The snap was just a squirrel. Riyu approached an unfamiliar clearing which housed a small hut.
A twig snapped nearby but Riyu was nowhere to be found.
Riyu skidded to a stop and turned a corner, getting lost in the trees of the nearby forest. She turned into a bat so she could move easily.
The owner frowned. "Hmm. If you say so," They walked away. Riyu noticed a flicker of motion nearby and attempted to chase it, slowed by the leash, which she managed to trip over.
Riyu whimpered as her friend's "owner" approached them. "Have you seen my dog?" The "owner" asked, glancing at Riyu as if they suspected the werewolf had done something.
She whined, having a bad feeling about this.
Riyu looked around frantically but couldn't see her friend. She whined and pawed at the ground, upset.
Riyu pranced back to Axel, but paused as she noticed her friend's sudden howl of alarm.
Both chased after it, panting. But Riyu's friend slowed and Riyu caught it.
