Our story begins with six normal friends. Normal people, living normal lives, in simple serenity. Each one of them holds a secret; but masks this with the general content of the normal life they wish to have. It was only of natural instinct for a man to expose these secrets. What could he do to achieve this goal? What could a human being do to spice things up among this seemingly picturesque group?

But of course, Heartseed is no ordinary man, nor human. He is a drifting soul. A drifting soul, that is, with extraordinary power. He has the ability to switch the souls of multiple human beings at any his every whim. His abilities do not stop there. No, Heartseed also has the gift to unleash the desires or urges of others that they normally suppress.

Many would think it of Heartseed to use his powers for evil, the complete and utter destruction of the world as he knew it to be. Contrary to this popular belief, Heartseed simply uses his power to entertain himself. He breaks hearts, forges lies, and perhaps even makes friendships among his human toys.

Not so recently, Heartseed's last group lost his interest. With their purpose fulfilled, he has begun seeking out the perfect set to manipulate next. This is where our previously mentioned group of friends fits in. Six teenagers trying to hide secrets that are best kept in the dark. How could he resist the temptation?

And thus, the soul seeds were planted.

“When it is no longer entertaining, I will stop. Until then, enjoy the show…”

You and your five friends have been selected to be a part of Heartseed's performance. You are one of his playthings. This is based off of the ideas in the anime/manga Kokoro Connect. Don’t be scared off, though. There will be no canon characters-- except Heartseed, of course-- so if you’ve gotten this far, you’re good. There’s no need to read/watch Kokoro Connect to join this. I’ve got a vague, ambiguous idea for the plot direction, but in all honesty, this is just a comedic roleplay. Have fun, roll with the punches, wing it!

If you join, you'd better be able to commit. If one person leaves in the middle of the roleplay, we'll have to start the entire thing over. Post as often as you can, and don't join unless you know you'll have time. I understand you have a life, so if there's a reason you can't post for 2 days or more, let me know. If you just up and disappear, I'll have to assume you're not interested. Thank you.

Rules

- Literacy: Please use proper grammar, spelling, etc. (Typos, obviously, are understood) We would all love to be able to respond to your posts, so make your posts substantial. At least 3+ paragraphs.
- Romance: Is perfectly fine, regardless of sexuality. Keep in mind, no one wants to read your love letters to another character on page two. (Though it would be funny if there was a character who wrote obsessive love letters I mean what--)
- Cybering: Is an obvious no. When souls are switched, they find themselves in another body. If you find yourself in someone else’ body, of course there might be some perverse moments. Just don’t break any general RPG rules about this stuff.
- Posting: There won't be a posting order. Just wait for at least two people to post before you reply again.
- Pictures: Real, please. Do not use a picture of a widely renowned star.
- Characters: This is not first come, first serve. I would like creative characters. Take your Mary/Gary Sues and leave. I might accept someone who posted after you simply because their character seems more interesting. Don’t cry about it. Put some thought into your character.
- Setting: Please note that this takes place in the small urban town of Frederick, Maryland, in our characters’ senior year of high school. If your character is obviously Caucasian, please do not give them some hipster bullshit Japanese name. If you have a unique backstory which provides reason to this (ie, was adopted from Japan as a child), then it would be accepted. Just be culturally conscious.

Personality: Teaghan is a quirky and clumsy. She focuses her energy on college applications and her education, determined to get a scholarship to a decent school. She’s worrisome, but not paranoid, and her friends enjoy poking fun at her often-overwhelmed state. Teaghan is your typical goody-two-shoes, refraining from typical high school parties to watch her siblings or study. She’s extremely disorganized, often finding herself surrounded by clutter. She doesn’t take hints easily, as she’s admittedly socially awkward.

Secret: Teaghan actually “gets around” with certain high schoolers for money, being sure that they swear themselves to secrecy so she can continue making money under the table.

Other: Teaghan’s mother passed away when she was in elementary school. She and her three siblings are under the irresponsible watch of her older brother who dropped out of college to take care of them. Blaming his academic failures on his family, he provides them with the bare minimum they need to get by, usually resorting to food stamps and financial aid from the school systems. Teaghan struggles to help her younger siblings get what they need.

Secret: Alex has a Godzilla sized crush on his married history teacher. Has written poems about her and taken pictures of her (borderline stalking)

Other: Alex Barrett was born in Frederick, Maryland and has lived there all his life. Alex is one of the shining examples in the community and is generally well thought of at the school. He is part of the wrestling team, maintains a solid GPA, active at his Church, and is going to The University of North Carolina next year on a wrestling scholarship. Word is that the U-S Olympic team is interested in him as well. However though Alex does have a wild side in that he likes to go out and party every so often or pull the occasional prank as well. Again for Alex it's all about balance; he's a good kid but not perfect.

His dad is a police captain and his mom is the principal at the Junior High School. Alex also has a twin sister Kathleen, and a younger brother Bill.

By all accounts things look really great for Alex and his family. Assuming his secret never gets out. If that secret ever got out his reputation could go down like a house of cards because of the embarrassment it could cause.

Is ... Is the mascot for Elton a panda bear? Because Alena would wear little panda-bear ears the school would probably sell. I haven't quite decided how she feels around Jake and Ray yet, though I did laugh earlier imagining in middle school Ray and Alena meeting by him taking piano lessons with Alena's mother (though it'd probably be too late in his life for that?). She'd probably have the hardest time connecting to Jake.

It can be if you'd like! For details like the school mascot, colors, the dance theme, etc., you guys can decide that if you'd like to make it clear for one of your posts or something. Just make sure you post in the OOC that you established the school colors as violet and pink so we all know, in case we missed it in your post.
