Judge Dredd - Beyond the Judges

Peach Trees was in orderly chaos once more after Judge Dredd and his rookie captured, judged, and executed the notorious leader of the Ma-Ma clan. It took some time, but eventually the Judges managed to root out all but the most cowardly rats under Ma-Ma’s influence. Life continued as it had for the normal folks, however a power vacuum was created after the Ma-Ma clan was wiped out, and every slum lord with a gun and a few goons thought he could be the next superpower.

Turf war once more broke out over the floors of Peach Trees, however this was nothing the local folks hadn't seen, and the squabbles were so minuscule not even a Judge bothered to show up for half the crimes that went down. However not everyone was looking to become the next slum lord, there was one individual whose sights were set much higher.

She was an ex-Judge, hardened by short but violent years of service to her people. She’d seen things, lived things that one would not wish onto their worst enemy. It was a thankless job that paid little, and she was hated and feared. Even amongst the Judges she was held with strained respect at best. She wanted out, but what did retirement offer her? She no longer has any love for the law, nor the people she was sworn to protect. Pushing papers at a desk was a monotony she dreaded only slightly less than taking The Long Walk.

After taking an early retirement she went and founded her own clan, in the dark, uninvolved with petty turf war, and pushed these men through Judge training. They were equipped with weaponry that surpassed even the Judges’ arsenals, and everyone of these men would pass the Judge assessment with flying colours. This was the birth of a new age, and a new superpower will finally claim not just one sector, but Mega City One as a whole.

As more and more rumours circulated about these super human thugs, calling themselves The Legion, taking down gangs one sector at a time with cruel and calculated precision, the Justice Department could ignore them no longer and Judges were dispatched to eliminate the threat. You have the choice to play as a Judge (up to a maximum of four Judges, so first come first serve) or you can choose to have control over a whole opposing gang, we have no limit on how many gangs are in existence.

Word of caution though, players playing Judges have a higher rate of having their characters killed/murdered, since the morality rate of a Judge is very high. IF the story comes to that and we agree on the death of a Judge, the player is free to choose another character.

If you are going to create a gang you maybe be in opposition or alliance with the currently rising superpower. It is up to you, through story development, to play your cards how you see fit. Since players that choose to play a gang need to control the whole gang, it will be slightly NRP-ish, but on a much smaller scale. Also your gangs are not limited to Peach Trees only, but can be from any district within Megacity One.

We would like the story to be very open ended, with what’s described above only as a guideline to get everyone started. No canon characters, and we are using the Dredd-verse from the latest movie for visual references, however anything from Dredd-verse in the comics can be used, as long as the character(s) is(are) not canon.

Character Sheet

I personally do not like character sheets, so I’m going to request that instead of a character sheet, just tell us which role you are playing. I would rather that your character sheet be your introduction post. Players playing Judges should introduce the Judge both as a law enforcement officer and also as a person, some description of the character and a segway into the actual story. Players playing a gang should describe the birth of the gang, the leader, the history of the gang and again, a segway into the current story. Think of this as your first IC post but posted in the OOC section.

I’m aware that I’m asking you to do this without a first post from the GM, however there should be enough information on the state of things from the OOC introduction for you to get your creative juices flowing. Your character will be accepted based on your post, once accepted your character introduction posts can be copied over to the IC as your first round of posts.

Cooking Help, Questions, and Recipes

Super simple two ingredient pancakes

Well, it only requires 2 ingredients, so this works if it's all you have. But to make it better it takes 4 ingredients. This makes an amazing breakfast, or snack, or just...anytime really ;).

Ingredients

• 1 Banana


• 2 eggs


• 1/4 tsp baking powder(optional)


• 1/4 tsp vanilla extract(optional)

Directions

1. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat with some butter(about 1 tablespoon).


2. While pan is heating, mash the banana into mush, then add the two eggs and mix well with a whisk or fork. If using optional ingredients, add those in as well.


3. Pour spoonfuls of batter into the hot pan, making about 2 1/2 inch big medallion pancakes. Wait until little bubbles form on the pancakes then flip with a flipper.


4. You should be able to get a whole plateful of little pancakes, drizzle in maple syrup, or top with fresh fruit, whipped cream. Whatever you want and consume!

Cooking Help, Questions, and Recipes

This is neat, and Omega has asked me to talk about eggs, so.....eggs it is!! I personally love eggs, they're versatile, delicious, easy to cook and difficult to screw up too badly. Eggs are also nutritious and has a very high absorption rate. There are a few ways to eat eggs, but the most simple are boiled, scrambled, poached and fried. With some oil and a non-stick skillet, you can have a delicious meal any time of the day.

