I got pretty restless out of boredom, so I ended up churning this out earlier than expected. And holy hell is it a pain to post on mobile. I probably have to go over and re-format the CS once I get onto my laptop in the morning.
Hm. I'll also put forth my interest. I've got exams coming up, but I've been wanting to get back into RPing for a while now. The GM for another RP I've been wanting to join seems to have disappeared without a trace too, and it seems to take ages before another RP that suits my tastes pops up. Might as well not let this one pass me by. Rambling aside, I'm thinking of making a scribe.
Oh, I forgot something. You mentioned in the OP something about the 'true' Sievari having an ancient form of magic. I assumed that this is something separate from regular magic, so do the other races (and other humans) have magic?
It did make things clearer as far as magic is concerned; nothing too confusing. Like somebody said, you've thought a lot of details through. I'm a bit curious about some stuff, but it can wait until later if we push through with this. The lifestyles of the people in this story, social classes, etc.
I'm interested. Haven't done too much roleplaying or even writing in general in a while... What kind of magic are we dealing with here? The flashy video game type or a more subtle approach?
Hello there.

For the unfamiliar, the Nasuverse is what fans call the collection of various works of Kinoko Nasu. The two main works most people are familiar with are of course, Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime. There are always a few Fate/Stay Night RPs at any point in time, but a battle royale type RP isn't quite what I'm looking for right at the moment. My personal problem with such RPs are that they are made to be competitive, and it is hard to keep fairness with players in this loose format without the rules being too rigid, especially with certain types of people.

So, I'm wondering how many people might be interested in an RP that doesn't necessarily have to take place in the Nasuverse itself (I wouldn't be against it though), but is modeled after it and takes a few key concepts and styles from it. For example,

  • ridiculously overpowered beings doing battle

  • people not dying when they are killed

  • the nature of magic, powers and supernatural beings

  • contradictions to the above

  • a central location to the story, such as a small city or town

  • lighthearted interaction between characters during non-action parts

  • occasional bits of grim and dark stuff

  • I don't have anything at the moment, but if enough people show interest, I might be inspired enough to get something solid written down. Other people are of course free to start something if they already have ideas, and I would probably join you (and help you if you need). Shoot me a PM, I'll listen.

Ideas I'm leaning on right now would revolve heavily around the concepts of Gaia and Alaya. To those who don't know, Gaia is said to be the will of the living planet and Alaya the collective unconscious will of humanity. There of course needs to be some sort of preliminary conflict going on, and some ideas for that could be either a murder mystery serial killing thing or a series of strange occurrences around the central location.

Oh man, Kitsune, you totally ninja'd what I was going for with my char's personality. I'm gonna have to rework him slightly.

barebones char sheet (no h8 ((wip)))

    Name: Terrence W. Arlinghaus
    Nickname: Bill

    Age: 25

    Personality:

    History:
Terrence is descended from a once prestigious clan of alchemists who aimed to recreate the primordial essence that was theorized to be one of the origins of all life. However, conflicts between magical clans during this time was great, and theirs was not a clan that could survive conflict for long, being structured for research rather than longevity. Nearly all of the clan was wiped out, along with most of its research.

Terrence's line is descended of one the surviving branch families. Not much magical potential was seen in this family, so they served as mere recordkeepers with little clout in the modern magical society. That was, until Terrence's great-great-great-great Grandfather, sought to put his family into a more prestigious light. However, the magical potential was still weak in their family, limiting their efforts.

Terrence was a rarity in his family, a magus with exceptional ability who in his twenty or so years of life had already surpassed the abilities of his father and grandfather combined. He disappeared from the clan grounds, and the next thing his family knew, he had joined the conflict, "out of sheer boredom". Still having no heir or family of his own, the family's elders were enraged upon hearing Terrence joining, seeing him as the hope and future of the Arlinghaus clan. Alas, Terrence had already left, and there was no longer anything they could except await the results of Ragnarok.

I said Are methods of forcibly exhausting an opponent's mana considered commonplace?

^I meant to this separate this question, must have been sleepy

Yes, there wouldn't be enough Qnd to renew the Seal. The Fateweaver COULD interfere if that method is mainly used, sorta unspoken rule, that must not mean he kills the assassin but instead could maybe even help improve the killers technique, like adding a "Manaburning" effect to a poison or something.

I see. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm asking all these questions, but I still have pretty much nothing in mind as far as characters go lol. Leaning slightly towards a Fae-user.
