Because it effectively kills the infected cells. It makes them fold onto one another until they tear apart.

Corruption is hard to push back against because it just speeds up for every person it captures.
Guys. There's only so much of my life force I can give out, which is the only confirmed weakness of theirs, and as far as I know theyre isnt anything that can stop their corruption other than that, or cutting off the limbs that they infected.