Boiled

There are three types of boiled eggs, soft, medium and hard. For the purpose of this thread I'm going going to talk about hard boiled, since it's I feel the easiest. You'll need a pot, some water, a burner or stove, and duh, eggs.

1. Put the number of eggs you want to boil in a pot, I'd say use a small pot for up to 4 eggs.


2. Cover the eggs with cold water until they're submerged. Cover the pot with a lid.


3. Put the pot over medium heat. Turn off the heat once the water is bubbling boiling.


4. Keep the lid on and let the eggs sit in the hot water for 7-10 minutes. The eggs will be perfectly boiled.

Scrambled

This is one of the simplest ways to eat eggs fast, and again, any time of the day! For one person, you'll need 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, personally I use coconut, but butter is also good, and a splash of milk or water. Salt and pepper would be good for seasoning.

1. Heat a non-stick pan on medium heat, melt the butter and/or heat the oil up. Oil is hot enough when a drop of water sizzles.


2. Crack the eggs into a bowl, mix in salt and pepper and a splash of milk or water. The milk adds flavour but both liquids will add volume to the eggs, making them more fluffy.


3. Once the oil/butter is hot enough, pour in the eggs and let the bottom firm up. If you like fluffy soft eggs, start stirring the egg in the pan immediately until it's a fluffy lump. If you like your eggs more firm, then let the bottom firm up then slowly flip the eggs, breaking them into bite size pieces.


4. Serve with bacon, salsa, fruit, or just eat them plain!

Poached

Poached eggs are delicious, but they're somewhat difficult to make unless you're extremely patient. There is an easy way to do it though, they don't turn out as round as in restaurants, but they're just as good.

1. Fill a non-stick pan with about 2 inches of water. Heat the water over medium heat until you see bubbles on the bottom of the pan, but the water isn't boiling.


2. Crack open an egg and gently drop it into the water, try not to disturb the eggs as much as possible. Wait until all the whites have turned from clear to milky white, then scoop it out with a spoon. One that won't damage your non-stick pan.


3. Poach eggs one at a time if you're new at this, two max since any more will drop the water temperature.


4. Serve on toast, with fruit, or just eat them straight out of a spoon.

Fried

Fried eggs and bacon is one of my favourite breakfasts. Easy as hell to do and yet never fails to impress. To make the eggs extra good, cook bacon in the pan first, just heat the pan and lay down strips, then drain the bacon on a piece of paper towel and save the bacon grease.

1. Heat pan over medium heat, if you've just cooked bacon in the pan then scrape out the black bits from the bacon first.


2. Heat up two tablespoons of cooking oil or bacon fat or butter in the pan.


3. Crack open two eggs and drop them gently into the heated pan. The egg whites should start to cook up immediately. Turn the heat down to low to prevent burning. Cook untl all the white is solid. Cover with lid and cook the top of the yolk as well if you prefer over easy.


4. Serve with bacon, fruit, on toast, or whichever.

There are countless more ways to cook eggs, but those are the most basic ones, they also require the least amount of time and effort and you can do them with minimal pantry supplies. Hope this helps!

Judge Dredd RP

This was such a random inspiration but the idea hit and Fallen Muse and myself just rolled with it. The discussion was around Dredd the most recent movie, so other than sharing the same universe it doesn't have much to do with the comics or the original movie. We are not looking for canon characters from the movie or the comic.

The story will take place years after where the movie left off and the Ma-Ma Clan had been wiped out completely from Peach Trees. A power vacuum was left behind in the slums where Judges had gone through and cleaned house. One Judge, upon seeing the potential of extreme gain, retired from her post as a Judge and instead of taking The Long Walk, went back to the power vacuum that was created and started a clan of her own.

From here on out the story is fairly open ended, Fallen Muse and myself will Co-GM this story, and we are hoping to find enough people interested in playing up to four Judges, be they experienced, past their prime, or new recruits. We are also hoping to find people that are interested in playing opposing gangs that have also risen in power to fill the power vacuum. You would be controlling the whole of the gang, so it would be borderline NRP, so this RP really would be a mix of both worlds.

Fallen Muse will be playing the ex-Judge, and myself will be playing the gang leader (and subsequently the gang) that said ex-Judge had put together over the years. Mutants are welcome, be as creative and violent as you'd like(as long as it's within guild guidelines!).

Aceteria: War of Terra (FANTASY) (ACTION) (DRaMA)

It's up to the GM to fully describe the monsters that we're supposed to be fighting against, if we all just used our imagination we could be fighting three very different monsters. I'm sorry but I'm going to pull out from this RP, it just feels a bit disjointed. It was fun while it lasted. Good luck :).
