked, and felt pretty energetic for someone who had literally just gotten off a direct flight from the Czech Republic in the heart of Europe to the Aegean island of Stratis. The aircraft which had brought him there was quite literally still on the tarmac, awaiting clearance to takeoff. Thankfully for Zdislav, his equipment had been sent to Stratis ahead of him, so he did not have to waste any time getting them stowed away. He had been supposed to go with them, but an administrative error which saw him being posted to a 601st unit in Prague even though he had already informed his superiors of his application of leave and their approval of him to join the CTRG. By the time they had rectified the error and given the poor clerk responsible a stern warning, three days had passed.

Still, Zdislav could not complain. He was on Stratis, and that was the important bit. He had not heard of any significant operations on the island, so he guessed that he had not missed any action. He looked forward to working with his new team; he had never worked with many international teams. The most international thing he did was a joint exercise between Czech, Croatian and German special forces to practice and rehearse combat drills before their deployment to Nigeria. Zdislav's smile faded slightly as he wondered if his less-than-perfect command of English would get in the way, but he quickly banished that thought. Croatian and German were far more complicated languages and he had handled them just fine.

He walked up the stairs to the mess hall and immediately realized just out-of-place he must have looked. Everyone was wearing at least something in the UBACs camouflage pattern while Zdislav was still wearing his very green and very Czech vz. 95 uniform. The Czech army had issued him with an alternate pattern of his kit in the camouflage used by the CTRG, but Zdislav honestly did not understand it. The vz. 95 looked as if it would function very well in the plentiful forests and grasslands of Stratis.

Zdislav adjusted his sleeves and jockey cap as he looked around for an empty table. By chance, he spotted a familiar face. It had been years, but Zdislav still vaguely remembered how Huscarl looked. He approached the table and saw several other people sitting around it and quickly guessed that they were to be his team mate for the foreseeable future. "Sir," Zdisalv said loudly to catch Huscarl's attention as he gave a quick salute. Huscarl had outranked Zdislav in Nigeria, and the Czech guessed that he still did. "Staff Sergeant Zdislav Cermak, sir. We met briefly in Nigeria. I think I was laying detonation cord to blow out a wall of a militia building." He said. "I apologize for coming late. The Czech army believed that I had been posted to another unit."

Officially, doctors describe him as having a slender build, but who knows just what 'slender' means. With a naturally impish look, Zdislav looks every bit as mischievous as his callsign implies. He has striking blue eyes and an angular face. His auburn hair is kept as long as he is allowed to keep it.

History:

Born in Brno, Zdislav has been around rifles literally from birth. His father worked in the local factory and would often speak at length about his experiences whenever he had the time. He would tell Zdislav all the intricate planning and research that went into the development of a rifle; the history behind the firearm and of course, the famous Bren gun which was half-developed by Brno. This fascination with weaponry eventually developed into a fascination with the military in general and it was of no surprise to everyone when Zdislav decided to sign up with the military once he hit 18. He had no specific unit in mind when he signed up; he just wanted to be around, and use, military hardware and get paid for it.

Of course, he had forgotten about the disciplinary side of things and quickly developed a reputation with his instructors as being a very enthusiastic, very capable but very mischievous recruit. It was during this period when he first received the nickname which would go on to be his callsign in whatever unit he served with. Like his fellow recruits, he passed basic and was soon posted for further training as an explosives expert. His natural fascination with weaponry, coupled with a can-do attitude and knack for destroying things made him a shoe-in candidate.

It was during his specialized training when his exceptional strength and endurance became very apparent. While most recruits floundered during the first few days with the heavy load they were expected to carry, Zdislav found no problems with lugging and RPG, rockets for the RPG and several blocks of C4 over a five kilometer march. He did get tired eventually, after the fourth Kilometer, but that was still two kilometers further than most recruits. This exceptional endurance, along with his can-do attitude and overall enthusiastic demeanor made him a very attractive choice for the 601st.

What went on during his training with the 601st is still classified information, but what is know is that he was part of the Czech contribution to a European Union peacekeeping mission in Nigeria. While his official orders were to police the area and purge it of any hostile militia forces, the 601st unit he was attached to ended up being used to disrupt the militia forces through sabotage and constant raids to keep them on their toes. During this conflict, Zdislav became notable for being promoted from corporal to staff sergeant within the space of a week. He went from corporal to sergeant on a Monday for his invaluable assistance for rigging every militia vehicle in a compound with explosives charges within a record time of half an hour. He was unofficially promoted to staff sergeant on Thursday after the previous staff sergeant of his squad was killed in an ambush. That promotion was soon made official on Saturday in light of another fight Zdislav was involved with, this time for taking the initiative to use his bunker-busting warheads to score a total of two mobility kills on enemy armoured vehicles.

He had a run-in with Huscarl once or twice, but they were never in a situation where they could talk. Zdislav admired the man for his skills and thought of their encounters as forgettable for both parties. However, an invitation from Huscarl to join Task Force Husky proved Zdislav wrong.

Name: Josephine Olivier
Callsign: Amethyst
Age: 30
Rank: Captain
Appearance: Standing at 1.65 meters tall, Josephine is a short and lithe woman. She rarely allows her auburn hair to grow past her shoulders. More often than not, she has a serious look on her face when flying and a generally bored look when doing anything else.
Weapons:

FN FNP-45 (4-five .45)
- Laser sight
- Extended magazine

Combat knife

History: Josephine was born in Marseille and led a life that could be considered luxurious. Her father, a rich businessman, was pretty much able to get her anything she could ask for. Of course, the only thing she ever did ask for and insist upon were flying lessons when she turned sixteen. Seeing no harm in it, her father paid for her to learn how to fly simple piston-powered aircraft. Even at such a young age, Josephine displayed an aptitude for flying, performing her first solo flight only after a few months of lessons and earning her license at age 18. Much to her family's disappointment, however, she did not pursue any further studies and ended up signing up with the French Air Force, fully expecting to become a fighter pilot.

