When they saw how much she enjoyed working with play doh and the amazing sculptures she could make they turned one of the out buildings into an art studio where they introduced her to clay and pottery making.
No matter what she was doing or working on Lea would always stop working and clean up long enough before mealtime that she could go into the kitchen and listen to the chef prepare the meal. Over time she started helping him out by letting him know when something was done cooking, or by letting him know that he had poured out too much of something, etc. After a while the chef started letting her do the measuring. Then, he put her in charge of cooking something each meal as he slowly grew her culinary skills.

When he thought she was old enough her father started teaching her how to work metal as well. This was when her love of and talent in working with metal blossomed.
Their mom, on the other hand, loved to paint. Terri didn't really take much interest in this until one day Lea gave her a spotted dog she had sculpted. The dog was just a plain brown with indents for the spots. She took the dog up to her mom's art room and managed to paint the dog white and the spots black without making too big of a mess. When her mom came in and it seen that the dog had no details other than the spot she helped Terry figure out how to paint the dogs eyes, nose, mouth, inner ears, and lines between the toes. That was when she started letting her mom teach her how to paint so that she could paint Lea's statues without ruining the textures that Lea had created.
Half way through the last school year her parents learned about the arts academy, and decided that was where she and her sister would go the next year.

Name: Klaus Kalogeropoulos
Age: 28
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual with a preference for men
Appearance: Klaus stands at about 6' tall and has a lean, thin body. His dark brown hair is typically styled back, but he occasionally forgets to care and it falls lazily around his pale face. His eyes are a dark brown to match, and his jawline is a narrow and angular one that is often dotted with stubble and sometimes a semi-full beard.
Personality: Klaus is not very patient with his students. However, a softer side can be seen when a student approaches him to talk one-on-one--assuming he doesn't think the student is trying to manipulate him in some way. Outside of the class room, he comes as very laid back and easy going, maybe even fun, but formal. He can be very charismatic and charming, as well. That said, he's not a particularly nice guy overall and doesn't really find the energy to care about people outside of his personal interests.
Subjects:
- Canvas Conveyer
- Will occasionally substitue Symphony Band
Short History: Klaus was born in Greece to a poor family, but he was all that motivated to do much to change his status. He simply picked up painting and piano and eventually found himself to be quite good at those things. As a result, he left home at only fourteen and traveled about, using his art skills to make the money he needed to get by.
At seventeen, he earned enough money to travel overseas and found himself in America. New York was far too busy for him, so he moved West. At the end of his teenage years, he became a US citizen, completed the GED, and entered higher education.
Now, he's a graduate and is teaching at Arts Academy for his first year. He doesn't have any plans so whether or not he'll stick around is up in the air.
Name: Jackson Coin
Age: 29
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual
Appearance:
Jackson is pretty solid, standing at 5'11" and weighing in at about 170 pounds. His hair is darker shade of blonde, and is usually left as an unruly mop since he doesn't bother with it too much. And on the days where looking presentable is a requirement, he just slicks it all back with hair gel. Outside of school, Jackson's sea green eyes are often obscured by aviator sunglasses. While he isn't one for dressing fancy (his closet mostly consists of t-shirts, leather jackets and washed-out jeans), Jackson isn't against wearing a nice suit every once in awhile. He wears a lot of jewelry for a guy—string bracelets and leather bracelets, his hands are decorated with rings, a cross around his neck and sometimes those douchey puka necklaces and bracelets. He’s also got some tattoos. He has an enso tattooed on his right shoulder blade, an half-sleeve of waves crashing on his left arm, a lotus tattooed on the outside of his left ankle, and a crescent tattooed behind his left ear.
Personality: Jackson loves bad horror movies, ridiculous sports, and any and all forms of rock’n’roll. Basically, he’s a noisy, fun-loving, immature little shit and his greatest joy in life is messing with people, particularly the ones that take themselves too seriously. All in all, he's generally pretty lax with his students as long -- as long as they pass his monthly quality checks. If they don't, well, he's always been exceedingly patient in that regard. He’s completely indifferent to major events unless they directly impact him. When Jackson gets serious and loses the grin, you know shit’s gotten pretty fucking heavy. Despite all this, he manages to be an awfully charming guy. Jackson has never met a boundary he wouldn’t cross. He’ll go to bat for you if you make him laugh, if he likes your style, or if you have an offering that tickles his fancy (he’s fond of stuffed animals, cigarettes, and ugly puppies, just as an FYI).
Subjects: Classical Picking and Modern Riffs
Short History: Growing up in Chicago, the young Jackson Coin was always just a tad different from his peers. Creative and free-spirited, he did not fare well in structured classroom settings, and so, he always seemed to catch onto the material just a hair slower than those around him. All the same, he read avidly, and thus, in his own obscure way, he proved quite an intelligent child. However, he only discovered his love for music a couple years later, in high school.
Jackson took to the guitar like a duck to water. Until this day, he still can't thank the teacher who taught him the basics enough. Learning a menagerie of techniques from whatever books he could find at the library, a young Jackson finally worked up the courage to perform at the diner where he bussed tables. While his boss definitely wasn't pleased that he neglected his duties to pluck away at some guitar strings, the audience was a whole 'nother story. The Chicago underground, being the veritable music scene it was, welcomed him with open arms, and the rest was history.
While Jackson played countless small-time gigs, his musical career never really went anywhere. On his 27th birthday, he knew in his heart that it was over. Instead of wallowing in despair, however, he saw it as a milestone; the start of the next leg of his life.
As Jackson contemplated what to do next, all he knew was that it needed to have something to do with music. Then, as if by some heaven-sent miracle, he came across the website for Arts Academy. Immediately sending in his application and resume for a teaching position, he soon found himself hired.
