Edit: Thanks for the direction! I am glad to have the opportunity to be part of an RP that has strict rules, which will make for excellent RP. I have added a ton of backstory for my character. I hope you enjoy.

Ethnicity: Half Irish, Half Portuguese.
Sex: Female.
Appearance:
Katherine has a buttermilk complexion, though her skin has a slight tan to it. Her oval face is long and thin, tapering in underneath her cheekbones. She usually keeps herself well groomed, brushed hair and a clean face. Her father says that is an important thing to remember in this overran insane world. Her usual outfits include canvas rompers, complete with metal buttons sometimes formed from used bullet casings, and shorts with a heavy jacket. She walks slouched, and keeps her head down. Her eyes are always filled with a sense of wonder, an innocence of the world, which causes her trouble. Rarely is Kat seen without her messenger bag around her neck and shoulder, danging onto her right hip. Usually has a bottle or two tied to her belt. Always keeps her small bow fastened to her back. Her long blonde hair is usually let down, though sometimes worn in a ponytail or messy braid. She is pretty thin, and stands around 5'5".
Job:
Kat is known by the people on her floor of the underground mall as the go to girl for uniform and outfit mending. She can repair and modify just about any article of clothing. Not only are the outfits she wear handcrafted from materials, but they are also have effective defensive methods, such as liquid and fire resistant.
Biography:
Cold and dark the world had become, an unsafe and desolate deadlands. Born to Eric and Laurel Evermore in the back of a old long abandoned van, the first thing Katherine felt was the hand of her father gently placed on her mouth, as to keep her from crying and alerting the infected. The child was an unexpected surprise, and Laurel never wanted a child. You could almost understand her concern, as bringing a child up in this world was insane. However her dislike for Katherine was deeper, Laurel hated children. Refusing to breastfeed, Eric was forced to go on supply runs to find formula. In the time he was gone, Laurel would do everything in her power to not care for the newborn. Leaving her alone in a car or near the edge of a steep cliff. Eric would return from runs, and scoop up his child. Questioning his wife's motives, she always had a seemingly reasonable excuse as to why the baby was there. It didn't take long, before Laurel decided this wasn't what she wanted. She never loved Eric, just was scared of being alone. Setting Kat on the cold, damp ground, Laurel took most of the families supplies and left. Eric returned extremely exhausted, to find his baby being sniffed by a few infected and Laurel no where to be find. In a fit of rage, Eric beat the infected till nothing was left but mere blood puddles. Through out the night he fastened together a carrier to keep her held close to his chest, as he traversed the overgrown highway.
Life got much harder on Eric as Katherine grew in age, no longer was she just a baby whom he could keep strapped onto his chest. She was a child, a very curious one at that, who walked and ran around Eric as they moved through the infected world. Kat's eyes were always filled with a sense of exploration, the want to learn and discover. When she was only five, her brain knew the second her father clamped his fingers together and made a fist, that it was time to be quiet and stay very close. After scouting out a gas station himself, Eric sent out a small whistle, to call his daughter to the decaying building. The entrance covered in vines and plant life, he had cut a small hole through the bottom. Kneeling down, he held the back of her neck. "Ok Kat, Daddy needs you to crawl through this hole and push whatever food you find back over. Can you complete your special mission?" Kat nodded lightly, squeezing Eric's hand. He could barely breathe, sending his daughter into what could be a dangerous place, however he stuck to his confidence that nothing was in there and that she'd be safe. After crawling through the hole, Kat began to scavenge. Her little hands grabbing as many cans as she could carry, she rolled them back under. As Kat was ready to return to her father's embrace, her little eyes noticed some candy atop a shelf. Slowly approaching it, she began to climb up the metal shelving. Standing high above, she grabbed the candy and smiled brightly, proudly wanting to show her father what she had found. As she knelt down, the shelf started to shake. Kat could hear the groaning of an infected, trying desperately to reach her, and he was almost there. "Daddy!" Crying out in terror for her father. Eric panicked and started to hack his way into the plants, but they were so intertwined he may as well been cutting steel. "Fight Kat, Don't be scared!" Barely able to speak the words calmly himself. Kat shoved the candy quickly into her pocket, and darted her little gold eyes around the room. Catching her attention, a small ladder to a roof access was high up above. Bending her knees, she jumped high and barely grasped the lowest handle. Water trickled down, causing her little fingers to slip off slowly. Kat pushed on, and used all her strength to reach up and cling to the handle for dear life. "Kat! Kat!" Her father shouted frantically, banging desperately on the wall, the infected turning it's attention towards the entrance but only for a few moments. "Daddy!" Kat shouted down, from the stone roof. "Look what I found!" Proudly shoving the orange wrapped candy up for him to see. "Ka.." Eric could barely call out to her, no louder than a mumble. Overwhelmed with emotion, he could feel his heart sink so far down, almost able to walk on it. He barfed the contents of the mornings canned breakfast, and breathed heavily. "Come on, Kat." He stated in a stern tone, widening his arms out for her to jump safely into.
