I think having Aliens would be better than limiting it only to humans, but you should make sure no aliens aren't oped or just mary sue aliens, Along with Androids as well and augmentations.

Now having more than one planet could make or break it tbh, sometimes something sc-fi works better without a bunch of planets, while sometimes it's better with more, to be completely honest, I don't know if this should have several planets or not.

unless there is a way for Psionics to be fair, i don't suggest having it unless it's something passive or something that wouldn't be too oped if implemented.