Unfortunately, she failed to pass the medical checkup and while she was unfit to be a fighter pilot, she was able to fly combat helicopters. Josephine accepted that fact begrudgingly. She was resistant towards the idea of flying a helicopter at first, thinking that if she put up enough of a fight and filed enough appeals, she might manage to slip through and enter the cockpit of a Rafael. Eventually, however, she learned to respect the helicopter and it's capabilities. Though she still wishes to be a fighter pilot, she has redirected her driven personality towards flying the Comanche. If she's going to be a helicopter pilot, then she's going to be the best there is.

With her drive, skills and no-nonsense attitude towards just about everything, it was little wonder that she was picked to be sent to Altis.

Skills:

- Flying prodigy. So good at the controls it's like she was born to fly.
- Tenacious. She can be counted upon to complete any task given to her. Whether or not the helicopter can be used afterwards is a whole other matter.

Equipment:

- Flight Suit
- Multitool
- Fire-starting knife
- Flare gun

Name: Muhammad Shafiq Bin Rasheed
Callsign: Amethyst
Age: 28
Rank: Lieutenant
Appearance: Shafiq stands at 1.75 meters tall and is a muscular, heavy-set person. Most people wonder how he actually fits inside a helicopter. He has a smile on his face most of the time, a dead giveaway of his friendly and amicable nature. He keeps his black hair as short as he can without being considered bald.

Weapons:

TDI Vector (Vermin SBR)
- Extended Mag
- Red Dot Sight

History: Shafiq has a rather complicated history. He was born a Singaporean, but had the unfortunate luck of running afoul of the government by being linked to several activist groups on the island. Adding to that was his Malay ancestry, which made him ineligible for most of the combat vocations he wanted to serve in during his national service. He had always wanted to be a pilot in the air force, but instead, he was enlisted as a regular infantryman. He finished his two years of service without accomplishing much, but he had already made his mind up as to where he wanted to go. He had heard of the French Foreign Legion through the internet and decided that if it meant him getting to see some actual combat, it was worth a shot.

He spent a year working and learning how to speak French. At age 20, he boarded a flight for France and signed up for the Foreign Legion. Training was tough, and at times complete hell, but Shafiq proved to be tougher. He passed selection and was inducted into the Foreign Legion as a trainee. His time in service went without incident, and after three years, he renounced Singaporean citizenship and became a French citizen. His first, and last, combat assignment as an infantryman was in Nigeria, where he fought the CSAT-funded militia. He was wounded in action and subsequently honorably discharged from the legion due to the effects of his wounds.

After a year of recuperation, Shafiq found civilian life ill-suited for him and decided to give the French Air Force a shot. He had never thought they would actually agree to take him on, but when they did, he certainly was not about to complain. He was trained as a weapon's system's officer, given his lack of flying experience but his extensive knowledge of weaponry and his pair of good eyes. Eventually, he was assigned to Josephine's helicopter. With her skills and his eyes, they were a right menace in the skies.

Skills:

- Exceptional eyesight. Probably able to spot a polar bear in the Arctic from the sky.
- Legion trained. Just because he was discharged doesn't mean he's any less deadly or resilient

Equipment:

- Flight suit
- 4X signal flares
- Fire-starting knife
Ah...Only just checked my PMs. ><'' Dropped off the surface of the Earth for a bit while I had to deal with all the problems my conscription's kicking up.

Anyway, I'd like to join if there's space. Any restrictions on race, though? Would like to try a Singaporean character again. =P
Sorry for not being around, final exams kept me busy. ><'' Last paper's tomorrow, though, so I'll be free after that. =D
Zhenya went over the rooms he had swept once more, this time checking to make sure the insurgents did not have anything hidden away somewhere. The floor and walls of the building was pretty much compacted earth and that made them prime locations to hide anything. They would just have to dig a hole, throw whatever they wanted hidden in and cover it with dirt and no one would be able to find them. Zhenya ran his hands along the wall, rapping them with his knuckles every now and then to look for the distinctive soft texture of a recently remodeled wall. He had to be quick; the captain and the rest of the squad were already preparing to assault the last building.

He reached the room where he had killed the insurgent earlier, and that was when he noticed something he had missed earlier during the rush of combat. Part of the floor near the center of the room felt a lot softer than the other parts of the room. Curious, Zhenya knelt and inspected the spot. It was darker than the rest of the floor, and experience from Chechnya told him that this meant that the ground had been recently disturbed. "Neil!" He called out and waited for the Australian to approach before continuing. "Looks like someone was burying something just before we got here." He said and drew his shovel.

He sank the blade into the earth and carefully removed layers of sand and mud. After a few seconds of digging, he came upon a few cylindrical canisters, each of them roughly the size of a smoke grenade or flashbang. Zhenya took one out and handed it to Neil. "Not sure what's in these, but if they buried it...It has to be something important." He said and stood up, turning over one of the canisters in his hands. "Captain, we found something." He said into his microphone. "Small canisters, unmarked and filled with unknown contents." He said and checked the canister for any inscriptions. Unfortunately, he found none. "We've only got four in this building. Looks like they buried it just before we breached the place."

Zhenya tucked the canister into one of his pouches. "We should go assist the captain. It is likely the insurgents will have more in the last buildings." He said to Neil before adding with a smirk, "I'd like to see what's in this as well. Maybe I can try it on the insurgents, see how they like it."