The years past, and the constant running and physically demanding life started to wear down on her father. They were staying in one location for longer periods of time, only to be removed by the looming threat of the infected. Kat was only 9 years old, when she discovered that losing her daddy is a very real threat. Eric grew ill, and his health decayed. When Eric could no longer walk, he held his baby in his arms, and started to tell her the basics of survival. Bedtime stories he called them, brushing the hair behind her little ear. Holding her tightly against his chest, as he once did when she was barely 6 months old, Eric closed his eyes and lifelessly lay in the small wood closet they hid in for safety. "Daddy.." Katherine whined lightly, tugging on his shirt. "Wake up, Daddy." Eric didn't budge. Unsure what to do, Kat stayed bundled on him for 2 days. Pouring slush down his mouth, she wanted to make sure he ate. Wrapping blankets around him for warmth, because he started to feel cold, Kat creaked open the small closet door. Beaming through, the sun shone brightly down on her pale little face. Looking back at him for permission, hoping that get him to move, Kat left the creaking closet. "Medicine?" Kat thought to herself, remembering what Daddy had told her in a bedtime story years ago. Squinting her eyes tightly, Kat tried to remember as best as she could. "Daddy needs Medicine." Taking a hold of Eric's old messenger bag, Kat wrapped it around herself, just as Eric once had. "We can do this." Kat glowed with confidence, talking to the small stuffed rabbit held in her hand. She created him herself, using old scrapes they found in a trailer two years back.
Over the course of a day Kat ventured through the wild fields of plants, that once used to be a city. Her vision constantly searching for the capsule shaped "Pill" that medicine came in. It's all she had to go on, and it was enough for her to search every inch of the town. As the sun was setting, Kat came across a building with a large sign that had a small pill on it. Overwhelmed with delight, Kat headed in the direction of the store. Climbing up through the window, using vines as easily as handrails, Kat scavenged the store. Already ransacked, nothing of use could be found.. Slumping down against a wall, Kat's little grin turned to a grimace. Tears streamed down her cheeks, and onto the floor. "Daddy.." She cried out lightly, not knowing what to do. Pounding her little fist against the wall, the counter above dropped a box with a pink pill as the logo. Almost instantly she smiled from cheek to cheek, using her sleeve to wipe away the tears. Looking up, a feline's head with darting eyes was staring back at her. "Thanks Mister Kitty." Kat spoke softly to the cat. Purring lightly, it descent down next to her. Kat reached out to pet him, and the cat started to hiss and whine. Crawling back away from it, the cat jumped on top of her and started to claw at her chest. In a panic, Kat screamed pushing it off and kicking him away quickly. Kat took off running, and didn't stop running. She passed the carnival, most of the town and a completely wild jungle of plants. Straight up the hill, and onto the porch. She stopped only for a moment to let her little lungs catch up. Being almost pitch black outside, Kat felt her way through the house. The walls felt a lot worse than they looked, her fingers getting bricked with many splinters. Finally she reached the closet door, shuffling her way inside of it. Overwhelmed by the adventure, Kat fumbled for the lighter her father kept in his shirt pocket. Flicking it open, the fiery flame lit the small hiding room. Sliding the pill into his mouth, and pouring some slush in, she raised his head slightly. As the hours passed, and the sun began to shine through, Eric started to come to.
Eric did everything in his power, to allow Katherine to keep a cheerful attitude. Seeing her bright smile every morning kept him going. He knew she would have to fight in order to survive in this world, he wasn't always going to be there to protect her. Katherine had just turned fourteen, and like most birthdays he didn't have much to give her. Spending many sleepless nights, he carved and scraped away at a long piece of wood. After he gave her the annual piece of candy, a tradition they started since she was five, he handed over the most smooth and finely crafted bow she had ever seen. Eric hung his head down, almost ashamed that he couldn't give her anything. Katherine's face lit up when the bow was placed in her lap, she grinned excitingly, and swiftly wrapped her arms around his lower body. Biting his lip lightly, Eric held back any emotions and just simply smiled. "Thank you Daddy! I love it!" She proclaimed, rather excited. "Anything for you." Eric said as he knelt down on a knee, pulling Kat's head into his shoulder. "Everyday, we will practice."
Even after discovering the Refuge, Eric never has his eye off of her. Katherine applied years of mending and repairing their clothing and bags, into something usual that would benefit the community. Nothing could have made Eric prouder. Though the threat of the infected was slowly leaving his mind, something much worse came into it. Katherine was a seventeen year old girl, and the Refuge was not in short supply of young men.
Skills and Talents:
Can climb up or through almost anything.
Usually can bring the best out of anyone, her father calls her silver tongued.
Quick Reflexes, she can usually react to things in a fast pace.
Primary Skill:
Cloth, leather, canvas, any kind of material, Kat can form into something very useful.
Her father taught her to use a bow, and trained her in it from a very early age. Being constantly on the run, and supplies always low, a gun with ammo was not always easily accessible.
Fletching, to create arrows quickly and crudely for her bow.
Hobby:
She usually spends her time helping locals put together kits of bandages and food for the wounded, and supply runners. Electronics of the old world fascinate her, so she can be seen tinkering with them. Though she has little knowledge of what they actually do, besides stories her father told her. Sometimes she will go off into a more secluded area of the mall with a friend or two and practice shooting targets with her bow, her cat like reflexes allow her to shoot off arrows very quickly and moderately well precision.
Negative Trait:
Katherine can be a very compassionate person, and often sympathizes for people who shouldn't get any.
Even though many call her Kat, she absolutely hates cats. As she swears a rabid one attempted to claw her to death at the age of 9.
Terrible at hand to hand combat, being constantly guarded by her father nothing ever got close enough for her to need to learn nor did her father want her to learn. His own selfish want for her to think she was always safe kept him from teaching her much.
