Alex watched silently as Loki revealed himself before her. She expressed neither wonder or fear as his suit transformed into shimmering gold and green armor. So that's how he did it, she thought. When Loki had finished speaking, Alex pondered for a second. She rested a hand on her chin.

"Loki. Asgard. Yes, now I remember!" Alex blurted out. She raced to her room and recovered her world mythology atlas. When she returned, her hands where already flippping through pages littered with colorful markers. She finally placed her finger down on a single page and looked up at Loki.

"Loki. The Norse God of Mischief," she announced, "Do you mean to tell me you are a god?" Her voiced seemed distant, quiet and free of any mockery. She stood still, waiting for his response. Her dinner was left to cool untouched on the kitchen counter.
Thank you. Take your time.
"Hmm?" Alex mumbled, turning to face him from the kitchen.

She had already taken the first bite of her dinner. She swallowed before she gave him a response.

"I'm not sure," Alex leaned against the counter as she spoke, "You were quite sincere in your apology, and the incident was my fault to begin with. Sorry about that. Plus, I could always use the good karma."

She crossed the room the stand next to Loki, seated in a leather chair.

"Honestly, I think I decided to help you because you seemed like a nice guy. Odd, but nice. Nice guys are pretty rare in New York."

Alex paused to take another bite of her Hot Pocket, which she held in her left hand.

"Your home sounds like a wonderful place," she sarcastically remarked, "At least you have two people who care about you. You could have no one. Count your blessings, I suppose."

Her face grew dark as she said those last two sentences. In silence, she attempted to summon another smile, yet this one seemed more artificial than the last.

"Are you sure you don't want anything to eat?" Alex returned to the kitchen, eager to change the topic.

I am willing to begin this role-play if everyone else is. Shall we divide up the three remaining kings (Gold, Blue and Green)?
"Alright," Alex replied with a grin, "Let's hurry."

The dimly lit lobby was small, only consisting of a torn couch, a coffee table and a magazine rack. The air was polluted smoke. In the corner lied a receptionist desk. Alex nodded to the man positioned there. A lit cigarette bud rested between his fingers. He paid little attention to her.
Through a metal door, Alex led Loki up two flights of stairs and down a short hallway to the front door of her apartment. Room 218. Her keys jangled as she unlocked the door.
The doorway led to a small room consisting of a lounge area and a kitchen nested by the entrance. Wrappers and empty boxes where scattered across the floor. The sliding glass door, which led to a balcony, was blocked off my stacks of books and CDs.

"Make yourself at home. I'll be right back." Alex disappeared behind a door on the left, which led to her cramped bedroom. When she returned, her jacket and vest had been shed to reveal a worn Grateful Dead t-shirt.

"Are you hungry?" Alex asked as she opening the refrigerator, "You have a choice between left-over orange chicken and a pepperoni Hot Pocket." She uncovered the Hot Pocket box in the freezer and proceed to cook one package in the microwave for herself.
Welcome, VanceXentan!~

I have heard a lot of good things about Kino's Journey before, and may I say is sounds like a very interesting anime. I will make sure to add it to my list.

It's a tie really three ways actually so I've divided them into categories

Action: Hajime No Ippo
Mecha: New Mobile Report Gundam Wing
Comedy: Baka and Test

runners up being: Space Dandy and Sekirei (mostly due to the amount of fan service in the latter making it a bit hard to watch at times despite it being a relatively good anime.)

I have never heard of Hajime No Ippo or Sekirei. I will, however, argue that Space Danny and Baka no Test are not underrated. I have seen both of they and know quite a lot of people who enjoy those series, especially Baka no Test. I am interested why you do think they are underrated, though. As for Gundam, I have never seen any of the series, but I thought they all did fairly fell. I guess I was wrong.

As for myself, I am aware of a few underrated anime and manga, but I want to shed light on one in particular. That being Gatchaman Crowds.

This anime aired a year ago and at the time I didn't know of anyone else who was watching it. To this day, I have only met a few of people who have watched the series, all of them saying that they loved it.

Here is a link to a synopsis since I am a bit too tired to write one myself. As a brief summary, I would like to say that not only does this anime look and sound fantastic, but all it characters are enjoyable and how it handles the characterization is genius. This anime also contains some of the most unique and beautiful mecha designs I have ever seen.

Am I saying this anime is one of the best anime I have ever seen? No, no I am not, but it does diverse a lot more attention then it has received. So, if you like action-based anime with a bit of a psychological twist and aren't afraid of some moe, give this anime a try.
I am interested, but I have to ask if you are planning to include the Colorless, Silver or Unknown King.
"The name's Alex," she replied with a grin, "And I forgive you. We all have had our bad days. I should know."

She removed her hood despite the cold.

"Loki," she spoke his name aloud slowly, "Is that foreign? I could swear I've heard that name before." She paused for a moment in thought. Loki, Loki. The name rang a bell, but she couldn't recall where she had heard it before.

"Anyway, did you just arrive here in the big city? I thought it was second nature for a tourist to plan ahead and make hotel reservations. You must be one of those 'low budget traveler' types, though I do question your attire." She glanced at this business suit.
I swore I saw him wearing a coat before, she thought.

"If you don't have anyplace to sleep, you are welcome to crash at my apartment. It's only a few blocks away. Just promise me you won't wake me up in the middle of the night. I have work in the morning."
Alex was rarely ever this courteous to others, let alone strangers. For a moment, she felt a bit proud of herself for reaching out to the poor guy. This moment of pride was soon replaced by a grumbling stomach. Perhaps she could cook up some Hot Pockets when she got back.
