And for starters, it wasn't the fact that people were asking to move the plot along. The fact remains that everybody was posting and there was so much to respond to, that including every last answer to every last comment, granted, would be nice, but it would also be extremely difficult. Unless you worked on a posting system where we have a set ORDER to who posts, there's always going to be somebody left behind in an interaction. If you post the answer to something, then discover that the question was answered in a new post, then what you've just said has become completely redundant.
I'm not saying you should ignore everybody, I'm saying the opposite. The trouble is, it takes a lot of time to properly get EVERYBODY to respond to EVERYBODY, so sometimes you'll get left behind. The RP will get better with that, but the questions about way games we're playing aren't really relevant to the plot. Besides, comments like the Xbone being hated on is a direct conversation between two people. It would be out of place if somebody who was using the bathroom comes in and is all like "Yeah PS4 is awesome". Its out of place and not really needed.
If it concerns your character, go ahead and reply. Things like this include character intros, group conversations, private conversations between you and somebody else, and plot events. Otherwise, there's no point in commenting on something.
